I could not have been more happy with the service received from both Gary and Mark at Wessex Garage Bristol In buying my new car. Both Gary and mark made the process effortless allowing me to sign and arrange all documents online, and were an absolute pleasure to meet on Saturday when I collected the car. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were incredibly kind and funny! Thankyou both so much, I am in love with my new car and will definitely be back for the next one!

We'd previously had a decent experience with Wessex Nissan when we bought our Qashqai from their Cardiff branch, however when it came to purchasing a replacement second car in the form of a Note, Daniel at the Pennywell Road branch stepped it up a notch and more than exceeded our expectations. We live near Carmarthen but knew the vehicle on offer was the right fit, so most of the work was done prior to visiting the showroom which made the process a lot easier. I understand he's fairly new to the branch, but what a hire! Being not at all pushy, polite, friendly and very accommodating of a whirlwind 3 year old in the showroom made for a pleasant transaction. He also provided us with a fantastic recommendation for dinner to boot! (The Gloucester Old Spot)
We shall definitely be looking to use the branch and Daniel again. (There's a Nissan dealer 2 minutes from our front door, and I'd still drive to Bristol!)

I found something out just by pressing button's to see what they do and found out something very interesting about my Nissan Micra 2018 car there is a simble that looks like 2 speedometer "1 going up" and the other "going down" - click on the speedometer going up that's on the side of the steering wheel and soon as you click on speedometer going up towards the windscreen straight away click on the button with and "SET - " it will be set at 20mph but if you click on "RES +" you can raise the speed up for example from 20 to 25, 30 and so on if you constantly keep the button pressed down - but if you press the SET - Or RES+ doing separate clicks it will go up or down 1 number at a time for example 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and so on - - > so you can set your speed to 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70mph so you won't get any more fines - don't forget soon as your click on the speedometer that's - that's on the side of the steering wheel that's near the windscreen straight away click on the SET -
(and then set your relevant speed) also don't forget to click on "SET -" Or "RES+" to bring the speed up or down to the speed you want - so if its on 20mph and you need the speed at 30mph click on "RES+" to bring the speed up to 30mph and if you want the speed from 30mph down to 20mph just click on the SET- - - > you'll know what I mean cause putting photo's to show what I mean - - I've got the Nissan Micra 2018 "clean diesel" I was told the diesel cars that are clean diesel's are fine for the future via the dealer - just to let you know soon as you press on the speedometer button going up it will Show you the words "Limit On" straight away press on the "Set -" then set your speed.. I have just bought a Mazda 2 from the Pennywell Rd branch. The experience from start to finish was amazing, I was really well looked after by Clayton and later the business manager who both expertly answered all my queries and made sure I was happy with everything. The selling is not at all pushy which is lovely and I was given a good price for my part exchange. All of the paperwork is done via the portal that is easy to understand and navigate and makes the whole process very smooth. We live in Reading as local Mazda dealer had only 1 MX-30 in and was in use so couldn't even see it. Phoned Wessex up to arrange a viewing and test drive whilst in Bristol. This was stacked up against mini electric, fiat 500e and Renault Zoe. We met Gary and took us for a test drive. It's a very good looking vehicle especially in the tri colour soul red. What was impressive with Wessex was the relation to dealing with my wife who was buying it. We were looking at ordering and noticed the showroom model was the exact spec we were looking at GT sport tech and in soul Red. It had some extras on, they said a deal could be struck if we looked to buy now. We had a think now the mini is a good vehicle but pricey. The fiat a fun car and zoe functional. However the experience with the garages at fiat and Renault was not that good which out us off. Mini sales was very good but the charm of the MX-30 as a short range car but it's interior was a major factor. The main factor of deciding to buy over here Eden mazda basingstoke loss were the attitude of Gary and Georgina. Much more receptive and open, the fiat dealer sales were shocking. Deposit paid and we picked it up last weekend. Mazda also give free ev charger and install though that part is another story. Highly recommended dealer and staff.

A very pleasant, swift and friendly experience buying our new Nissan Qashqai. It was the first new car I've purchased and the staff at Wessex Garages were very helpful indeed.
We had a few technical issues having booked a test drive online through their website only to turn up and find out nobody was expecting us, but the guys in the showroom were quick to resolve the issue and I had a pleasant test drive and a good chat. I booked in for a second test drive so my family could accompany me and we were allowed to fit our 2 year old son's car seat in to the car and take it out as a family without the dealer present. This was something I thought was very considerate and allowed us to test the car without the watchful eyes of the dealer breathing down your neck. It gave us a better clue as to what it would be like to drive the car realistically.
Having decided that was the car for us, and negotiated on price, I paid a holding deposit to get the ball rolling and things happened really swiftly from there. We went back to the showroom a couple of times to sign the relevant paperwork and they kept in close contact via phone and email. All in all a really smooth process and less than 2 weeks later we were back to pick up our brand new car.
We had a thorough run through of every detail of the car and were presented our keys in a short revealing ceremony and we were off. Since taking ownership we've had very few problems with the car. It is a pleasure to drive and suits our small family needs perfectly.
All in all a very nice experience buying our new car, and Wessex Garages will certainly be my first port of call when we need to replace the car in the future.

I initially visited the showroom and had a chat with Clayton, I then made the mistake of travelling to dealers in Bath and Gloucester to see what they could offer, I came away disappointed, I headed straight to Pennywell Road

Clayton sold me my ‘6’ and I could not be happier. I could wax lyrical about the car, how it shames BMW, Audi and the likes - comfort, safety, elegance etc. etc. But principally I’m writing to people who may already know the ‘best kept secret’ and want the car but don’t know where to buy from. I live in Dundee, Scotland. Not exactly down the road. Spotted the car with low mileage and spec I wanted and from then in Clayton was amazing. Instant answers to every email question (even when he shouldn’t have been working!). Clear, helpful, relevant. Gave me a brilliant/fair price for trade in on my fiesta and then arranged to drive the car up to Dundee and take the fiesta; all earlier than expected and exactly as promised. I recently purchased a used X Trail with finance through a 3rd party. I received exceptional attention by various members on the sales and finance teams from the initial visit, to test drive and finally collection. I was not disappointed in any way through the whole process and on collection the car was covered in a black drape before being revealed. It had been prepared to a very high standard.

Great service but the cleaning of the interior was poorly done and they never even opened the boot as that's part of the service. The windows were dirty aswell. Looks like they only changed oil and filter.
The car is great apart from the drivers and passengers window do not remove any morning dew when opening them as the seals do not touch the glass. This is a new car and it's not good....

Having found the car I was interested in online I dealt with Dan Bond in the dealership. He could not have been more helpful and was a pleasure to do business with. I saw a vehicle online and rang up to go in to see it, James who I spoke to on the phone greeted me and had already got the car ready and parked at the showroom entrance ready to have a look at it. The car was just as described and in really good condition with only 17K miles on it. James took me out in the car and then let me drive it back which was very helpful to see if the car the correct for me. James already knew that I was planning to go with a third party finance company which were offering me a pretty good price. James came back with a much better deal on the vehicle which included breakdown cover, Gap insurance, Extra 2 years warranty and their Nissan Premium care package so on the day put down a small deposit and then 4 days later went to pay the rest and drive away with the car. Along with this they done a full service on the car as well. Amazing dealer and was a pleasure doing business with James who helped me out a lot.

First up, I didn't want to buy a new car, that was not my goal and I still wish I could have fixed the old one.
So they tried and failed to fix my old mazda3, I knew it had problems but they said it was just a new battery that was needed. A mile later I decided that it was slightly more than the 240 quid battery they just sold me, as I sat at a junction in the middle of Bristol for an hour.
Wife and I had weighed the options, scoured the finance podcasts, we knew where we were with money and what we could afford.
A (good) replacement second hand vehicle would be 7 grand, with naff all for the old one, a new 14 and half grand car cones down to 11 grand with the scrappage scheme, so it comes down to what we could afford per month and what we were happy value wise in 3 or 4 years.
We sat down with Gary who was just ace, second day at Mazda but had been on the industry for a lifetime, already knew his stuff, we discussed everything at length, including how much I'd get off for the inconvenience of breaking down on the middle of the city immediately after being 'fixed'.
Words were had with Sam, also ace, boss man. Finance was looked at.
I didn't want to buy a car, but I didn't want the stress of wondering if the old one would break down every day for the next 20 months, before the diesel ban comes in.
The 2 guys were very open and honest, and genuinely wanted the best deal I could get for our budget. Eventually they found a new 2019 model, top of the range sport, for less per month with extra coverage than the lower spec 2020 model, couldn't choose the colour but the car will be worth the maximum amount in 42 month regardless of what happens to it, and it's all bells and whistles.
This ended and was a good experience considering where my head was at.

The two issues I needed them to check were dealt with efficiently and timely. Buying a car is a personal decision, but I like Nissan and the people in Pennywell Road always look after me.

We were impressed that on arrival it was clear that we were expected without having to explain why we were there. Every staff member greeted us as they walked past throughout the duration of our visit. We were travelling up from South Devon on a sunday to see a Mazda Cx3 at a different dealer in Weston. As we were ahead of time and i had seen details of another CX3 at Wessex Garage, checked to see if it was available, it was , so made detour to Bristol - so glad we did, the car was in great condition, very low miles and less than year old, Clayton explained everything in very friendly, relaxed fashion, no hard sell. Offered a reasonable part-ex on our current car, but advised to try selling it privately in the week we had before coming back - we did that and happy days we sold it to first person to view.
Went back up on train the following Saturday, Clayton picked us up from station, again a very relaxed experience at the showroom , same with Warren who was sorting out the paperwork. My wife ( who will be driving the new car ) is absolutely chuffed with it, and also passes on her thanks for the great service we received. I have a couple of very minor things i need to chase up on, but overall i would highly recommend this dealership.

Good service especially from friendly Sales Executive Clayton Collier who handled my purchase of a used X-Trail very well. Only slight problem being that the vehicle I had travelled to see wasn't on site when I arrived as I'd been assured it was before setting off. Fortuitously, a very similar alternative was sourced and collected from Cribbs Causeway whilst I waited and that was the car that I actually purchased, so we got there in the end! Unknown to myself (until website checked on the evening) the car had been discounted at Cribbs to below what I was quoted on the day, however when this was pointed out the difference was refunded without fuss and paperwork amended accordingly. Overall satisfied with the experience and very pleased with the car.

My only only negative comment regards waiting in line to be seen at the service desk prior to collect my vehicle. I estimate it took a minimum of around 15 minutes to be seen! Maybe there were problems with the paperwork but the two staff were getting up and down from their seats all the time I observed them. The system seemed cumbersome and didn't seem to flow smoothly. Nevertheless, my server was polite and helpful. Importantly, I appreciate the garage location in Easton rather than Cribbs Causeway.

Driving through Bristol on route to London before heading to Germany, and noticed rear brakes grinding. Rang Wessex on the Saturday morning who fitted us in, diagnosed the problem (rear brake pads) and made the repair by 1330 the same day ! Thanks to Stacey and the Wessex team for looking after us(and the dog) so well - and averting what could have been a real drama. Brilliant service, strongly recommended - will definitely use again !

From start to finish the sales guy, Nick Whincup was outstanding. Answered everything we asked, was honest about what options there were, was never pushy or forceful and felt like he had plenty of time for us. At no point did we feel rushed or hassled into anything. Once we had chosen the car we wanted (a Qashqai), the paperwork was sorted and all information was there, or we could be told what we needed to know. On pickup the handover was pretty good, the car was presented perfectly inside the showroom, and Nick even fitted the new floor mats for us. Would definitely recommend, and would use both Wessex (and Nick) again in the future. My dad has had four cars from there in the past as well and never had any major issues. I saw the car I was looking for in autotrader. For a laugh, I asked for a trade in valuation on my Wife's 207. The price of the car I was looking at was on a par with vehicles on eBay, but who wants to risk a car purchase on eBay? Maybe £500 but this was a bit more than that. The trade in value was fair.
Went to a couple of other dealers on the way to Wessex but did not like the 'Salesman patter'. I disliked the screen prices differing from the Web price. We were a bit disillusioned when we pulled up at Wessex as up until this point we had only been met by pushy salesmen. As I parked my phone rang and it was James from Wessex. I hope it was a coincidence and not a tracking virus put on phone by the ad on autotrader! James came out into the cold December afternoon to meet us, a plus point, not just waiting in the warm showroom.
Deal was done, car promised just after Christmas. Picked up car, lovely drive, very happy. Had a couple of follow up emails and calls checking things were OK. I can't praise Wessex enough.

First I have to say apparently being forced to use a Google account to provide feedback seems unnecessarily restrictive and seems typical of this company I am not sure they really "get it". I am using my wife's account.
That aside I would alert everyone to very poor communication and delivery on straightforward promises. My experience of buying a second hand (15 plate, 3000 mile) Qashqai has not been good.
I was promised the car within 10 days and was assured this was easily achievable. Despite leaving a number of messages to ask the salesman to contact me to confirm delivery I was told that these were not passed on, either they were not, bad, or the salesman lied, worse. Eventually I was told with one day's notice that I couldn't have the car when expected despite being told originally there was plenty of time. Apparently the salesman was going on a training course that he didn't know about. True customer service would have ensured I had the car when promised whether the salesman was there or not.
The actual sale process seemed cumbersome being passed to different people to complete different processes, rather like the salesmen in Are You Being Served for those old enough to remember the program.
Unfortunately the tale continues as when I got the car home I spotted a problem with bent trim in the boot. The garage immediately arranged for someone to come and pick it up and repair it. At this point I was quite pleased and thought they might redeem themselves. Unfortunately the repair was simply to put a screw through the trim into the side of the car, there was no contact with me as to whether I thought this was acceptable or why they thought it might be. A call to Nissan Customer Service resulted in me having to take the car in to Wessex for them to take pictures to show Nissan. I had a pleasant chat with Rachael in Service who agreed with me that the repair would irritate her and she explained that she would contact Nissan with the details and ring me on Monday or Tuesday, all seemed fine and once again I was thinking they might redeem themselves but guess what I am still waiting and resisting chasing them up yet again. I have decided to give them 1 week but what confidence can I have going forward? I still like the car though and perhaps this is part of the problem, they are finding it too easy to sell Nissans!
One other thing the chap who delivered my car back set off and immediately started using his phone, I stopped him and asked him to make his call while stationary, which he did, but if anyone from Wessex reads this please ask you staff not to drive and use the phone especially at the very start of the journey nothing you do can be urgent enough to justify this.

Bought a 3yo Nissan Leaf from them (dealing through James, who was cute), overall all good experience though don't expect to haggle as they wouldn't budge so if you want a deal look elsewhere. The car I bought was around £9k and I appen to know it was sold to them for £7.9k which is reasonable for a dealer I guess given new tyres, checks, valet etc etc. Oh and have your insurance on standby if you are a first time driver as their insurer won't insure you.

My husband and I called into the Wessex Garage this morning ( Saturday 29 December) so I could test-drive a 7-year old VW Eos convertible, and possibly in part-exchange for my Nissan Micra. The sales team, led by Nick, could not have been more helpful or friendly. The car we bought was already in excellent condition, and was then given its MOT and valeted. We took her for a very successful test drive. All the paperwork was completed, with Georgina and Warren guiding us through the piles of paper to be signed.
Then Nick emptied all our possessions out of the Micra and transferred everything to the Els, without even being asked to do so. We were offered hot drinks. The facilities were spotless.
I would recommend very highly the team at the Wessex Nissan if you want your car-buying experience to be an efficient and friendly one.
