Grazed my tyre on a gutter. It was a sunday 1500, I was afraid autocentres wont accommodate meas its almost closing time and a bank holiday the next day! I rang formula one as they were the closest and Luke said it will be tight but he will squeeze me in. I managed to put on a sealant and got the car running until I arrived at the centre just in time when my tyre looked like in picture. Guys did a good job, replaced the tyre and got the job done quickly. Again thanks for your help!

Amazing service needed a diagnostic after an EML light came on. Even though they where evidently very busy they still plugged my car in and solved the issue all within about 10 minutes. I called 10 other local garages who all refused to look at the car for weeks, formula one autocenters looked at the car immediately and even waved the bill at the end. Will be going here for any future work that needs doing

Fast, trustworthy, and affordable. What more can one ask for. Highly Recommend! The technician who had carried out the works for my car was Billy Humphrey. My rear tyre had been punctured with a screw, so I did a walk-in at their Colchester branch to which they had immediately booked me in for the earliest appointment they had available. The front desk was highly professional, informative and helpful all through out. As a woman, garages tend to overcharge when it comes to car services or repair, but the f1autocentre had given me the best affordable options and was honest with every step, so there were no surprise or unnecessary charges. They have also done a free brake check along with replacing my rear tyre, all in just around 45 mins. I am beyond impressed and happy with their service. Certainly would be coming back for any works needed for my car.

Just about to set off home back to Blackpool after visiting family and we spotted a screw in our tyre! A family member recommended Formula One so we gave them a call and they told us to come straight in. The guy sorted us out straight away and got us on the road within half hour or so! Reasonably priced as well for a last minute rescue!

I have used Formula ! for a number of years now both here in Colchester and back in Bury st Edmunds the branch closest to me when I lived in Mildenhall and have had great service from them both. I have several cars and have had tyres and air conditioning regas from both . Sadly this time I wasn't entirely happy, I bought high performance tyres for my BMW Z3 online through Asda and had them fitted at Colchester. I was given the option of a free safety check and a front wheel alignment check . I wasn't watching what was going on while I waited, engrossed in my smartphone as you are at 72, and when completed I asked for the relevant results paperwork for both the checks and was told I would receive it with my receipt via an email . I got the receipt as promised but the tyre safety check form had not been filled out, and no sign of a wheel alignment status report, which I have had in the past. The are valuable items of data when you get an agreed Valuation for your vehicle. I called to enquire why and was told "our machine is not printing anything at the moment". Why not let me know at source? At all times the staff were very polite and assured me they would have my car sorted as soon as possible which they did. Just a little miffed at being fobbed off. In their defense they did tell me that my rear pads were low but having had an MOT the day before I knew this. I shall still use them as they always come up with competitve prices and the shortest lead times .

Incredible friendly service. I had a flat tyre whilst driving along and luckily pulled into Formula one before it became dangerous. I went to the reception and a friendly helpful man said he would check my car straight away. He came back to me and gave me a diagnosis of a flat damaged tyre, and gave me the budget or posh tyre option. I chose and they fitted it for me and I was on my way within 30 minutes. Booked an MOT and full service. MOT failed on a couple of bits so was given a total cost Agreed to set fee. After work was done and I went to pay the bill had been split meaning I had a £400 bill for parts and labour and a £200 bill for service and MOT. I was only quoted the £400. They did take a little off for the mistake but not enough to make me use them again. Since writing review had a call from regional manager who has resolved the issue and sent his appoligies Also refunded the extra bill Overall happy with after service care

Ordered online and F1 were to fit. Say to arrive 5 mins before booked time so I arrived ten mins early. Told they would be 30-45 mins so I said I'd walk around the park and come back. Arrive back 25 mins later and car hadn't even moved... Eventually get the car back one hour after it should have been done, and they'd taken extra time to put the tracking gear on to tell me it was out and ask me if I wanted it done, even though I hadn't asked for that service. So a little disappointed. I don't think any of these large places offer the same level of service that a smaller garage does, but it was convenient so I thought I'd give it a go. Not sure I'll bother again.

I was originally let down by Halfords for two new front tyres (ordered a week in advance and not in when my car was meant to be in) I popped to see these guys on the off chance and not only were they really competitive in price, but they couldn’t be more helpful! I booked for 8:30 online. When I called to ask if there was an earlier time, they laughed and told me that was when they opened. Tyre was fitted at 8:30. When I got home I saw they had fitted the wrong tyre. I ordered a Continental Premium Contact, they fitted a Continental Eco Contact, checked my order and the receipt, I hadn't got it wrong. At the end of the day it was a lease car going back that day, I just wanted it to go back right. They are just not quite as professional at Colchester as they are at Hedge End the branch I used to use for many years.

Despite them being extremely busy and having to juggle their appointment book around, they made time to fit me in as soon as they could. Work was carried out quickly and the guy on reception was more than helpful. Cannot fault them and will be going back again. By contrast national tyres just down the road are absolute rubbish, I used to go there but on my last visit they were absolute tosh and apart from mucking me about trod grease all over my vehicles carpets and I think the guy who put my car on the ramps was still drunk from the night before. DO NOT GO THERE. GIVE YOUR TRADE TO THESE GUYS INSTEAD.

I booked in for a full interim service. Which was a reasonable price. The feedback I got from then on was that apparently the repairs I needed on a '12' plate car were going to cost £900. I wasn't totally convinced that all were needed and so when discussing this with F1 Autocentres, they stated it wasn't all required at that time. Got my brake pads and discs changed in the front, wheel alignment, new windscreen wipers at front and wheel alignment sorted for just under £400. From looking around at various prices - it seemed a little high but they stated these were the 'needed changes.' It was an okay service but felt that they wanted to charge me the earth for repairs which wasn't the case when they advertised the service cost!

Bought a tyre at very competitive price via the internet. Appointment arranged for 9am 2 days after order placed. Tyre fitted at allotted time with no hitches. Good way to buy tyres if you do not need them immediately, but a couple of days is not long to wait.

4 stars for price and easy to use website. The service in the branch was ok apart from my lights being left on, my climate was turned upto and left on max and fitted tyres could of done with a wipe down as loads of white bead sealer was left on the outer wall of the tyres.

Had a major service on my car on Monday 28 November 2016 taking advantage of the Black Friday 25% off deal. Staff friendly and polite. Informed me that they had to free off the nearside rear brake caliper which had been binding. Said I needed BOTH rear calipers. Would cost £445. I declined. The person I spoke to immediately dropped the price to £425. Also advised that the tyres needed balancing and alignment at a cost of £67. Still declined the calipers quotation, but reluctantly gave the go-ahead for the wheel balance and alignment. This put the cost back up well over what it would have been without the discount. When I received the invoice, the quote for Calipers had now dropped to a total of £356 and now included both rear wheel cylinders that had not been even mentioned previously. When I drove the car home a short distance via the A12, I discovered that the wheels badly needed balancing and that the steering wheel was no longer on straight. It only appeared straight going round a right hand bend. I spoke immediately to "Joe" at Formula1 Colchester and said that I would be going on a longer drive on Tuesday which would be a better test and would see if the steering wheel continued to shake. It did, so I arranged to take the car back in on Friday 2 December. The remedial work was carried out. I was informed that a weight had come off. One of the mechanics said he had done the best could - not sure if this was a reference to the balancing or the steering wheel problem and he suggested that the problem or problems were connected to the calipers??? What it boils down to is that I had spent £67 to return the wheel balance and steering wheel back to the situation when I took the car in, when the steering was not shaking at all and the steering wheel was on straight. It is not on perfectly straight now but close enough to suffice. No quibbles by staff about putting things right and they remained polite at all times. Under the circumstances I regret accepting the recommendation on balancing and alignment which cost me £67 for work that was self-evidently negligent and another hour and a half of my time to put right. Time is money. Not an encouraging experience. PS. Within minutes of the publication of the above review, I was contacted by a Formula One manager and the matter was resolved to my complete satisfaction. Good to see that they deal so quickly and fairly when issues are brought to their attention. All credit for so doing.

Great service at a superb price. Made an appointment online for 2 new front tryes and then to be MOTed. Pre- Paid on line for cheapest price and fished about for online discount code which saved me some more money. Was a little worried they might add some unnecessary repairs to the MOT ( like we worry about all garages) but all that was extra was a couple of bulbs for £7.50. Bringing my total for an MOT and two new front tyres to £90. Really pleased with the price and the service (very polite).

Sometimes the boss is a little arrogant over the phone which doesn’t suit him well and it’s contradictory with his comportment in real-life when he knows how to speak with people and he can emphasise with their problems. On other hand, I was booked for a Master Service with a MOT afterwards. Everything worked fine. Checked out online and the prices were competitive so bought a tyre online and booked an AM appointment. I arrived a few minutes before the garage opened a long with a few others. At the annual service my Ford dealer advised that one tyre required immediate replacing due to wear. Having bought and paid for the tyre online, I was surprised when FOAC Colchester advised that all tyres were fine and had at least 6 months wear left!!! FOAC considered it unnecessary to change the tyre and allowed a full refund. FOAC (Alec and Paula) deserve praise and recognition for their honesty and integrity.
