I purchased an electric vehicle from Daniel Blackshields. I found him to be very polite & friendly. He did everything he said he would do. Provided answers to the questions I had before placing a deposit on the vehicle, then from reserving the car through to delivery, he made sure things ran smoothly for me & sorted out the agreed points before delivery. Staff at Parkway Derby are fantastic! Travelled to the dealership on a whim to see a Golf R that I’d seen on the internet. I was greated on the forecourt by Beth, who was happy to show me around the vehicle, grabbed me the keys and swiftly sorted me out with some temporary insurance for a test drive. Upon return, I dealt with Samee who was fantastic, really made me feel like a “friend” rather than just a customer. He talked me through financial options, all about the vehicle I was purchasing and valued my car for part exchange (which was a fantastic price). I had a query about a poor repair that had been previously carried out on one of the seat bolsters on the Golf and that was dealt with before I picked up before vehicle handover. There was a slight delay with the handover due to this issue, but Samee kept me updated with emails and phone calls right up until the day I picked up the new car. New car is fantastic and was perfectly presented, I was still made to feel special, even though this was a used car I was purchasing, it didn’t seem to make a difference to the team. Overall brilliant experience, and I would definitely buy a vehicle from these guys again!!

Just had my first toe dip into electric cars. It was hard for me as I’ve always had large engine cars so buying a Tesla wasn’t high on my agenda when I first started. The youngsters from Parkway Derby were very impressive with their enthusiasm and in-depth knowledge of their EV vehicles and helped me with the transitions. Our Sales Executive Samee Hussain worked tirelessly to make a deal which I am most grateful for. In fact, the day after I agreed to purchase another garage came back with a lower offer, but Parkway had worked so hard on this I was more than happy to proceed. The car a Tesla Performance was in pristine condition as advertised, and the Wheel and Tire insurance deal just capped off the purchase. I would have no hesitation buying from them again nor recommending them to friends and family.

This is third vehicle I have purchased from Parkway, Derby. In this particular instance I placed an order for a new R Line Taigo in early March and was told build was due in the last week in March. I collected the car yesterday (27th May) and am more than pleased with it. I dealt with Beth Lawrence who was very professional throughout the process. Would thoroughly recommend Parkway, Derby.

My experience at this dealership was very up and down to say the least, so rather than give the negative parts first I will start with the positives. To start with the sales staff at VW Derby Parkway were good, I had Josh who I can honestly say he looked after all my needs professionally and with a positive attitude. Any queries I had to do with my new Car, all I had to do was send Josh an email and he would get back to me almost instantly, with the answer. If he didn't know the answer he would ask his manager, which he then would send me their response. I test drove a total of 2 cars, all I had to do was call Josh and tell him the date and the time I would arrive and he would have the car pulled up front ready for me, which was a great overall experience. The Negatives: When I came to pickup my car, I noticed that although the car had been cleaned there was a few key areas that were left in a dusty state, such as between the door handles/engine bay and the exhaust tips were also left looking dusty/dirty which was a let down, as I was buying a performance car, which you tend to notice the exhaust as it stands out. When I got in the car, I noticed that where they reinstalled the media system, someone had scratched the surrounding, as you can imagine this didn't look very good when you are handed it over... Again, I let Josh know and he got the surrounding replaced. Also, when I was handed the keys I had to hand them back over, almost instantly as there was no fuel in the car. So after being told that the car would have around £20.00 worth of fuel in the tank and finding nothing this is also very disappointing, I then had to wait 10 minutes to be refuelled and get the keys back again. If all these issues had been sorted beforehand I feel this would have dramatically improved my review, as I feel they are almost there but I think they require a few minor improvements to make the handover and buying experience better! I am extremely happy with my car, I've now owned it a week, I am extremely pleased with it.

Amazing experience buying a guy with Parkway Volkswagen. I had been dealing with Sam who made sure everything was perfect even down to details after I received the car which most garages aren't great with once you've bought the car. I wasn't local so didn't get to see the car in person but was given several video walk rounds and I got the car delivered which was very smooth. I was a bit reluctant to buy such an expensive car and transferring the money without seeing it but I was kept very up to date with the delivery and was very impressed with how great condition the car was. Very friendly & helpful staff in a relaxed environment making this a mostly pleasant way to buy a new car. The only downside (and it's a pity that there is one) is that I am a little disappointed that VW didn't think it worth providing a free tyre repair kit and tools with the car, given that I was spending upwards of £25k with them. Cars always used to come with a spare wheel. I accept that they no longer do, but they were never offered as a payable extra! It just feels like penny pinching. Surely VW care whether their new customer has the means to get home or to safety in the event of a puncture in their new car. It rather takes the shine off things I'm afraid - same with car mats! Otherwise I cannot fault Parkway Derby.

My experience with Vw as been fantastic. After a few issues with the previous car we were given the opportunity to exchange cars or a refund. We managed to find a used Vw gti golf and was taken care of by Dan blacksheilds , Dan day ,Beth from sales. Couldn't be happier with the service or turnaround Massive thanks to Samee for sorting me out with my Mk 7.5 Golf R. His service and attention to detail are a credit to the company. He's down to earth and I felt comfortable dealing with him, not like the rigid/scripted sales pitch you get at some places. I hadn't thought about any extras, but he suggested some that he knew would be of interest to me so I took him up on them (such as the tyre/alloy cover). You go to a main dealer for the peace of mind of course, and that's what I got He kept me in the loop throughout the process and I picked up the car as soon as it was approved Due to living far away and going after work, I wasn't able to see Samee for the hand over (will no doubt get to say thanks next time I'm in for a service), but Kyle sorted me out in his place. Unusually disappointing customer service. Dropped car off for service & small body work repair estimate, at 8am to pick at 4pm. Health check threw up 2 jobs. Email was sent at 3pm I picked up by chance at 3-15. Authorised jobs electronically but rang in to check authorisation had been received to be told car would not be ready til 5pm. I said a phone call would have been better than me picking up email by chance. On picking car up I asked why since they'd had car from 8am work was not started til mid afternoon & told 52 cars had been in that day. Frankly not my problem! When I asked for body work estimate it had not been done. Not the service from Parkway I'm used to.

Very friendly nice easy going chaps very efficient at the financial side of things and selling services. However when you want to test drive a car you don’t expect that there will be no fuel in it after all they know you are coming and then when you collect it the following day and find it isn’t charged and still only has a cupful of fuel in it they tell you it has had hundreds of checks giving a sheet of ticked boxes but when you get home you find that the chargers have not been put in the car and you can’t use the very features you purchased if for then it’s more than a tad disappointing and spoiled the experience of purchasing the car an experience that you do not get to enjoy very often . Believe me I wish I could say better but I can not.

The first thing I asked the salesman Jo was if the tyres on the car were run flats. He said oh no they are not run flats. I get home after collecting the next week and guess what the tyres are run flats. The car was MOT'd but I wasn't given the pass certificate. I checked it on line and an advisory was that the low tyre pressure light was displayed. On my way home a red triangle was displayed but I didn't know what it signified. Low tyre pressure! They hadn't bothered to check the tyre pressures in spite of the warning light showing. Overall not good customer service. To follow on from that it appears upon inspection by Mercedes that both rear tyre are punctured. Being run flats they cannot be repaired but must be replaced.This problem would have been found had the advisory on the mot been investigated as is advised. Not only that but on collection I was driving a car which, because the tyres were already deflated, could have ended in a breakdown or even an accident. I have contacted Parkway twice today but have had no call back. I am stuck 25 miles away with a car I cannot drive because it is unroadworthy as it was when I collected it.

The human element of buying our new car was brilliant. First class customer service which made the experience of online buying extremely easy and we weren’t disappointed in the car when we went to pick it up - just as described and impeccably valeted. However the system VW have adopted for setting up finance is a nightmare - hence only three stars. ‘Scrive and Onfido enable a fast, compliant and error-free financing process while providing a first-class customer experience for car buyers’ - first class, not so. The logging in process involves taking photos of either your passport or driving licence plus a selfie. Fair enough security is important however this process has to be repeated each to you have left the site and then want to log in again. The first time I logged in all seemed fine. I could open all the documents and read them but as there were a couple of clerical errors I didn’t sign off the documents. The second time I tried to log in a message popped up to say I had tried to access the site to many times and to contact them. No email address, no number was given so I could do nothing other than phone the dealership to ask them to rectify the mistakes and resend the documents, which they did. When I logged in for the third time only one document would open the rest were frozen. At this point and having gone through the security three times I was just about ready to give up! You need perseverance and stamina to get through the whole process. Fourth time lucky and I signed off the documents. Please, VW Head Office, reconsider what you have signed up to. I was not the only one at the dealership that day who expressed their frustration with Scrive and Onfido, in fact one other couple had just given up on the whole process! An otherwise excellent, customer focused transaction spoiled by a not fit for purpose program.

Price wise, no other dealer could come close to the deals Derby were able to offer me. Service Dept - now this is a different tale. Throughout the life of my first Golf I had nothing but problems every time I took it to be serviced. Problems they caused I was told were my fault, one issue I exposed for them resulted in a national recall!! Get your service done somewhere else. All in all, happy with the dealership, the cars on offer (and remember they are a national dealership) and the deals they are able to offer. I would definitely buy from them again.

Joe Cuomo was ok, his communication skills need brushing up and he should tell the customers the right thing, when it comes down to paying with a credit card. I was told that the vehicle would have a year's MOT. He/ they forgot, until I asked the question. Had to rebook for a later date. Joe said, he would kindly let me have some mats in the car, for no extra cost. He forgot and just some out of the office. Would I go to dealership again? Not sure. I would have liked to give a 5 star review but unfortunately that is not appropriate on this occasion. My session with the sales representative on the day of purchase was good. However, a few days later I asked her to run through with me the details of an alternative offer which involved the possibility of having extra services such as 'diamond bright' paintwork. I had not fully understood how the costings were worked out and how they compared with the version I had chosen which was a straight cash payment. She promised to get back to me because she was busy at that moment but did not return call until several days (more than a week I think) later. Then she asked me to send a copy of the paperwork. I sent copy of the paperwork but, again, did not hear back. Secondly, I had been told on the day of purchase that Parkway would be in touch at intervals prior to my new car being ready. However, I received no communication at all from Parkway. I tried to use my VW app. This did not enable my new car to be tracked the way my previous Golf was up until the day of delivery. Eventually, I contacted Parkway myself. The sales rep gave me an estimated date of 'November'.. which was useful. Later when I called for an update, a very helpful person looked up the status of my new car and gave an estimated delivery date. [The exact sequence of events may have been slightly different from this, but is the best I can remember]. All in all, the delivery of the car occurred within the predicted timeframe, but I had to ring to find out. Parkway were not proactive. I later found out that my sales rep had been furloughed because of COVID. COVID is difficult for everyone but it can also be an easy excuse. I feel that someone else should have taken over the handling of my case. About a week before collection date, the senior member of staff responsible for sales contacted me to say that my car was on site. I have no complaints here. On the day of picking up my car, that went fine. Very efficient handover and an enjoyable experience. I ordered some floor mats and they came in a couple of days later and the rep had them ready for me. The car itself is fantastic... really pleased with it. So, there we are. Nothing went wrong but Parkway did not initiate any communication with me. And I still don't understand that initial quotation - but I'm not interested in that now. The deal is done. Thank you.

Bel rang me on a weekly basis to update me on progress, and his manner was always totally courteous but also warm and friendly. He made absolutely certain that the final stages, just before picking up the car, also ran perfectly smoothly and explained all the workings of the vehicle to my wife and myself with the utmost clarity, care and patience (neither my wife nor myself are strong on technology!!). He left me in no doubt that he would always be there to answer any questions that I may have as I get used to the car, and to confirm this, he rang me a couple of hours after I had got home, to check everything was fine. It was! Various family members have purchased cars from Parkway Volkswagen Derby over the years, and we have always been delighted with the cars we have bought and the service we have received throughout.

We sourced a Passat estate GTE hybrid vehicle online and secured an appointment for a test drive the same day. We were impressed with the safety and hygiene policies in place in these Covid days, both in the showroom and the car. We were assigned to Rachel, who we found to be really helpful, friendly and with very good communication skills, and we very much enjoyed working with her. We were given a very acceptable price for our PX Passat estate TDI and returned to Derby (50+ miles for us) the next week to collect the car. It was well presented and we were chuffed to find it on charge waiting for us. Niggly jobs we had requested were done beautifully. The whole process was great - but with a few qualifications: 1. We have never owned a hybrid car before, and we soon realised that more information and help - maybe training almost, would have been useful to us upon collection. With respect, the owner's manual is not a user-friendly book, although we have spent hours poring over it. 2.Despite the car being on charge, the battery level was virtually zero, although we didn't realise this initially. We tried to charge it at home and nothing happened either and we were worried that there was a fault. However, we found out by copious reading and watching youtube videos that the charge mechanism had been set (presumably by the previous owner) on a timer - thus it was actually not charging even at the garage prior to purchase - it seems odd that no-one in the workshop seemed to pick this up, and the smooth salestalk about making sure the battery was fully charged for us actually was incorrect. 3. We had read that new cars are supplied with two charging cables yet we were told that there were none with our (3 year old) car which we thought was odd, but accepted. However, when investigating under the boot carpet, found both charging cables - thank goodness we hadn't already ordered new ones. Again, we would have expected that to have been picked up, especially as Parkway had sold the car new, and serviced it throughout its lifetime. All that said, we are very happy with the car; there is a problem with one of the windscreen wipers, which we will contact the garage directly about - it didn't rain on our test drive day! We would like to thank Rachel for being such a pleasant member of staff, and we hope that these comments are constructive moving forward into the 'E' era.

I was very pleased with my visit to Parkway Derby. I have just bought my first ever VW after 10 years of having Toyota's. Amy was awesome and nothing but polite & helpful and answered all of my questions. At no time did I feel pressured into buying the car and Amy gave me as much time as I needed. I ended up leaving it to begin witn then came back a few weeks later to finally by the car. Being the first time I've bought a car from a main dealeship I didn't feel any pressure to buy any of the added products such as alloy cover etc. The price I got for my car wasn't the greatest and I could have got more elsewhere but for ease I wanted to do it all in one place. Amy clearly explained the whole process and kept me up to date with everything. When I picked up the Polo BlueGT on Friday it looked like a brand new car! It was immaculate, there were a few marks on the alloys that I had noted when I first saw the car but they sorted this out and everything looked brand new by the time I came to pick my car up. The car itself is a dream to drive, its rapid and feels a lot more solid than I'm used to with driving a Yaris. If this car is reliable as my old Yaris I will be a VW convert and would definitely go back to Parkway Derby in the future when I decide to switch my car again.

We found a VW Tiguan which we were very interested in online. I made a call to Parkway VW to enquire as to the availability of the car, and was lucky enough that Rachael Norman was the sales person who answered my call. The car was available and i arranged to travel to their premises to view the car. I was met by Rachael, and after the neccesary checks were made she showed me the car and left me to explore and examine it in my own time. When i returned to Rachaels desk she was ready and prepared to take me out on a test drive. She took me around an extended test drive giving me ample opportunity to become familiar with it and decide if it might be the car for us. After arriving back at the dealership i was offered refreshments and we discussed how we might progress. Rachael was so easy to deal with, there was no pressure to complete a deal, she offered to put the car on hold for me until my wife could view and test drive it. We returned a few days later for my wife to drive the car and take a look at it. For personal reasons, we were unable to complete the purchase. At no time were we pestered or pressured in any way by the dealership or Rachael. Rachael is a wonderful person to deal with, very knowledgable helpful and very accomodating. I would highly recommend Parkway VW in general and Rachael Norman in particular. It really was a refreshing change to visit a car sales business and not be hassled and pestered from the minute we walked through the door. Without doubt i will happily give my custom to Parkway, and conduct my business eith Rachael Norman.

Test drove 2 Tiguans different engines back in August at Derby. The salesman asked me what engine spec I was interested in. I told him the BITDI or 190ps which he relpied they stopped taking orders for the BITDI and there was a 25 week wait for the 190ps. After 1 week I ordered the BITDI else where which was factory built and came in 9 weeks (quoted 14 weeks) . Really enjoyjng my new new car and got a big discount on price. Nearly 8k off RRP. Also hear all the time that Parkway is a family run business. So what? I just want to buy a car that you are selling at a competitive price. Edit: Thanks for for reply. Maybe it was some kind of miss understanding with the salesman to give such information. I like to take my business locally but it was a shame it didnt work out this time.

Generally a disorganised affair with poor communication added in. You have to literally chase them (which is something I hate having worked in a main dealer as a tech in the workshop) to get results. You describe problems to which they very rarely take you seriously and might only half investigate it until you bring it back the 3rd or 4th time. Never call back when they say they will, people tell you different prices for the same things over the phone. Usually walk in and stand there for about 10mins before anyone says "are you being sorted"...wouldn't recommend. Update - my faith has been somewhat restored in the dealership after a couple of pleasant experiences with the service manager and workshop manager. Both seem to have the attitude required and actually know what they are talking about. If the communication was to improve this dealership easily could be a 5 star.
