Buying a car long-distance isn't without it's risks but after speaking to the guys at Alba Motor's, I was feeling quite confident that the car I (really really) wanted to buy from them was as good as it looked online. And so off I went on the 6hr drive each way (turned out to be 14hrs driving in total because of hold-ups) and all I can say is that it was worth every single mile that I drove! The car (an Audi S5) was even better 'in the flesh' than I'd expected; the transaction was smooth (paperwork, finance, DVLA, etc) and the customer service was excellent. A quick look at the cars they had for sale had me like a kid in a sweet shop; every vehicle looked immaculately presented and has left me 100% sure that when I do look for my next car, Alba Motor's will be top of my list to check. No wonder customers keep returning; I'm sure I will, 14hrs round trip or not!

I had actually never heard of Alba before, despite having driven past their base in Balcarres Street many times. I have to say I was very impressed with the quality and presentation of all their vehicles and ended up test driving both the ML350 and a BMW. Andrew was highly professional from start to finish and I left that day with my new car. Andrew even arranged for my old Mercedes to be scrapped. Great service, couldn't expect better. Excellent people to deal with. My experience with Alba was very positive. Went down from Aberdeen to look at a car they had just got in and it needed work done before they were ready to sell it, even though it was a Saturday they immediately set to work getting the car ready and by Sunday around 15:00 the car was ready. The car is perfect and I am delighted with it.

I recently got my second car from Alba, having had the previous one, a V70, for 7 years. I always got the Volvo serviced at Alba because of the consistently high quality work and excellent advice from David, and when it came to looking at another car I was treated like a VIP by the two Andrews. Great company, both Andrews did excellent job at selling the car and making sure everything was taken care of. There was an issue the car developed after I picked it up, they made their best efforts to fix it, gave me a courtesy car free of charge. It turned out to be more complicated than anyone could've expected and took longer than I could wait for so I've rejected the car. They took it back no problems and refunded my initial payment. Although the situation was a bit unfortunate (things like this do happen) I'd definitely not hesitate to come back and buy another car from them in the future. True 5 star service from Alba Motor.

I cannot recommend Alba Motor Co enough. Firstly, their cars are of a very high standard, in both specification and condition, yet still over a large range of competitive prices. You won't feel under pressure or unwelcome at any point, and Andy (the owner) will take the time to make sure you know everything you need to know. However, what sets them apart is their treatment of their customers. My Golf GT needed a replacement part in the first month : it was fixed free of charge as soon as I brought it in the very same day! A very professional team who will go the extra mile.

Tried to buy an Alfa Romeo saloon this week from Alba Motors, unfortunately not quite the outcome I hoped for as I just missed out to another buyer. However my experience of dealing with Andrew was thoroughly positive overall, I was treated with respect and there were no pushy sales tactics. Given I very nearly made the trip up from London to Edinburgh with a view to purchase, Andrew offered to reimburse me for some of my costs and also offered me a right of first refusal if he comes across a similar model. Would consider purchasing from Alba Motors if the right vehicle comes along, despite the 300+ mile distance from London.

I recently bought a 5 series from here and was very pleased with the service I received. Andy was excellent to deal with, no high pressure sales just good cars at market prices. I get the impression that these guys only take on good stock and price it accordingly. There was a problem with the navigation system in the car and between David in the service department and Andy it was resolved without any of the all too familiar "wrangling" that is normally required after you have handed over your money. All in all I would happily recommend this garage and it will be the first place I look when I come to replace the car I just bought from them.

Very impressed. Visited showroom to look at a specific BMW. Very relaxed. No waffle, no pressure. Was left alone to look at the car in peace without being pestered. All cars in stock were obviously good quality with immaculate presentation and priced fairly based on my prior research. Arranged a test drive. Happy to let me take the car unaccompanied for as long as needed. As a result of all that the decision to buy was a no brainer. Dealt with both Andrew's who were honest and a pleasure to deal with, offering some great advice which helped ensure I was buying the right car. A much better experience than I would have had buying an approved car at a franchised dealer (which I was dreading the thought of) and a better quality car into the bargain at a better price with a warranty. Very trustworthy. I bought the car without seeing or test driving it, due to the fact I was a 4.5 hour drive away. I got the train up to Scotland and then a short taxi journey to the dealership. Think I should note that alba motor company also offered to pay for my taxi journey however I thought it was only fair I payed for it myself. I arrived and saw my mk6 golf gti and wasn’t at all disappointed. The service I received was excellent, they didn’t just want the money and for you to leave. They were very happy to have a conversation with you and general chat as well. After doing the paper work I took my 260 mile journey home and it didn’t miss a beat all the way back and still hasn’t after 700 miles. The car is mechanically sound and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again despite the long journey. Thank you for the service I received guys. Very happy customer.

Andy was extremely helpful and suggested I should fly up and view the vehicle. As I was far too busy to travel Andy gave me a precise description of the vehicle and welcomed an RAC inspection. They even arranged the finance for me and gave me a cracking deal as well as servicing, MOTing as arranging to ship the vehicle down to me here in London. I have just purchased my second car in 7 months from Alba. The last car was so nice that someone decided to borrow it and not return it. I cant recommend these guys and the backup team highly enough. They do everything they say they will and more and if they see something on the car that needs sorted they do it - even if you don't spot it. I actually trust them so much that I bought the second car from them without seeing it as their word was good enough for me and that's on a car that cost £30,000. when I am ready to change again I will call them up, give them my requirements and then wait until they find the right car for me. I purchased a used VW Golf Tdi from Andrew @ Alba in June 2012. Overall I had a very good sales experience - not pushy at all, straight talking & a fair trade in price. On collection the car was presented exceptionally - the valeter is amazing! Around 3 weeks after purchase the car developed a problem in the DSG gear box. I was dreading taking the car back for inspection as a result of poor experiences at other garages in the past. I needn't have worried. David the mechanic gave the car a thorough test & agreed there was a major problem. They (at their own expense) had the gearbox stripped & rebuilt at a specialist engineers in Glasgow. During the repair they event lent me a similar car & as such I was in no way inconvenienced. Good communications throughout & a copy of the £3,000+ repair bill they had paid confirmed to me this is a rare garage / individuals who care about their customers, their cars and most of all their reputation. Buy with confidence!
