Buying a car here was easy and straight forward. Friendly salesmen who weren't pushy or made you feel uncomfortable. Was no problem for them to allow me to test drive the car around the local area. Allowed me plenty of time to take a good look at the car and ask any questions. Very good communication and prompt replies from them throughout the sale. Also excellent aftersales to help resolve a minor issue I had with the car, even though I live 200 miles away they were happy enough for me to have the car looked at locally and were fair and very quick in offering a refund of costs.

EDIT: Had to knock a star off for ownership transfer not being registered with DVLA for almost a month after I took delivery of the car. Didn't receive my V5C from DVLA after a month so tried to order a replacement. The details didn't match so I contacted Smart Autos to find out what details they supplied to DVLA for the ownership transfer. They admitted they forgot to do the paperwork until a few days prior. So possibly another month wait or more before I can get the V5C logbook. BMW cannot set me up on their ConnectedDrive system without the logbook as proof. Mistakes happen but I should have been informed of this without needing to chase to find out. - Overall a positive experience with only minor criticisms I have detailed below. Pros: - Absolutely no pressure or sales tactics applied either over the phone pre-test drive or afterwards. - Token amount asked to reserve the car (fully refundable) before I could make it down for the test drive. No "test drive" fee that some other dealers ask for. - Were willing to arrange cosmetic fixes that I asked for at my expense but at their trade pricing. - No administration or delivery fees when car was ready. - Hard copies of full service history supplied on delivery as advertised. Cons: (All minor - supplied for possible improvement feedback) - Car interior was cleaned but not in detail. Nothing major but I did have to spend the time wiping the internals down myself after delivery, i.e. Around joints, switches, handles, etc. - Coolant level was about 2cm below minimum on delivery. Nothing dangerous and fortunately something I could easily address but ideally should've been checked prior to delivery. - Very minor one but car was delivered with 3 out of 4 car mats. Not sure where the other one went. Odd!

After contacting Smart Autos we got a reply straight away. Seller was very helpful, sent us photos of documents and and we agreed the time to meet the next day. We got there as agreed and I believe another person told us that there must have been miscommunication and that he wasn't aware of us coming. He had to bring the car from another yard. He came back after 15 minutes and left us with the car so that we could inspect it without any pressure. Unfortunately the car was much worse than on photos and in the description so we didn't even want to test drive it. Traces of rust and quite a few scratches, small cracks on bumper, aircon not very cold, one of the air vent functions not working.

Bought 9 y.o. car from them. Because of new phase of lock-down I can't go to the dealership so they just brought car to me to view. Car had some minor issues, so they ordered part and once it arrived mechanic came over and fitted it. Car came with all the necessary papers and history. They also sent forms to DVLA immediately so I got all the paperwork from DVLA next week. Same with AA cover. Very good and friendly service. Hassle free deal.
