Purchased a used F-type which had multiple problems from the moment it was delivered. It had a check engine light come on twice (including being initially delivered to me with it on!) in first 6 weeks of ownership and a not fit for purpose front tyre. While changing the front tyres, the service centre managed to also damage the alloys. It does give me concern that these issues can so easily slip past their so called '165' point inspection for approved used cars! Having said that, the redeeming features are that all of these issues have been eventually resolved with no cost to me, but it has taken weeks of not having my car available. While I had a loan car for some of this period, the issues did result in having to delay some trips I had planned and extra taxi costs over this period. The dealership did arrange a free of charge service to ensure peace of mind after the last set of issues, which was particularly appreciated. On a personnel side, the sales team (Mitch and Daniel) are very helpful and understanding of the problems. While all the drivers (Raj, Peter and Anthony) I have encountered have also been incredibly professional and helpful when picking up and dropping the car off. All in all, while the sales team have been sympathetic, understanding and have helped resolve these issues, there have been too many issues (which are predominantly service center related) to be overlooked completely. With the understanding that used cars sometimes come with some niggles, I would rate my experience with Stratstone as OK. 3/5.

I recently bought a Range Rover Velar that I found online. I rang the Mayfair dealership on Wednesday spoke to Mitchell O’Brien and the car was delivered to my front door in Cheltenham on the Friday! Mitch was a phone call away or else available on email. Addressed all of my questions (had not seen the car in person), the payment process was straight forward and confirmation via email received pretty much straight away! For anyone with reservations about buying a car from home, my own experience was seamless. The pictures and video of the car were clear but when the car arrived I was over the moon. It exceeded my expectations! The driver Anthony who delivered the car is simply next level, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic! He was ever so patient and showed me a lot of the functionality most of which I can’t remember but… fear not, there is an app Land Rover iGUIDE that comes in handy. Kameran was great from the start of purchase, Peter was good with delivery. Only downside has been the lack of communication of delivery date and a week late in arriving also the car arriving with work not completed as promised. I came to Land Rover Mayfair after I had been messed around by another LR dealership after ordering a 110 and not getting any clarity on my delivery. So I called Stratstone Mayfair and spoke with Moshin Ahmed who assured me he could get my order on time and to the spec I wanted. He was always very helpful and would reply almost instantly to any email I would send and was always happy to help. He's an asset to the showroom and I will no doubt buy from him again. Only downside to the process for me, was the pick up of the car as this is a special day for anyone, it wasn't what I was expecting. The main thing being my keys being give to me in plastic bags and the paperwork going in a white envelope. It's the small things that count...

I think most people would agree that buying a new or used car should be a pleasurable experience. I’ve spent a lifetime buying some quite exotic cars both privately and from small dealerships and have always gone for the best possible deal. Sometimes this has worked, and quite often it’s bitten me on the backside. So being on a certain age I thought I’d actually be sensible and try buying from a main dealer for the first time. I spent weeks checking out the used approved Land Rover site looking for a three to four year old Vogue. I was more than a little surprised to find the best deal was being offered by the dealership with the poshest address – Stratstone Land Rover, Berkley Square, Mayfair. I travelled down from near Manchester to check out a low mileage model which, the sales guy, Long Do showed to me. I then spent two weeks “errming” and “arrring” whilst Long and the Business Manager, Rob Frost patiently worked out a range of deals for me. I decided the deal was just too good to miss – it was virtually the same price as most non-franchised dealers but with a full two year parts and labour warranty. I spoke to Neil the Used Car manager as Long was out of the office and said I’d come down to London to collect the car. Neil said he would save me the journey and have it sent up to Stratstone Manchester for me. Great news. On the day the car was driven up I has a series of disasters that meant I couldn’t meet with the guy who was dropping it off – and he needed my signature. I spoke to Neil who told me there was absolutely no problem and that Long would travel up the following day to hand the car over personally. So….I drove to the dealership the following day to find that Stratstone Manchester is actually a Ferrari dealership. As I walked through the showroom door I found my immaculately presented dark green Range Rover in amongst the dazzling Ferraris - and it honestly didn’t look out of place. I spent half an hour looking round the £200k + supercars before a smiling Long arrived to show me around mine and took me through the simple paperwork The car was superbly prepared and virtually indistinguishable from new. I drove away from the showroom with a huge grin. So – a pleasurable experience? More like a fantasy. Fantastic customer service from Long Do and the team at Stratstone Mayfair and a very good deal.

The showroom is quite small and not very practical for parking but they offer arrangements by taking your car to an off site parking. Sales staff are professional and friendly, although they use all sales techniques/tricks in the book to boost your interest. Price is non negotiable (or so I was told) but vehicles are priced competitively. Car had a little glitch (error message on the dashboard due to ad blue) but they handled it satisfactorily by lending me an E-pace while my car was being checked. Overall, I did business there because they had the which better met my expectations and I did not want "to lose anybody's time" 😉 Ps. As a side note, coffee machine makes the worst drinks I ever had at a dealership! 😏

Staff are happy to let you browse and not hard sell you, rather waiting for you to approach them. It's a little bit of an odd space for a showroom, but it works.
