I bought a car from Barker Mills in March this year, the staff were all very friendly and on purchase dealt with any issues I had with the car promptly. Five months after I purchased the car, I had an MOT carried out, unfortunately the car failed in a number of areas, I contacted Barker Mills, they carried out all of the work and some extra work and charged me absolutely nothing. Knowing I'm a nurse they also did the work as fast as possible for me, they are brilliant and friendly and I would happily purchase another car with them in the future.

I bought my car in December. Just recently I took it for a service at my local garage and was told that three things needed fixing (one of which was still under warrantee) and was quoted £260 to fix them. I contacted Barker Mills who were able to get me booked in ASAP to fix a leak on my gearbox. All the staff were very kind and when I returned to get my car they had fixed all three problems with no expense even though only one of them was under warrantee. Barker Mills saved me £180 and I am very very grateful! They were really quick and efficient and are very loyal to their customers. Thank you!!!

Hi Steve My experience with barker Mills wasn't as straightforward as I'd of liked. Steve was very pleasant when buying my mazda 6. On arrival I'd noticed a couple of dint on the car Which he assured me they'd be taken care of upon purchasing the car. When it came to paying for the car all the things I had pointed out had been resolved :) happy chappy A month or so past and the car started being very sluggy. Steve was quick to arrange for the car to be looked over. The car had to stay at the garage for quite some time. Due to this I was given another car Until mine was ready. The mazda had to stay longer than I'd liked and because of this Steve very kindly offered to pay me 3months finance. This I thought was very kind of Steve. Sins then the car has been sweet, thumbs up to the level of service 👍

As a small business owner my car suddenly broke down, turns out the last owner decided to strap the alternator up with cable ties... believe it or not. Steven & his wife Michelle at Barker Mills Car Sales. Diagnosed the problem, showed me pictures of the issues. Charged an amazingly reasonable price and were in general just a pleasure to meet. Let’s not forget the fact they rushed it through knowing it was impacting my business. And then, to top it off, they gave me a courtesy car to keep me on the road whilst they made the repairs! This is a very late review but I bought my Skoda Fabia from Barker Mills over 7 months ago now and I have clocked quite a few thousand miles in that time. I have had no issues with my car what so ever the car had a full check over and a new MOT before the car was released. I was also given a 12 month warranty from Barker Mills them self. The car was immaculate and also at a great price. I part exchanged my old car which was Hassel free and I was offered a great price for my old car. I would definitely recommend Barker Mills and I will definitely buy from here again in the future. Thanks again.

Apologies to Steve and Michelle for the delayed review, I wanted to give the Mazda a run for its money before doing a write up. I’m a month in now and I can honestly say that it’s perfect - in fact, not a single complaint about the whole buying experience. After turning up with no warning for a first look at the car, we had to hang around a little as the mechanics were just finishing up on its routine MOT, carried out by the garage, on every vehicle that hasn’t been MOTed in the last 6 months. Aside from a slightly misaligned front panel, on first look the car was amazing, in immaculate condition inside and out. After flagging up the minor damage, Steve was quick to reassure us that he would have the panel realigned, free of charge, at their body shop. Deposit placed and on to pick up. We could only collect late on a Saturday evening, outside of the garage’s open hours. Again, both Steve and Michelle were incredibly accommodating and opened up after hours for us to pick up. On second look the car looked even better after being polished up and thoroughly valeted, and with the front panel realigned as promised. No faults to report a month in, however if anything does happen I’m confident Barker Mills will be on hand to help out. 100% recommend to anyone in the Greater Manchester area, or even further afield.

Based on my experience with Barker Mills I would have no hesitation in returning to this trader in the future. I recently bought a Golf here and the experience from start to finish was excellent all round. The car is great and the service was first class. Despite being reluctant to take my car in part exchange Steve still gave me a great deal for it and was excellent in dealing with any issues with my new car. Been taking my car here for its service and MOT for a couple of years now. Service I received today was outstanding. Following a recent trip to the main honda dealer for a recall on the airbag system, I was advised that a considerable amount of work needing carrying out on my brake system. Not wanting to pay main dealer prices I duly booked in at Barker and Mills for the work to be carried out. When John the mechanic started the work he noted that half the work recommended by Honda did not need carrying out! Most garages would probably not have carried the work out and still charged me! Not only that but Steve, Michelle and John are such genuine nice people as well. Cheers guys and hopefully won't see you until MOT time next summer!

I recently bought a Ford Fiesta from Barker Mills and I love it. All the staff were really friendly, helpful and very patient as we were looking around with our 16 month old son who is very inquisitive! Brilliant car company to deal with. Steve is a top bloke, proper genuine and they don’t rip you off, even better it’s family run and prefer to help out family businesses. They also get the job done quickly. Example of pricing: We had a dint in the Mercedes, went to one garage who told USA lol the metal side panel needs replacing which would be around £1800, barker mills advised its easily fixable without replacing anything and will only cost around £400. The work done you wouldn’t have even noticed it was damaged in the first place.

My wife and I bought a Kia Rio on a 08 plate and have been delighted by both the car and the sevice Barker Mills have given us. The car was in excellent condition and beautifully prepared when we went to test drive it, and no pressure was applied to us to buy - a real change from other garages. The car had a slight problem after a couple of weeks and it was sorted out very quickly, replacing new parts rather then trying to repair worn out parts on the warranty. I bought a Corolla from Barker Mills a few months back. About a month or 2 in it developed a little bit of an issue so I took it in and it was fixed for me free of charge as it was still under the warranty. Service was excellent, the car was fixed quickly and I was given a courtesy car so I could still get about whilst I was waiting. A few months later it started making a similar noise so I took it back in again. Although it was outside the warranty I was still given a courtesy car free of charge whilst I waited. It turned out that it wasn't the same fault at all but it looked liked someone had been tampering with my car and had loosened all 4 wheels. Barker Mills tightened all the wheels for me and didn't charge me a thing, even though they were well within their rights to charge me for the time taken trying to discover what the issue was. They even cleaned it for me!! The car now drives absolutely perfectly again. I can't recommend these guys enough. Really great and courteous service!

Very pleased with the car, and the customer service received from Barker Mills. I bought a Honda Accord just over a month ago, the car has been great, very pleased with it, and the staff made sure all of my concerns were addressed straight away, no hesitation. You should always judge a business on how they deal with a problem, For me Barker Mills were great. I bought an older car off them and got a years warranty. I have just recently purchased a Honda Civic Type R from Barker Mills and I feel compelled to write a review about the excellent service I have received. Throughout my life I have purchased and without exaggeration hundreds of cars from main and independent dealers and have often been frustrated with the dodgy salespersons who couldn't lie straight in bed. However, buying a vehicle from Barker Mills is a completely different experience and the friendly professional service from Steve and Michelle was refreshingly brilliant. When I first viewed the vehicle in the lovely clean showroom, I was left alone to fully inspect it and did not feel under any pressure. Steve then gave me a really good price on my part exchange and I went home to ponder things through. I then returned to Barker Mills, took the vehicle for a test drive and left a deposit. I pointed out to Steve a couple of minor faults and he assured me they would be done prior to collection. To my amazement, when I collected the vehicle, it was fitted with a new clutch, new brakes, 12 month MOT and a 12 month warranty, this was done additionally to the minor faults I had pointed out. I would also like to add that during collection/handover Steve and Michelle had completed all the documentation prior to my arrival so it was just a case of reading and signing the appropriate forms which was another nice touch of professionalism. I am delighted with my new vehicle and will deffinately be taking it back to Barker Mills for servicing, Mot and repairs. If your thinking of buying a vehicle from Barker Mills, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. Barker Mills is top class.

If you’re looking for a second hand car with added reassurance/ peace of mind, look no further. After not having much luck with cars, I’ve got to say, I’ve been blown away by Barker Mills. I needed a car for a commute to a new job. The car was a reasonable price- but the deciding factor was the 12 month guarantee. The hope is obviously you don’t have to use this it. Fast forward 2 months, and I feared the worst as a loud bang followed by smoke meant I was left on the hard shoulder. Too be honest, I expected to get the usual car salesman back pedalling- he’d say that part wasn’t covered, or it was an external factor- but in reality I couldn’t have been more wrong. The problem radiator was a factory fault (Googled and is a common issue with that model- so no way it could have been spotted). It happened Friday evening- knowing I needed the car for work- it was back with me Monday. Not only did Steve sort without cost, he went above and beyond. He fully tested the car to check for other issues and replaced with a brand new radiator- because in his words- he wouldn’t feel happy replacing it with a second hand replacement, even in a second hand car. He adjusted handbrake and brakes (I hadn’t even mentioned this), replaced the windscreen wiper (hadn’t even noticed there was an issue), washed the car and drove it to my house! Seriously- this is how you do car sales- and why I’m giving feedback. Second hand car buying is never an easy task but with this quality of service- I recommend Barker Mills all the way.

From buying the car, Steve was helpful and honest, got a great deal on the car which was in immaculate condition and had low milage - I am really pleased. I had a problem with the ABS and braking system this week, Steve arranged for the repair straight away, and assured me that he would sort the problem, I dropped the car off on Sunday night and it was fixed by Monday afternoon! new parts had been installed, all covered under warranty. This garage is amazing. Bought a Kia picanto the customer Service was impeccable you could not ask for anything else. The car originally didn’t have an AUX plug on it but when I asked them about it they said we will try and fit one. The next day they said ye we can do that. These guys are amazing. I’ll be using them for MOTs and any work that needs doing on the car. These guys are so loyal and friendly. Steve and Michelle were quite simply a pleasure to deal with. Around a month ago we were very keen to replace our much loved Qashqai which was sadly written off in an accident. We wanted as much of an exact replacement as possible. Following a disappointing couple of viewings at car sales showrooms near us we took the plunge on calling Barker Mills to enquire on a Qashqai they had. On explaining our predicament over the phone (that we lived in the Cotswolds and that it would be a three hour drive to Manchester to view the car), we pushed hard to ensure it would not be a wasted journey to test their Qashqai – and we were not disappointed! Steve and Michelle were superbly flexible, and following my test drive, I was left in peace to have a good look at the car and take my time. It was in excellent condition and quite frankly very good value. I was extremely glad I chose to trust Steve following speaking to him over the phone originally, as the six hour round trip to view the car was worth it!! To top it off Steve and Michelle got the car to us the following day in the Cotswolds!!! Which, as parents of a one year old, who were due to become car-less a day or two later on the needed return of the courtesy car … this was a massive weight off our minds!!! I bought a Honda civic 56 plate 2 months ago from Steve and Michelle at barker Mills after being referred by a friend who had bought a car from them, there was a minor fault little noise coming from the wheel, they have been Fantastic from day one ! which they have fixed they even took calls whilst on holiday !!! What can I say! I passed my driving test 2 days before having my little girl and as you can imagine was in a bit of a rush to find a decent car that was big enough, reliable and not too expensive. I bought my punto grande over a year ago now and the people at Barker Mills could not do enough for me!! Even a week or so later when I was having some minor issues (a sensor on the boot had gone and the heaters had stopped working) they gave me a courtesy car and fixed all the issues as soon as they could. My Mother, who unfortunately passed away just 5 months after purchasing her car from Barker Mills bought a car from here July 2018. The car was given to another family member and that family member was told in January the car was ridiculously rusty underneath. There was a lot of work to be carried out underneath and the Garage claimed it shouldn't have been sold like this without the faults being rectified. It disappointed me as I bought a Mazda in 2014, but a year after was told the car was rusty and 'knackered' underneath, it seem's a coincidence that both cars we've had from here have had the same rust issues underneath. At the time, I took in to consideration the cars age etc and thought nothing of it but with this happening to our latest car I feel like we've now been sold two cars rusty and not road worthy underneath. My advice would be to get the AA to fully inspect the vehicle after purchase or take it to a Garage and get the car on a ramp to look underneath. The lady and gentleman who sold us the cars were very friendly but both cars we've had, have had the same issues.
