I bought a 2015 Jaguar XF 3.0D Portfolio Sport from Rod and Rod about a month ago, and only have praise for the guys. I travelled up from the Southampton area, so a fair journey. I had been looking at the Jaguar on-line, and messaging for a week or so prior to the trip up, as I didn't want to make an unnecessary trip up for a bad car. To be honest I had almost made the decision to buy before I left home, but after having recently bought a rogue car that I had to reject a couple of weeks before I was very wary. I hasten to add the other car was not from these guys. Young Rod collected me from the local train station, and left me to do what I wanted with the car. I am a car nut, so had actually taken my own code reader (a half decent one, not £20 on ebay). I asked Rod if he minded me using it, and he said I could complete any inspection I wanted. I can be a garages worst nightmare with my nit picking, so shows how much trust they have in their cars. So I checked everything I could think of, finding a couple of nits to pick, which were resolved just like that, and then went on a reasonable length test drive, nothing was too much for Rod, and Rod. They are a great pair of guys, and I would take the bad reviews on here with a pinch of salt. I drove the car home, and after a couple of hours I started getting TPMS alarms, which any car can have when the batteries in the wheel sensors reach a certain age. Rod senior said to take it whoever I used locally to get it looked at, which I did. The car purely needed new sensors, which only showed up on longer drives, so the two Rod's wouldn't have known about the issue. I had the car repaired, and Rod refunded the costs without question, you cannot ask for more. The car has come with an RAC Warranty, but they side stepped the issue saying it was pre-existing. I know the RAC well, so that was no surprise. What was a surprise is how good the two Rod's were from start to finish of my purchase. If you want a reasonably priced car, and sensible sales attitude, then go to these guys, you won't be disappointed.

I bought a used Mercedes E-class from NVC this week. I initially phoned up to enquire, then visited the showroom to view and test drive the vehicle. And I collected the vehicle this morning. NVC were very friendly and polite throughout. The car was carefully prepared and the whole transaction was a pleasure. I look forward to doing business with NVC again in the future.

Very profession, brought a VW Polo and the EGR Valve needed replacing which the warranty cover however the garage offered to pay for it out of goodwill! Highly recommend.

Great service from start to finish. Bought a lovely 2018. Mercedes C Class estate. The car was immaculate and priced really well and certainly much cheaper than buying from a MB dealership. Rod senior and Rod junior were friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They made the whole experience very enjoyable. I travelled from Northern Ireland to buy the car and would certainly have no hesitation buying a car from these guys again.

Absolutely excellent. I WILL always use them. Run by a family team, I have (in forty years) never meet such a caring and polite garage. The car I bought was . 1 excellent in both presentation (body and engine). 2 serviced to the best standard I have seen. 3 The car was an excellent price. I live near Southampton and the garage is in Newcastle ( very easy to get to, just of the {A1} motorway) but was so delighted with the general standard of service I will take it there for the annual services. They will help you with your purchase and you will come away feeling delighted you bought your car from such an excellent team. Well worth the trip up to Newcastle. Thank you all for all your time. Just bought a car (7 seater) here -- excellent service, very friendly and helpful. The price was by far the best one can find in the north. There was some misunderstanding concerning the insurance, this was immediately resolved in my favour. Highly recommend!

I absolutely loved the service from this garage. Not only did they give me a full years MOT on my new car, but fixed everything that needed doing at no additional cost to the purchase price and as they are registered with RAC I received a booklet that gave me a years free breakdown cover with RAC too. The warranty was also included in the purchase price, unlike many car sales places who add such things onto the purchase price so the price goes up and up and you end up paying more than what you expected. I would definitely use this garage again and would recommend them to others.

Have bought several cars from Rod and always great service, great cars and very keen pricing - I always do my homework on pricing and there is no need to haggle with Rod as he always seems to have the keenest prices in the market - doesn’t overinflate prices just to go through the usual used car BS of haggling down to where the price should be in the beginning! No problems with any of the cars I have bought, have also used Rods mechanic to fit after sales bits and pieces.
