I called Sellcar and arranged an inspection visit after accepting a provisional quote. Ali came to inspect my vehicle and was very friendly and thorough. He explained that he'll try and get the best price for me but was honest and said there are many factors that may affect your quote and therefore not to be disappointed if it wasn't what the original online quote was. (ie realistic) After some negotiating from his end (he spoke to potential buyers in the car outside for over an hour) we managed to settle on a figure. Ali asked me what I'd settle for and he kept his word and didn't waste my time if he couldn't get that price. Although it was around £350 below the original quoting price, I didn't think I would get higher considering what Ali told me. I agreed and they sent me a £500 deposit straight away and someone came to collect the car 2 days later with an immediate bank transfer and DVLA sale notification. Very easy and stress-free. No BS like the other lying companies. I felt like I was dealing with a very reputable company with polite and honest people. Thank you Sell Car and Ali.

I have just sold my beautiful R8 Convertible to SellCarco.uk, and I can honestly say that I have never experienced such a pleasant and happy transaction. Dan and Amy were really nice people who made the whole experience really easy and relaxed. Came round as agreed to value the vehicle but on arrival they valued the vehicle £1150 under the indicated price. Something to do with the ''market on the day'', and a repair, yes something that was damaged but has been fixed.. Oh and a missing parcel shelf. Whilst I appreciate they have a business to run, I can see a lot of people being ripped off if they are in need of the sale and don't have much will in terms of negotiating. Considering these kind of places offer we'll under market value, to then knock another 15% off is frustrating but I guess it's the nature of the beast in this sector. After a fairly painful negotiation with the rep desperately upping the '' best we can do'' price, we managed to meet in the middle and they collected the car very quickly.. On the one hand if you are just needing a quick and stressless sale, I would recommend. On the other hand, be prepared to haggle as they will start low. Clearly you won't achieve anything near a private sale, but this company does visit you at home so it was very convenient and easy. The funds arrived immediately when the guy arrived for collection, the staff were easy to deal with. If money isn't your first priority I'd recommend.

Dan was great, very friendly. Gave an honest valuation, fair price. Note that the auto digital price given initially was quite a way off the price I actually got. I'd checked with a few different companies so knew how the market looked. The price from SellCar was initially the highest (electronic automatic price). The price when Dan arrived wasn't great if I'm honest. But a few minutes of negotiation and they matched the highest price I'd been able to find. Quick and easy. Would definitely recommend and will use again. Just know what your car is worth, they pay that, don't expect too much!

Good experience with the buyers Charlie and Richard. Better experience with SellCar in terms of openness and honesty than most previous motor industry experiences. Though as with any car selling or buying event it's bitter-sweet though with less of the 'let me check with my manager' sort of stuff. I had expected a lower on-the-day value than the internet guide price. The value paid was less than the phone estimate and 14% less than the online guide price. But it was still a little more than the trade-in value I'd been offered so I think everyone left the deal OK. Take the online estimate of value as an optimistic guide. It'd be fairer and clearer for companies in this market to offer a range of values rather than a spot price. I'd emphasise the importance of an accurate and verified description of the car you're selling. This makes it easier for the phone conversation for a sight-unseen valuation following the internet guide price. Try giving this information with the car in front of you as it is easy to misremember or accept a paraphrased description of details you're asked for like wheel size, appearance, and trim details. Also, make sure you have all your paperwork in order and accessible. I got to watch Charlie and Richard inspect the car. I'll not now buy a used car from anyone without getting an independent inspection of it. If SellCar made the review information available for the car when it was sold on that would be worth buying. It might also shift some of the imbalance of information present in used car sales. The staff at SellCar are keen for you to sell quickly. Makes sense. Prices of cars change rapidly sometimes. This can be one effect on the initial price Vs the price on the day. This keenness to buy does lead to a number of calls and follow up emails that I think is reasonable given the business but if you've started this process just to explore the market you might be overwhelmed. Once I'd decided to sell the car, the whole process was done in <36 hours. The actual inspection, test drive, reporting & price adjustment, & deal took about 1 hour. Funds were transferred within minutes.
