After going to several other car dealers looking for a new car i found the one at the car store Peterborough. no pushy sales people and everything was explained in detail but easy to understand which made the buying experience excellent. and the bonus of the videos explaining different things they offer. Jamaal who i dealt with was excellent from start to finish even dealing with some finance paperwork issues. I found a very minor fault with the car after just a couple of weeks which was rectified quickly and efficiently . i will be recommending the car store Peterborough to anyone looking for a new car. when i do decide to change my car in the future the car store will be my go to dealer.

First time I bought a car over a Microsoft Teams video call but Tom was great and made everything easy. The price was great, we got every document in emails and signed it digitally. We even traded our car in, all from sitting on our sofa at home in just an hour's chat. The car was then delivered to us in 2 days and the car is great, other than a squeaky brake which is going to get sorted at their local garage to their cost. Big thumbs up from us.

Surprisingly easy experience to shop online. Managed to get a teams meeting with Tom on the same day I decided on the car I wanted. Tom was able to tailor the deal to suit my needs and I was delighted to find the car I wanted at a price I can afford. Outstanding! I dealt with a lovey man called Martins, and although they’re there to sell he never made me feel pressured into anything. I had my eye on a particular car and had no idea how to pay for it. After changing my mind multiple time (HP, PCP, large deposit, part ex, personal loan 🙈) we finally got to what worked best for me and his patience and service was outstanding! I got the car delivered to me in record time and he even celebrated with me sounding equally as enthusiastic as I was. Once delivered the service didn’t stop, he helped me tax it and made sure it was insured properly so I could get in it as soon as possible! Picked up a car last week from Carstore Peterborough. Michael Sims who helped with the purchase was fantastic and kept me updated every step of the way. There were some small blemishes to the bodywork which was highlighted to Michael who promptly sorted it out in a matter of days before picking up the car. Would definitely recommend.

We bought a car from carstore on Friday and on their website it clearly said, "drive away within 30 minutes". Don't believe that! It took almost 3 hours. The whole process was excruciatingly long winded. We wanted to pay by cash but that seemed to cause a problem because they send you a link via email to transfer money but it only allows you to transfer £5000 a day and I know of no car that they sell for £5000! In the end they used a card machine which apparently means they incur a charge ( get out the violins). They are trying to push you to take out the finance option, even though it costs you more in the long run. There are endless other extras that they try to push onto you, which would add an extra £2000 to the price of the car. To be fair, the sales rep we dealt with didn't try too hard, but I suspect that most would be much pushier. We were about to take our car, after an exhausting wait, only for one last problem....the security tag on the car key. They didn't have the correct tool to remove it! Anyone would think they didn't sell many cars. Oh and if you have a problem and you email them, you are sent a generic response which is laughable. We had no problems with our sales rep called Jamaal, but it was the whole process. We have bought cars at other dealers and it's only taken 20 to 30 minutes.

Michael Sims was amazing from start to finish. My husband and I visited the Peterborough branch and found a car we liked. Test drove it and picked it up a few days later. Needed a new tyre as I've a lot of miles planned this month. Phoned Evans Halshaw Peterborough and was dealt with by Angela Davies. As is the culture at this branch, Angela dealt with my request in a very friendly and professional manner (and now that Covid restrictions have eased a bit, made me a coffee!) Following a vehicle health check, Angela showed me the video and explained about the 'Bumper' payment plan too.

James was very pleasant and managed to get us through a minor problem on the day. Very happy with PX price on our car. We were told the MOT was not due until February 2023 but were not shown a copy of the report. After getting home we managed to find it tucked away with the Service Book and found there were three advisories - one was a small chip in the windscreen, the second was a bulb needed fixing in the headlight unit and thirdly a tyre was worn and would need replacing. It seems Car Store conduct their own MOT'S and it was passed without the repairs being made. We had several email exchanges and phone calls with Car Store but the issues have still not been resolved. We would still recommend this Company but would suggest you insist on being shown a copy of the last MOT report before buying a vehicle from them.

This was my first time financing a car through a dealership, I was originally very nervous as I was worried that the sale would be very pushy and misleading. I found that everything was explained thoroughly and it wasn’t stressful at all. I dealt with Philippa and Fiona, they were really friendly, chatty and helpful. The process of deciding which car I wanted, to sorting finance and then collecting the car took about three days. Brilliant communication from both, with quick replies via email and phone calls. Overall, a really easy service, pleasant and I know that if I have any problems with my car, I won’t be left with a big bill that I may struggle to pay.

Fantastic service from Matt and Mo. I needed to sell my car as I've had to give up driving on medical advice and was a bit apprehensive about going down this route. I needn't have worried. The car was given a thorough inspection, the valuation met the online quote, with the paperwork being quickly and efficiently completed. Best of all, the money arrived in my account the same day. Whilst not the best quote I had, there were no added extras or administration fees and I would have no hesitation in recommending this company if you want to sell your car with the minimum of fuss. Whilst price is not everything, good customer service is, and I was made to feel welcome at every stage of the transaction.

Very good service, no hard pressure sales tactics. had issue with engine management light a few days after buying, nothing unusual on modern cars to be honest in my experience, was rectified with no hassles, part took a while to get but as I understand it that was due to being on back order with the manufacturer so no fault of Evans Halshaw. I was informed of a recall, which it was explained could not be carried out at carstore as has to be done by a main dealer, Ash on the service desk was kind enough to arrange to have the work done by a main dealer at my convenience with the offer of a courtesy car if required.

A very simple and easy way to sell your car. Meet by a friendly lady at reception who welcomed me with a drink and advised I would have a few minutes before Jamie would see me and look over my car. Great dealer with indoor viewing. All the staff were very friendly and was met with smiles at the door. Was given plenty of time to look at the car with no one looking over our shoulder. By the time we were ready to pull the trigger it was very near closing time and the offer was made to stay and go through he paperwork but we all agreed to leave it to the morning so that they could ensure the car had a final clean and some fuel put into the tank. I have given 4 stars, rather than 5, because of the most convoluted and frustrating telephone system. If the point of the phone system is to make you want to punch yourself in the face out of sheer anger/frustration then they have succeeded. The voice that comes on telling you to "put your phone on speaker and go make a brew" isn't helpful, professional or appreciated. It would take over 5 minutes just to get to speak to someone, and that wasn't even the right department. On the plus side, Ryan Brown, the sales executive we dealt with was everything the phone system isn't. He was extremely reliable, helpful, polite and knowledgeable about the vehicle. He wasn't pushy in any way. Mary on the reception desk is such a warm and friendly person with a great professional attitude and extremely thoughtful. Lucy was very helpful with our young children and also very helpful. It was nice to deal with a company that call you by your name and not mate, buddy, my man or pal. These have all been used at other dealerships whilst we were on our hunt.

The telephone call system is awful, every call we made just to ask a question took 25 minutes, we had to go through the same set of questions each time and be put on hold while the central call centre supposedly were connecting us to the branch, each time we were at the branch the phone lines never seemed to be busy, so there is a major flaw somewhere that lets an otherwise good carshop down. If it hadn't been for the fact they had specific cars we were interested in we would have given up long ago. As it happens we have bought a car from them at the Peterborough branch which was a painless process, due to good staff. Zac and Ryan served us well.

I bought a car from Peterborough Car Store on the 31st Dec, 20018. Within 2 weeks it developed a small leak. It was the beginning of April before they finally managed to book it in for inspection (I was waiting for a courtesy car to become available). Silicone was used to patch up the leak, but it wasn't appropriate as it didn't address the underlying problem. Within a week of getting the car back, it developed a major leak, so I took it to a local garage, where several other old faults were picked up (I have video evidence of this). I took the car back to the Car Store on the 11th May, and it's taken around 10 weeks for the car to come back to me. Not only that, after doing some background investigation on the history of the car (as I got NO HISTORY with it, even though I was told that everything was in the glovebox) I found out that in July 2018, the timing chain had snapped, and caused £4000 worth of damage! When asked about the history of the car at the time of purchase, this wasn't even mentioned! I feel that I was mis-sold the car, as vital information was withheld at the point of sale. Had I known about the previous repair, I would not have bought the car. Whilst my car was being repaired, communication with Peterborough was quite lacking, and very frustrating. Had they kept me in the loop, and up to date on the whereabouts of my car, then the long wait wouldn't have been so bad. At times, I've been at the end of my tether with them. I originally gave them 1 star, but after reflecting on the whole situation, they did do a good job of getting my car repaired, and were good enough to allow me to use their courtesy car during the time that my car was with them. They also returned my car cleaned, and with almost a full tank of fuel in it. I've now given them 3 stars. It's a shame that I can't give them 5 stars, but the lack of communication has really let them down. Hopefully this feedback will be taken as constructive, and measures can be put in place to improve on communication.. I'd just like to add that Mary & Charlie are absolute darlings. I'd also like to commend Adam on his calmness, and patience throughout this whole process. I'm now enjoying my car, as it drives like a dream 😀👍

Visited on 22.5.19 due to interest on B class which was on the website- welcomed by Michael who said there is no B class in stock but there was one while we walked around the site- (feedback - check the computer before commenting on stock) It is hard to tell from memory what cars you have got. Michael was very helpful - not pressuring at all for sale - we had lots of time to walk around the site and to view the vehicles - I really liked the site as the cars inside the building were not locked (whereas in other sites all doors are locked and have to wait for keys ) which enabled us to get a feel of the dimensions of the vehicles.Nice and clean site Michael accompanied for test drive and was very helpful ,patient when myself and my wife both test drive the b class,answered our questions,explained PCP /options in detail. Update 19 Jan 2018 Car had a small fault that turned out to be complicated to fix. Ash, service manager, sorted it all for me (even had to liaise with bmw in germany) and kept me updated daily. Super helpful and 5 out of 5 for service team. Car even cleaned inside and out ready when i collected it. Pity google doesn't allow more than one review of a company as I would have liked to post this separate to my previous. Original review December 2017: I have just purchased a 3 year old BMW from Evans Halshaw Peterborough. I can definitely say that the experience of the purchase was very good. Bradley, the sales executive, made me feel very welcome, offered me a very good trade in price for my ageing car and was extremely helpful. He explained all options to me very thoroughly. He has good the art of good customer service right. I found the car online in a branch further away and took advantage of the £49 move it closer service. In less than a week I was test driving the car and quickly deciding I wanted it. This process worked really well. Anyone reading this review may ask why isn’t the move it closer a free service, my view is the charge is quite small and it will deter timewasters. This is the first time I have purchased a car from a large dealer so was expecting the usual ‘I will ask the manager’ claptrap but got none of that, details were put into a computer and the trade in cost appeared. There was none of this knocking the cost down due to a scratch like other companies may do. Trade in price agreed, price of the new car agreed, then we went through the ‘extra options’. This is where GAP insurance, Asset Protection (extra warranty), service and MOT packages are discussed. I’ve read reviews about these from other dealers so was ready to say no to all of them as I thought they were pretty pointless. However, the cost of these all together was a pretty good price, the cost versus risk was a bit of a no-brainer for me so I went for them. Time will tell if they are as good as they sound. One slight negative was that there was a problem with the Radio (that has been been replaced with a brand new one so that was excellent), I found I had to prod the service department a few times to find out what was happening. So all in all, I would highly recommend Evans Halshaw Peterborough to anyone wishing to purchase a new Vehicle.

Even that the staff are very young and maybe not always know the answer, I felt "to be look after" during the whole process of purchasing the car. Test drive has been organised in 5 minutes which was brilliant (star for that). We've been offered to take the car of market for 48 hours for small deposit until we decide what to do (star for that). They didn't push us to purchase extended warranty etc. Of course we've been told we have a option but not necessary (star for that). No one hash push us to purchase the car on instalments (where most of garages do that) as we were paying cash (star for that). There was only one "tiny" issue, valeting (which we've been advised to come back, and we definitely will). Car has been given to us without putting GardX Paint and Fabric Protection which was promised (so no star for that). But I'm pretty sure when I'll come back they will do it. Hello there where can i start michael s served me from the start for a citroen ds3 he was amazing let me take it on a test drive twice, he really was great from start to finish was not pushy trying to get a sale, adjusted i notice to the way i talked little bit informal which was great as nothing worse than someone keep saying sir every two seconds. The service really does pay to go to a car store or main dealership you get piece of mind. He was amazing to be fair, i really did like this guy as he knew what he was talking about great communication skills he will go very far in his own carer path if he carrys on doing this. Michael was great. Did not look down at me at all which was good nothing worse than someone looking you like you are rubbish, no negitivity at all. Michael was the one with the slight long hair. Had a friendly character. Fraser then over looked everything towards the end which was great and was very polite and friendly. The host on the door did not manage to get her name but she offered me and my dad coffee. Was very chatty and smily had a good approach about her. I can say that everyone done great I wanted michael to get the deal because i know all about KPI's i really feel happy to be fair I then put down a deposit of 99£ which was great so i could sort out my insurance which stopped anyone from buying car which was a good system in place Dan g was a real G as he took all the payment and done the taxing of the vehicle . Took the payment and done the new keepers log book which was great. They make you feel at home i got there at 5 and within 55 mins to a hour the tax, i paid in full for the car and had the car put in my name and could drive out effortlessly happy knowing everything was done. The price of the ds3 was a good price too for the 16 plate i got. All of them were on it and dan g, michael s and fraser were top fellas. Big thanks. Highly recommended.
