Dealt with Tayler from the start when enquiring about an used BMW M140i.
He was very helpful and gave me all the information I asked for including some photos and service history details.
I paid a deposit and collected today having never seen the car in person....I live 100 miles away.
Everyone at the Dealership was so friendly and it was a great experience. The car was very well prepared and in great condition and somehow I felt at ease the moment i walked in the door and spoke to the friendly staff.

I recently visited the west country on a short break. During my stay I noticed an unusual humming noise coming from my car which I had purchased a few months ago from another BMW dealership.
To my surprise the guys at Ocean BMW were able to fit me in to look at the car the very next day. They diagnosed the faulty wheel bearing and replaced it the next morning under warranty. They also carried out work that was required due to a safety recall on the EGR cooler.
The service was excellent and efficient. Within two days of my BMW's problems starting they had rectified the faults and I was able to have a safe and pleasurable journey back home.

Picked up a new Z4 yesterday after Ocean sorted me out with a fantastic deal on my old one. The whole process was brilliant from trade in, to new car ordering, build updates along the way, drop off and collection from a specialist detailer for paint protection (this is going above and beyond!), and eventually to hand over day.

From the moment I walked through the door, the whole experience was brilliant - from first contact at the little reception desk (lovely coffee by the way, thank you!), right through the trade in deal, and spec'ing of the new replacement, finance settling, to signing on the dotted line for the new car. Now to wait for delivery!
A positive mention also for Toby and Mitchell in the service team - always friendly, and incredibly helpful. My current Z4 has been in to the service centre a couple of times over the last three years, for scheduled check ups/service - the service I receive is always second to none.

Have been a motorrad customer at Ocean for years. The mechanics look after my bike with professionalism and pride and always cleaned. Workshop reception staff are the best I've ever dealt with having owned numerous bikes and many cars. Always a free hot drink and a good area to sit and wait or browse New and used machines or cars downtairs. Hope they can do me a good deal on my new bike later in the year.

The dealership is fine but I booked a Mini service but they didn't tell me that servicing is not at the Mini centre but at the BMW centre, which are very different locations. So I was late and that wasted 20 minutes. I had deliberately booked it for an hour and a half wait so I could then go on to get my kids for the weekend. I waited, and waited. After 2 hours I went up to see what was happening to be told it was already finished. The man was very apologetic but it was frustrating as I was late picking my children up. The actual service seems fine but it was only an oil change service.

These guys got us in for work to be done on our car last minute. It was a massive job too. They were extremely helpful to us knowing we needed to tow our caravan back to Gloucester. They fitted us in and guaranteed the work to be done for us to drive away safely.

After a very unpleasant experience with a Ducati dealer in Essex. Which I decided to opt out of purchase in the 14 day window.
I saw a Yamaha MT 10 SP for sale on the BMW website. After an initial enquiry online I was contacted by Richard hill , He arranged a test ride and I decided to purchase. This was dealt with by Richard in a hassle free and professional manner with no problems at all.
Everything completed online without fuss. It wasn't a BMW but I received the same service as would any other customer.

Ok..my fault! I curbed the pristine alloys on our new second-hand BMW. I needed touch-up paint but not sure of the exact colour. Went into Parts Dept and given very good service by the Asst who said he would order the colour specified for the model, and if it was not right, there would be no charge. Normally garages take payment in advance! Because of his positive attitude, I will take the car to them for it's next major service. One good turn deserves another.

I used to live in Plymouth and now live in north Wiltshire, but I will never change my allegiance to Ocean BMW Plymouth. I have just taken delivery of a new M340i. R1200GS Adventure 2007; I needed some work done due to travelling. In the end this turned into more work, due to my neglect no doubt. However this was done quickly and without fuss, the bill was reasonable, an example of expertise saving money in the long run. Recommended especially if you like the view from the show rooms.

I visited ocean for routine car check up. This was pretty smooth and when I delivered my car in the morning at 9 they were clear about the expected time for the check . They explained that it is likely to be in certain time ( 2:00 pm) and they are likely to call if it was ready at earlier time and they called at 1:00 pm as it was ready and I picked up the car and it was all in a good condition with no comments at all. they were pretty professional and they sent me a link to a video of my car at the time of inspection. Of course surface is probably more expensive compared to other garage hence me giving four stars rather than five.

First time I've been here for 6 or 7 years. Used to know most of the senior staff in and out of the showroom. All retired! Went on my bicycle on rainy day. Must have looked like I had been dragged through a hedge backwards. They were very helpfull despite the fact I was dripping on their floor. I have been buying BMW's for a couple of years and despite being the biggest advocate of the brand and always maintaining loyalty to it you would not believe the amount of times I have been let down by different dealerships. Not Ocean's though. From initial enquiry with Toby Hayward in the used sales team through to final purchase the whole process was smooth, professional and exactly what I have been anticipating for years but never had. This is a family run dealership so their whole mentality to customer interaction and service was second to none compared to the massive dealerships run by larger companies like inchcape etc. Toby not only explained every detail twice to me so I fully understood everything but also went through the car in all aspects. What I like even more is that I was dealing with was another BMW lover. Some of these dealerships you deal with Salesman who do not even share the love of the brand as much as you and this reflects on their knowledge of the cars which isnt great especially when you ask questions and they do not necessarliy know the answers. All in all hats off to Toby and team for great service, you have a life long customer despite the distance. Its just a shame the dealership isnt closer to me as I would want to use them for servicing as well. All the best in the future see you in 2 years for my next BMW!

I've used ocean for over 10years,up until my latest experience they have been fantastic,however my latest experience is the complete opposite,last month the car went in for a service,when I picked the car up I was told it would need a brake fluid service very soon,however i was NOT told the MOT was soon to expire,i went to tax the car Saturday,which is when I found out I've been driving around for 2weeks with no MOT,which also means I was uninsured,I know the law States the driver must make sure the car is legal,but I can't believe you tell me the car needs a brake fluid service but you can't tell me it needs an MOT,all my cars have been supplied and maintained by OCEAN,you pay a little bit more but you have peace of mind,or so I thought,and then i find out you cant MOT it until friday😠😠i feel very very let down,its lucky i never crashed,I am willing to give you the chance to exonerate yourselves,update,I've just got off the telephone to James at OCEAN,I have been offered a discount on my next service,so I am really pleased with how my complaint has been dealt with and OCEAN have taken steps to ensure things are in place to stop this happening to anyone else,well done james and OCEAN,youve turned a negative into a positive,and I will continue to use you

I have a K1300S and i'm also a mechanic. So I like to service my own vehicles. There is a point though where you have to do a really major service from final drive oil, brake and clutch fluids to coolant, spark plugs, balance shaft adjustment and valve clearances, plus software updates. I cant stand being prompted on my instruments for a service and only the dealer could clear it. BMW Plymouth made things pleasant and easy for me, they understood my concerns and took the time to re-assure me their lead mechanic would be working on my motorcycle. When I turned up they had mistakenly not booked me a loan bike. So I wanted around for over an hour, which is fine, mistakes like this happen in any business, it's not life or death situation so I was happy to wait to see if anyone handed in a loan bike. They made me coffee, I walked around and looked at the bikes they had in stock. 5 mins before they closed someone handed in a bike! As I went to start the loan bike a member of staff came over to me and explained that the F800 they had loaned me was "not on par with your K1300S so you'll need to give it plenty of throttle when pulling away from junctions or it will stall". This he did off of his own back, out of kindness. I thought he was joking, so forgot his advice and stalled the F800 at the first junction! - Next day BMW called me to say my bike was ready. It was 5pm and I only had an hour to get from Exeter to Plymouth. When I arrived at 5.45pm one of the staff muttered that I must have thrashed the F800 to get to Plymouth so quickly. I joked it off but I stayed in the legal limits, traffic was just on my side that journey. I guess they meet all sorts but I feel if they are that worried put a tracker on their bikes and that would answer their questions in the future (or at least tell the customer its got a tracker and I suspect nobody would mis-behave). They talked me through the work that had been carried out. I wasn't shown any of the old parts (which I would have liked to see) but as the mechanic was able to describe silly questions to me like the colour and smell of the final drive oil, so I was happy. Their loan bikes are randomly handed out, I saw one guy complaining that he rode a sports bike and was offered a commuter as a loaner but the staff were professional and dealt with him with respect. You know, As a mechanic I felt my BMW K1300S was in very safe hands. Nothing these guys do is cheap but the service and attention to detail compensate for this. Plus my K1300S is properly fast now, I thought it was good before but its now very potent and i am sure the valve clearances and balance shaft adjustment played a big part. Thank you BMW Plymouth!

Good experience as a whole, only downside is the communication. Had our car in for some work, and had to ring up every couple of hours to ask for an update as it was supposed to be in and out in a couple of hours but took all day.
Trying to get information from the service team is sometimes really tough. Especially when they didn’t call me to tell me that my car was ready and I rung up 2 hours later to find it had been ready and waiting for me.
