I have been looking for 4x4 vehicle to take it for the Ukrainian army. I've heard about Sterling cars from a friend. I gave them a call and ask if they have cheap 4x4 to take it to Ukraine. The owner replied that they have couple of cars and I should come over. I had a budget of £1200 and Sterling cars made a massive discount on Volvo xc90. The car I bought has made it to the Ukraine over 2000 miles and now with 14th brigade taking civilians out from Severodonetsk to safety and I've been told already saved lives. During the purchase Customer service of Sterling cars has been great since I gave them a call till the minute I picked up the car and paperwork. Attentive staff and swift purchase. I purchased a Porsche 997 convertible from sterling cars last week, it was better that I expected and one of the easiest car purchases I’ve ever made. I test drove the car with no pressure at all about the purchase and was more than pleased, the salesman was then not happy that the car wasn’t clean enough so got his team straight on it and the results were great. I must have bought 7 or so cars, 4 or 5 in the £20000+ range from Sterling over the last few years. I rejected a few, never a problem, car wasn't for me. My daughter drives a VW Up! from there. People tend to want the lowest price with service akin to buying a Lamborghini these days. If you don't know the basics then take a mechanically minded friend with you. There are good value deals to be had at times, and you are not paying dealer prices. Always be prepared to shell out on consumables, build that into the price you are paying - and if the figures work out then go for it, I have not had any problems to date. As for those complaining about shill bidding on ebay, get real. The cars are sold at fair prices and that is the bottom line.

Very honest folks. esp Justyn was so courteous and helpful. Part ex my car with them and got a reasonable price for my car plus good price on the new car. Even the after sales service was excellent, they took the cost of repairing something that we both realised was faulty even more than a month after sale. Highly recommended and sure I’ll buy from them again soon.

Since they first came out ive always loved the new shape Volvo V90 but I've been able to afford one. I stumbled upon on for sale on facebook I messaged to enquire and it was still available. It was fairly priced (within my budget) it was a top spec, high mileage car but with plenty of service history. Asked a few questions via messenger and all seemed good, paid a £100 refundable deposit to secure without viewing and 2 days later travelled to Reading from Liverpool to see it. Sterling cars have a very laid back and no pressure sales tactic which is good to see. Took the car for a test drive and checked over the paperwork and couldn't fault it. Paid the remaining balance and drove it back almost 200 miles with no issues whatsoever! Read a few reviews about the place looking like a scrap yard etc, as you drive in there are plenty of £20k+ cars, range rovers, porches, mercs so not sure if people went to the wrong garage? I love my car so much, kia sportage 2012 it was very cheap and we were aware it needed work doing which we done ourselfs. Brilliant customer service, went to view a different car and this one caught my eye my partner was put off about the condition of some parts of the car which the previous owner did not look after the car at all, but with a small push he changed his mind we put a deposit down and went back to pay the reat and take the car home later in the week. I have bought a number of vehicles from Sterling Cars over the years, all at incredibly low prices. I have found their approach friendly, helpful, and professional. Through their eBay auction service, they provide an opportunity for the general public to buy vehicles at near to Car Auction Prices without the risk that buying from a Car Auction has. As part of the process they say "Any winning bidder can test drive and inspect the vehicle before deciding whether or not to proceed with their winning bid" Indeed I recently walked away from a vehicle that I won the eBay auction on, as subsequently I decided that the vehicle wasn't for me, and they were reassuringly fine about my decision to cancel my order. If you read through their T&C's have an open mind about the fact that the vehicle may require varying degrees of attention then they offer you the opportunity to get a great vehicle at a bargain price. I highly recommend them.

I think you are going to need to some kind car knowledge to buy from here. If the car you are buying is £5k under value then please do not be stupid and expect the car to be perfect. Very good online car auction. You bid and win the auction then you get a chance to test drive the car and if you are not happy just cancel it with no problem. Keep doing this until you find the right car for you. Highly recommended. Most of the cars are of high mileage but you can really find bargains. Good descriptions given on each car with very good photos so you know what you are bidding on. The place is one hour away from London.

We bought our car from carswithnoreservesreading through their eBay account. We were very sceptical. A few bad reviews but we went in with our eyes wide open. We dealt with Justyn and he was open and honest about the whole setup and our new (secondhand) car. We asked all the questions before we started the 120 mile round trip and we were NOT disappointed. Yes its not the prettiest of setups but we were buying a car not the land and forecourt. When we met Justyn he bought the car round for us and we were allowed to inspect the paperwork and take the car for a nice test drive before we parted with our money. Spent a huge sum of money on a recent purchase. The guys do as they say on their adds, they don't add modify anything. There car is there for you to inspect and take your time. LITERALLY! No pressure. Gave me keys and told me to take my time. So i did. Car was not perfect, but for the price i got it for, I did not expect it to be. Wrapped the deal up and was on my way. I have been there before, I didn't like the car and they were more than happy for me to not buy it. All in all a good place with a good set up and service. They buy the cars from auction so they cannot inspect them. They give you the chance to inspect a auction car.....Take someone who knows about cars if you don't! Luke is fantastic, very helpful and friendly. He’s extremely fair, allowing buyers to fully test the vehicle before committing to the purchase itself. I’ve bought several cars here over the years! More recently, I bid on eBay for a car however, due to a change of circumstances, had to cancel the purchase (gutted). It was no trouble at all, they were incredibly understanding and cancelled the sale. They also offer the opportunity to pop in and try different cars before bidding, which is a great way of looking at and driving cars you may not have previously considered. I can see the reviews however I have a very different experience. I bought a Porsche 911 4S and yes had loads of disclaimers on it. I went to pick the car up, the car was a few quid cheaper then what I would have paid so I was prepared to fix a few things as I have money in had as it were. Got there car seemed all good, went to pay, only had one key they offered to get a replacement or offer few more quid off which I took and thought was very reasonable. On there listing they do state you need to check the car and be happy. With such a high turnover of cars I can’t see how they can list every fault or even know about every fault. From my point of view prepare to fix a few bits to get the car you want at the price you got it for. If you want a perfect car you can buy retail for higher price. I got a bargain, replaced key and got serviced. Very happy!

Awkward place to get to and no parking available. Saying that, it is surprising. Very warm and welcoming staff, very helpful and open to unlimited test drives which give the potential owner plenty of time to get to know the car, both good and bad. Mine was a great experience resulting in me buying the car and feeling great driving back for 2 hours. I would recommend them to anyone and will definitely consider buying from them again. Here you can find plenty cars ,but what I totally dislike was customer service .. awful..they do not give you details about some specific cars,just let you try it and that's it.. unfortunately in this specific activity domain you would definitely need to have full skilled employees to help customers , offering details, but they really do not care about this aspect.

BMW 520d Touring 2012 Good experience, Won the car on Ebay was a bit put off by there reviews as I was travelling over 100 miles to see it. When I got there it wasn't the best welcome but they were very busy and had the paperwork and keys ready, he said take it for a test drive and take as long as you want, so I did. I took it for a 60 mile test drive on my own so no one trying to distract you, went on the motorway, back streets and any rough roads I could find took around 90 minutes. I did find that someone most likely Sterling Motors had tried to repair some of the marks on the car with white paint that wasn't even the same colour white however they did knock £50 off when I asked. Good points No obligation to purchase the vehicle. No pressure to buy it. No one watching everything you do. Very organised and everything ready when I arrived. Bad points They don't mention any bad points. If you don't live nearby it can be a wasted day and expensive if you find something they haven't mentioned. They bid up there items so if you do like a car set a price your happy with. I was happy to go up to £6,500 and ended up getting for £6,201 after I retracted a bid so I didn't have to pay £6,300. Not really sure where I stand with the "Sales of Goods Act 2015" hopefully I won't have to find out, 700 miles so far and all seems to be going well. Overall very happy Edited - 4500 miles in and the car has been brilliant not one thing has gone wrong. Really happy Thanks

They sell high mileage luxury cars, you will need to be careful what you buy . Nothing wrong with the dealer but as most of the cars are high mileage that comes with its own risks .

This is the most honest second hand car dealership I've come across. As long as you understand how they operate. You bid on a car on ebay. They tell you that they don't have time to check everything so there may be things wrong with it. You go and test the car as much as you like. They don't try to sell you anything, its up to you. If you like it you pay for it. If you don't, you walk away. No garage can realistically guarantee a second hand car, these guys are just honest about it. There is absolutely no pressure to buy, and they are really friendly and helpful. This set up may not be for everyone, but its the best car buying experience I've had.

Won on ebay, no sales pressures and no quibbles when I decided not to buy. Staff were polite and were very helpful, but they are really busy so don't expect much pandering on their behalf. Very much recommended but remember they are used cars - fresh from the auctions-, so eyes open and realastic expectations are a must, you won't be lied to but likewise they're not going to be holding your hand and making choices for you. All their cars are on auction on eBay. I won one auction for BMW X5. Went to see the car on next day. The car had some issues and I wasn't happy to buy it. There was no pressure whatsoever from the guys there , in fact they had a very friendly attitude and were happy with my decision not to buy the X5. However they had many more cars there and they are all for sale ( apart from the ones already sold). Anyway I looked few other cars and ended up buying a VW Touareg at the end. Couldn't ask for more! As people have mentioned, this isn't a usual second hand car dealership, there isn't a hard selling salesman on the forecourt trying to sell you a car, there is a load of cars that you can test for as long as you like and if you like it, buy it, if you don't...don't. I won my car on eBay, the add said they didn't have the chance to check it so I bought a return train ticket half expecting to leave it there, that's the risk YOU choose to take for a cheap car, When I got there they had stayed open 45mins late for me to arrive and the car was good, exactly as pictured, not cleaned to within an inch of its life to hide faults, one discrepancy in the add but they dropped the price as an apology and to be fair, when you place 100 car adds a week, little mistakes are going to happen. Then on the drive home the front springs snapped, this is a common fault with E class mercs, not a dodgy car, but still, gave them a call expecting to be told to 'sod off' after reading some of these reviews, quite the opposite, they paid the repair bill without the slightest quibble and were very polite about it! If you want a cheap car with no pressure and a 14 days return policy, this is the place for you, if you want a guarantee that the car is A1, pay 20-30% more at another dealer.

It's very busy auction. They have a big choice of cars and the staff are helpful. They happily let you have a look at a lot of cars. It is a bit hectic and the yard is quite full but you can find cars on budget if you are willing to do some fixing.

With these guys you have to accept that this isn't your traditional car forecourt, they state this in their literature on eBay and it's very clear that buyers, buy the car sold as seen (as with any other car auction that I know of). The main advantage of using these boys is you can walk away at any point if you don't like what you see when you collect the car and the 2 week money back if there is something majorly wrong with the engine/gear box. Don't use these boys if you want a leisurely stroll around a nice dealers forecourt with the family, it's somewhat chaotic, rough and ready and YOU take a risk when buying there (like any auction). Do use these guys if you know what you want/looking for and are in for a bargain. I bought my car for £3800, it was about £1500 more on the open market. I got it serviced and had to get some maintenace repairs on it all for about £600. Still a bargain in my eyes. If the right car came up again, I'd have no hesitations in buying from them again. Only four stars as it's quite unorganized/busy on a Saturday, cars coming and going and parking was a arse. PS: Dont be supprised if they bid against you on ebay to ensure the auction ends on a price to which they make money, afterall this is a business and they do have bills/wages to pay.
