Took my car for an MOT here as my normal garage has been taken over and they've increased their prices. The car failed but Pete and his team provided great service to get it through. They ran me home and picked me up the next day after it had to stay in overnight. He even replaced my old key fob for me

I only use this garage for convenience. As always they tried to get me to spend an extra £700 on top of the service costs with a list of things they think need doing. There is also a scratch on the door that wasn't there before and the engine warning light is now on.

The mot tester was very helpful, although my car failed the mot tester too the time to help and tried to rectify the fault but it needed more time spending on the wiring fault. I highly recommend Peter and Jack the mot tester will be back again.

I booked a re-gas for my Mercedes SUV's air con on-line with Formula One Autocentres - Southampton (Hedge End). The gent I spoke to was very helpful, giving me a quotation for the work, an appointment date and time and the approximate time that the job would take. I arrived earlier than planned, but the gent in reception told me that it was fine and to wait in the customers lounge area. The fitters started work on my vehicle immediately and the work was completed within the time quoted. I am very happy with the service provided, and the courtesy that I was afforded. I will definitely use this company again, and recommend their services to any potential customers.

Extremely honest and professional garage. Wouldn't charge me for the replacement tyre until I was happy, even asked the MOT tester to double check another garages work to see if it would fail before replacing. Overheard them tell a customer on the phone they wouldn't charge them as the garage couldn't find a fault. Great set of lads who really care about the customer experience. I'll be going back.

I needed a new tyre and I've used Formula One Autocentres several times before. You can order online using your correct wheel measurements and the availability is normally really good. I was able to get an appointment the next day, drop the car in and the tyre gets changed. Pretty simple but exactly what you want. I've never used any of their other services before other than tyre changes but I wouldn't be afraid too.

***Update July 2019*** Experience using this garage significantly improved. If changes have been made then they have been a success. All work completed on the day and good feedback provided. Original review 2017 MOT completed satisfactorily, but after a very long wait told I'd have to come back for wheel alignment check. Seemed like they'd forgotten about it! It's plainly obvious from this experience and from my last service that the garage book up too many slots and can't complete all the work in time. I will be trying somewhere different next time as I don't feel valued as a customer

Pleased with the service from F1 Hedge End - chain garages get bad press but I’ve had nothing but excellent customer service from the team here. I ordered of 18” tyres for my Audi A3 and F1 were the best price I could find online - I booked the latest slot possible on a weeknight online. I turned up on the first day to have them fitted and the guy on the desk explained that they didn’t have time to fit a full set and is there another time I could pop in. I said no issues, I’ll drop the car down on Sunday if you could do then? They were accommodating with booking a weekend appointment and also put me down for free wheel alignment by way of making up for it. On the day the car was dealt with quickly and I looked over it with no issues found - I’m fussy with my car and where it goes for work. They didn’t try and sell any other items - which I really liked too.

The Hedge End branch have always been brilliant for me. I have had several issues with my aging car sorted by them, and have been pleased every time. A couple of times I have gone in with a flat and they have found and fixed an issue with the valve or tyre seal which has cost me a lot less than a new tyre would.

Good price when booked online for tyre fitting. Wheel alignment were checked while tyres changed, it required alignment, was charged £80 excluding VAT originally, which is very expensive. I just randomly check online and found other garage charge £65 inc VAT, the manager match the price after I requested it. I feel that they didn't live up to their website slogan, "we won't be beaten on our price". Loss confidence with them around the assurance of not getting rip-off when attending this garage.

Not Up To Usual Standards on this Occasion. Booked On Line for two tyres six days in advance. Arrived 15 mins ahead of appointment and was advised it would take about 45 mins. Left car with them together with my phone number. Returned 70mins later to find my car on the lift with wheels off but nothing going on. Two fitters stood in doorway smoking. When one went to the tyre rack looking for tyres he went to the office to advise that the tyres were not in stock. No one spoke to me so after a further five minutes I asked why there was no activity on my car. Only then was I told there was a problem with my tyres and that they were trying to find some locally. Having failed to do so they fitted stock tyres that were twice the price of the ones' I had ordered! How can you have a car for an hour, take a break mid-job and then find tyres ordered six days previous are not in stock? I eventually left an hour and forty minutes after checking in with a much better tyre than I needed so they got there in the end! A bit of a shambles really as there was no one else in the waiting room and were not really busy! I have used this depot for over 12 years and always been happy with the service and prices so this is just a blip but you maybe wise to ask a few questions on checking in rather than assume all is in hand!

Booked into get my service, dropped it off early and was completed by midday - absolutely wonderful - however they also wanted an additional £350+ for ‘work’ required to my 2 year old car. Safe to say that I only paid the £60 for my service stamp!

Found superb price on line with this Company, extremely hard to beat and you were able to use an additional voucher saving you a small but important £8. Booked in for the last appointment of the day 1630, greeted by an extremely polite and professional manager who took my details, keys and wheel security locker & confirmed the tyre details. The Team was running slightly late (10 mins) but soon caught up and had my Wife's car back to me by 1745 fully done with a free summer check over included in the price. Prices are good but punctuality not. Booked online but had to wait more than an hour beyond appointed time before work started. Problem with strange noise after fitting which was sorted rapidly though it just seemed to 'go away'. Tardiness gave me negotiating leverage on getting alignment cost reduced so every cloud etc

The usual exceptional service from F1. MOT booked in Sunday at 11am - car (my sons) failed on three items but the guys were able to source the parts and complete the repair within 3 hours. Very helpful, and saved an awful lot of hassle today. Would thoroughly recommend F1 to anyone.

I booked a slot for 4.30 and payed online for four tyres. I arrived twenty minutes early they said it would be at least an hour as they were very busy. The van was ready to drive out at 4.45. The staff were very polite and helpful ,I will definitely use them again.

Would rate higher, but didn't get the right impression here and was initially disappointed to be told that the recharge couldn't be done, as no staff were available. Booked on line. Said be there 10 min early so I was there 8.20 for 2 tyres. Total time to finish was 1hr 15 min..... don’t know why so long, car didn’t go into bay till 8.50. Had a tyre repaired just before Christmas. Manager was rather apologetic when we arrived, as we would be fourth in a queue, after booking online: the online system doesn't appear to update the site calendar so there would have been the possib ilioty of turning up to find they couldn't fit us in. As it was, the service was brilliant and the repair was completed pretty much perfectly as we finished our shopping and coffee across the road. I'd heartily recommend the service with the small proviso of ringing direct to arrange the job rather than relying on the online system

Booked in for a puncture repair. Unfortunately the hole was close to the edge so un-repairable. Offered a stock replacement on the spot or wait a couple of days for a matching tyre to be ordered. Went for the matching tyre and it was fitted a couple of days later. Orignal cost of the repair booking refunded. They did everything right to sort this out.

OK so we had a little bit of snow on the ground but when you are asked to turn up 10 minutes before a pre booked appointment time & then the car was not looked at for another over an hour afterwards, with no justification from the staff. Overall pleased with the price I paid for the tyres but very disappointed with the lengthy delay.

Would have given 4 stars, but there was a cockup on their logistics system. Had ordered 4 tyres via the Formula 1 website - good price due to New Year promotion, ordering of tyres included booking an appointment for fitting - seemed all good. But evening before fitting got a phone call from Simon (Hedge End Manager) that only 3 tyres had been delivered - the 4th was completly the wrong size. So 3 tyres fitted at booked appointment and waited almost all day for phone call that missing tyre had been delivered. In the end I had to call the Hedge End centre, and arranged to come in early the next day to get the last tyre fitted. So what could have been a smooth - dare I say slick operation, ended up with 2 trips to the Hedge End centre. I sensed Simon and his colleagues were as frustrated as I was. A shame the guys at the sharp end are let down by their delivery men, so sorry 3 stars.

Full service, rear discs, wheels aligned & balanced, price was less than Halfords quoted, work completed on time, friendly staff, had minor problem with balance at 70mph so phoned them up and they said drop in anytime that suited me and they would fix it which they did. Had a regass of the air conditioning in a Mini I just purchased. I recently also had my Porsche regassed by them. Both times the staff were friendly and offered a great service. I have been using them for several years for tyres, MOT's etc and not had a problem. Prices are always the most competitive I could find. They are busy but will fit you in, I have never had to wait too long. We will be going back when we next need tyres etc.

I had my front left tyre replaced by Formula One a few months back and was impressed with their service but the second visit today really showed how good they are. I turned up at the reception desk at 10 to 5 (5 being their closing time) and with a face like a smacked arse because about 10 minutes prior, my wife had pulled into our drive and came running into the house screaming that the front right tyre was making a hissing noise. *Perhaps rather stupidly, I dashed to Formula one but am happy to say that they replaced the tyre, which had quickly lost most of its pressure by the time I had arrived. They didn't make me feel bad for coming in at the last minute and pushed the boat out to get the work done after what was most likely a really busy day. I even offered the guy who did the work a KFC for being a last minute through the door a-hole but he politely declined. I cannot recommend these guys enough. Thank you!

MOT booked in for 1530 already booked 2 new tyres as I knew they would be needed, MOT completed as a fail due to tyres.. why? how come the inspector couldn't see that straight away and have the tyres put on, then had to wait till after 6 for a re test.. by the time I got home my hands were black with oil/dirt off my steering wheel not to mention my work trousers and coat, it came from the tester/ wheel guy who had put dirty oily hands on it

Friendly staff, and reasonable prices, but also very slow. It took 1h20m to change over 4 alloys and put 2 new tyres. Reason? The guy took the car in, and then went on his lunch break (15min gone there), additionally food must have sad badly as it affected the speed of work. Lessons learned: - Don't go at lunchtime - Formula One in the name is not a reference for speed of service, but more the minimum waiting time. (not the first time I experience this here, but I gave a second chance) - Go elsewhere

Booked an MOT and short sevice on the website, it tells you to be there BEFORE 08;30. Get there 08;20, THEY'RE NOT OPEN! Don't open till 08;30!? Confused, so book car in, MOT will not be done till 10;30??! and then sevicing. Nothing wrong with the work they did just sort your web page out, did I need to sit through all the rush hour traffic to get there - NO - or my mate who came to give me a lift home, scheduling guys - sort it out.

Always a good service - I always research prices pretty thoroughly , and they cannot be had cheaper than from F1 (fitted and balanced).I always go for a branded tyre as budget ones compromise too much, so F1 always offer the best deal.I had my car booked in for 0900hrs , I arrived at 0855 , handed my keys in and walked across to MacDonalds to get a coffee.Walked back and sat down for maybe 3 minutes before my car was ready.
