But, getting the registration and insurance sorted out was a nightmare, as the vehicle could only be registered when we arrived to collect and insurance organised before we could take home.
The systems were slow and the insurer's could not find the correct spec.

My experience at West Way Nissan Southampton has been positive as far as the staff were concerned. However, the vehicle I purchased went wrong at the end of its first journey. I don't believe this is the fault of any of the staff - just one of those things. The car has now been with them for 9 days and counting. I have been told it could be a week or two more, because it has needed to be sent to the specialist EV depot in Swindon. Despite this, I have been supplied a very nice loan car at no cost, so my inconvenience has been kept to an absolute minimum.

Recently purchased a car remotely through West Way Southampton. Everything was done online and via email and was very convenient. Kennedy in sales was easy to work with, not pushy at all! The process was very smooth!
I had a few cosmetic issues with the car when it came but credit to the dealership and to Kennedy in sales, she sorted everything and came back to me quickly with a solution.

I was able to check my car on the day before, doing relevant paperwork online, I was kept up to date during the day and was able to authorise a small additional payment for work needed on my phone. Contacted Westway as had to source a locking wheel nut key. From initial telephone call to site visit I received professional service. Guy from parts was great. Sourced the correct key in no time, ordered it and called to advise was available to collect within 24 hours of my initial visit. He was polite and answered all my questions. Westway Southampton has exceeded my expectations in every way. They were swift in responding to my questions regarding the Nissan Leaf. They also allowed me to spend time with the car to ensure it would work for my life, and meet my requirements. When the car was ready the team let me park my hire car at the dealership until Enterprise could collect it back (48 hours). There was one small issue in that my car had a small scratch on the boot, and this has been sorted quickly to my satisfaction with no fuss at all. I could name individuals like Zak, Paul and Craig but to be completely honest the whole team in Southampton made my leap into electric car ownership a totally stress free experience.

I have recently (2 weeks ago) been in to have some work done on my car. It wasn't until i had a near miss this evening I went to check my Dash Cam footage and find that its disconnected - this happens every time I take it into your garage.
If your engineers are that camera shy or what’s more concerning are, they doing something they shouldn’t and feel the need to disconnect customers cameras. And while on that point If they don’t feel comfortable connecting it again after should they do wrong at least tell the service reception staff what you have done.
Better Still put this on the handover check sheet “Your dashcam may have been disconnected as part of your service” and make the customer aware before there is incident that relies on Dash Cam Footage

However saleman made too many mistakes. I had no tyre repair kit, one kicking plate was missing. Saleman during handover told me to contact service department... Also during handover I spotted crack on the windscreen which wasn't when I test drove the car. Saleman asked me if I'm happy to replace it via my insurance... I refused. Very bad communication with the saleman after handover.

Great place to get electric cars from the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Martin in commercial vehicles could not be more helpful. If you are looking to make the change then pop in and borrow a car for a weekend.
Nissan is the biggest seller if electric vehicles and this is a great place to get them from.

Disliked is strong. Its a small dealership stuck on the rim of a major roundabout off the M275. If you miss the exit into their forecourt youve a long detour.
That aside, i waited almost 2hrs to have a key programmed. Having spoke to several service people, by email and phone, non seemed to have a accurate understanding of the job it was booked in for.
I normally have the nissan serviced elsewhere, nothing i saw at Westway is likely to change my plans.

In short... Excellent! Jo (from the parts department) was an absolute delight to deal with. Knowledgeable, competent, extremely professional and very helpful. Past experiences with Westway (approx 12 months ago):
You just want a quick price or have a couple of questions about a deal and before you know it the sales person pretends to be your best friend whilst offering you a deal which is borderline disgraceful until it's time to scuttle off to a faceless manager with a better deal which is still rubbish yet they can't see what the problem is. 2 hours plus of your life you will never get back, kids kicking off, wife bored and just wants a car, a particular car in a particular color.
Present experience with Westway (last month):
So it turns out, Westway have had a shake up of staff and service and what a great shake up it has been. Current car finance was up and thought I would give it one last chance to see what they could do and I dealt with Craig Pullinger. Absolute top bloke, firstly for getting the brunt of my frustrations, apologising (although he didn't need to) and dealing with me as a person, not a target. I gave him what I felt was a straight forward ask: I'd like this car in this color, I'd like your best price and I only want one price. The first price you give I will look at, if it's good enough we have a deal, if it's not, I walk away and go somewhere else. Craig was a legend on how he dealt with it, he understood what I wanted, sat down, worked some magic and said this is the best he could offer and if I want it he can get the car on xx date, if I don't, no worries, there is nothing more he can do. All wrapped up in 20 minutes. Subsequent communications around car delivery dates and extras were all dealt with effortlessly, quick call or email from either Craig or Kennedy. I had to pop back in a couple of times as he also arranged and booked an MOT for me directly to save me the effort. I then met Kennedy who was also awesome, really friendly, helpful and just like Craig, was happy to help with no hidden agenda of trying to get more money.
The car arrived when they said it would and Kennedy even offered to stay a bit later for me to pick it up as I was working, it's the small things like that which make you realise they are genuine nice people. Each time I did pop in for one thing or another, Craig or Kennedy or both would pop over for a friendly chat. On the day of collection, they were both there and I was also introduced to the manager (Terry I think?). He wanted to get some feedback to how the experience had been and I obviously gave credit where it was due. He was also a nice guy and said that his door is always open if ever I was unhappy about something and it wasn't getting resolved.
Top marks for this team ! Will definitely be back ! Thanks to Craig and Kennedy for a painless experience with the added benefit of dealing with great genuine people.

I have had 2 recent dealings with both the Service and Parts Departments at Westway Nissan Southampton. Firstly I had a warranty issue with my recently purchased X-Trail (17 plate) and Alan Rawe in the service Department could not have been more helpful. I was kept fully informed of the cars progress throughout and I could not have been more pleased with the level of service I received from him and the two technicians involved. Secondly, I dealt with Jo Lassetter in the Parts Department who really 'went the extra mile' to get me a mislaid set of fitting instructions for some accessory side steps that had been removed by the previous owner. The fitting kit was complex and Jo managed to get a set of instructions from Nissan UK and emailed them over to me on a PDF file. Went there to top up my nissan leaf on there fast charger. But somebody had got there first and pushed the emergency botton by misstake so in stead of it only taking about 15 minutes we were there for almost 3 hours. and in all that time we were treated to copious amonts of coffee and apologies while they went out of there way to get me on the road back to Oxford. Good work lads. Take control of the fast charger next time though .
