Edit - I was contacted by the garage who have sorted the issue and added my service to my service book. Went in for a service but they can't put it on my digital service book for my Mazda. Rang the service line and they basically said not their problem. Even called a Arnold Clark Mazda dealer who said they couldn't update it, even though they have access, as they weren't the ones to do the service.

After being let down by another garage, and left in need of buying a car quickly, I contacted Arnold Clark and spoke with James Barker. He was extremely pleasant and friendly on the phone and put the car on hold until I got to the dealership to view it. When i arrived James made myself and my wife very welcome and answered all our questions regarding the car which I ended up buying. This garage and in particular James shines when it comes to after care which is something I have regularly been let down by at numerous other car dealerships. I had a few small issues which were covered by the warranty and instead of having to argue, it was sorted hassle free. If myself or my family need another car in the future, I would not hesitate going back to James as he has been excellent from start to finish. Thanks Simon

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Went to Arnold Clark Hanley to browse for daughters first car (a surprise for her 18th birthday). Joshua Wall was absolutely fantastic and made everything so easy for us. He went above and beyond to make it unforgettable for our daughters birthday. Josh prepared flowers, balloons and chocolates around the car for the big reveal. Our daughter was completely overjoyed, we couldn't recommend Josh enough! He is a total asset to the company, thanks Josh!

Bought a car from here a few years ago (which I've still got). They're a little high on their prices but it's too be expected from a main dealer. I had a few issues with the car in the first 6 weeks or so but they were all fixed under the 60 day warranty. Would consider them again when it's time for a newer car.

I went to Arnold Clark looking for a Vauxhall Adam that I had seen on the website. I was very impressed with the service there, in fact I was greeted by a team member outside before I even stepped foot in the place. The lady that served me was called Karen, she made me feel really at ease (as sometimes i find it slightly intimidating in car showrooms!) I travelled 250 miles from Cornwall as Arnold Clarke had the exact vehicle in the right colour combinations that I was looking for. Well it was worth the long journey, Karen the sales lady whom I had been speaking to by telephone was brilliant, very friendly, knowledgeable, explained everything in detail, offered a fair PX along with a good finance deal. The showroom is modern and clean. My car came fully valeted and seviced up to date and I managed to negotiate a decent discount. I have recieved a follow up call from Karen to make sure all is well which so far everything is. My only complaint is why don't you have a branch in the South West ? Also the Sales Manager personally took the time to thank me for my business (good old fashioned manners go a long way in my book) I will certainty go back when I'm ready for a change of vehicle. Smashing tea, coffee, and buscuits also. ☺

Just purchased a vw tourareg from Arnold clarke in stoke and im over the moon with it. However there have been a couple of issues with it. I've noticed an oil leak after a few days of owning the vehicle and unfortunately there is a 5 week waiting time for the service team to look at it so i had to pay an independent garage to take a look at it as i was concerned . It turned out to be nothing serious but still cost me £110 to fix. I contacted them thinking they would do the right thing and help with a contribution but they said without proof they wouldn't help me and if i did prove it they would look into it . I also feel that josh didn't describe the vehicle as he should have.. i admit the weather was bad when we viewed the car but when the video was sent over he described it as being in excellent condition but after cleaning it its from that as almost every panel as scratches on them so now i have to pay another £100 to get it polished so upto yet im £210 out of pocket. In future I'll never view a car in bad weather.. What i will say though is that buying the car through Neil Armitage was very straight forward and he did all he could to help us with the purchase. Just disappointed with the aftercare.

Took my car in for a recal which was for a particula model and was related to the handbrake. When I took it in it was MOT standard, no more than 4-5 clicks of the ratchet but now Arnold Clarke's have had their hands on it, it now takes 7 clicks of the ratchet to engage the handbrake,, I'll change my review and not add the other shocking service no no's that took place if it's corrected in the morning.
