Aston was brilliant at helping us with purchasing a new car. I found what I was looking for online on the recommendation of Chris from St John's branch and got a test drive that evening. My dad and I went to look at it and it looked brilliant, drove lovely, had full service history and generally looked like it had been really well looked after. Bought a car at this award winning second hand dealership and I highly recommend it!! My purchase, and you can read a full breakdown on their own Chequers Cars Chobham star ratings, was incomparable to others in the area. The staff are very pleasant, helpful and professional. I purchased a Nissan Note 7 yrs old and 39k on the clock but it is immaculate and it drives and operates like its immaculate appearance both in & out. If you want a second hand car, and I have spread the word among friends, this, for me, will be my first choice without any hesitation, brilliant. By the way, in my star rating with their own site I only gave them 4 stars. I gave them a great review but dropped a star as a few weeks later I discovered that the back seat wouldn't go down and that the device was broken. Half an hour after I left that review they called me and asked me to bring the car in and ordered the part and repaired it 👏!!!

Just bought a Van /MPV from them. Highly professional, and friendly service. They don't muck about with over explanations if their Diamond warranty. It's all there in black and white for you to read. I felt no pressure into buying. They're just an absolute pleasure to deal with. Family owned and you get that impression too. Summary - Exceptional. My wife and I were recently in the market for a new car and exchanging our old one, and had decided on a Honda Civic. After much searching for the right model, year and colour (with some less than savoury visits to some other dealers), we happened upon Chequers Cars, offering the exact model we were looking for at a great price. We parked up and were greeted by Gary in a very friendly manner, and he allowed us to look over the car at our own pace, letting us to test drive there & then, whilst Chris valued our Citroen. At this point, I have to add Chris was also exceptionally welcoming and both Gary and Chris made us feel very at ease, with this being the first time we've purchased a car from a used dealership. Once we had test driven the Civic, we were sold, so Gary processed all of the paperwork effortlessly, and we drove away amazing happy customers, leaving our old car in good hands as part exchange. Unfortunately, the clutch pedal developed a squeaking noise shortly afterward (I must add, this is no fault of Chequers, this is an occasional issue with some Civics). However, I called Gary to let him know, and at this point, the service went from 5 star to 6 star. Gary and his team identified the issue very quickly, ordered the required part from Honda, and even arranged to have my car collected from my work in the morning, fixed whilst I was at work, and dropped off the same day! I'm pleased to report the problem is fixed, the squeak is gone, and we are enjoying driving the Civic more than ever. Genuinely and honestly, the best service and aftercare I have received in a long time, and I would highly recommend Gary, Chris and Chequers as a whole. A completely different experience buying a second hand car from Chequers . A good selection of smart looking vehicles are available to be seen at what appear to be fair prices. There was no pressure selling, just a really professional and friendly meeting. Visited The Lightwater branch, with friends, to test drive a vehicle we had viewed online - the car was ready and waiting for us to take out. No one accompanied us on the test drive so again, no pressure at all. The car was everything promised on the online description and Serge took us through the purchase process and even made a fair offer on my old car in part exchange. The car was taxed for me and delivered to my home and my old vehicle collected, as promised, saving the need for a further visit to the garage. First, like most people I'm very sceptical about used car dealers and like most other people have had bad experiences so naturally am cautious and do my research. This dealer is the exception to the rule. I just bought a used Mitsubishi Colt 2009. The service I received is one of the best I've seen and an exemplar to the rest of the trade. Chequers put you, the customer, at the heart of their operation. No pushy tactics, just honest straightforward negotiation, and they keep their word. If you have any concerns dealing with them then don't. Car was excellent but when I got home I found was missing a feature they'd advertised in error - they sorted it out no issues. The other 5* reviews you see here and on the web bear out my own experience with them. I would buy again from them with no hesitation. I drove a 9hr round trip from home to Chequers to drop off my p/x and pick up my new car. I'd do that drive again in a heartbeat for the piece of mind that dealing with Chequers gave me. I have just had a superb experience with Chequers Cars. I have purchased three cars in the past from them and all proved really good vehicles, so I was quite happy to approach them again. I wanted a really good Honda CRV and approached Chris Roach asking him to find me one. He took great trouble and time finding it. The car was excellent and I had a good test drive before agreeing to purchase it. Once agreed, it was put through the workshop where it was thoroughly checked serviced and cleaned. Overall it was a good experience. I travelled quite far based on the reviews and the guys at Chequers delivered in terms of customer service most definitely. There was no wiggle room at all on the price which was disappointing especially as I received a document with my car which showed the price they had purchased it for - £1100 cheaper than what I paid to them. I took my car in yesterday for a full servicing and the garage advised that my brakes were at a dangerous level, despite the fact I have only driven 2.5k miles and am naturally a very gradual braker. Yesterday's visit cost me £400 after 9 months with car. I did email Chequers some months ago about the brakes as they'd begun squealing but didn't really get anywhere with them. Overall I'd say the service was really great, all questions answered after the fact, but I'm not sure I'd use them again as I feel if you're making such large profits you need to ensure the product is top notch.

I recently bought a car from Chequers Cars at their Lightwater branch and had a great experience. I phoned before hand and explained I was looking at their Renault Clio and was told I could pop in that day to take it for a test drive. When I got there the Clio was sitting out ready for me to test drive. I popped in to say hello and was given the keys so I could take it for a test drive. The area is great to test drive in as the roads are very quiet so you can just focus on getting a feel for the car and not navigating traffic. When I came back there was absolutely no pressure to take the car. We had a nice chat and I asked a few questions about the car, all which were answered perfectly. I was a bit confused over where the spare tire was, and he came out and showed me where it was and how to take it out. Immediately I loved the car and bought it there on my credit card. All the paperwork and forms were taken care of for me and he went over the car log showing me the services it had. I have been driving the car for just under a week now and everything is perfect. The no pressure, informative and relaxed atmosphere really helped me make the right decision myself and I could not be happier. As a bonus he even offered to drop the car through the car wash for me, but to be honest it was so clean already I just wanted to take it back home immediately. I could not recommend Chequers Cars highly enough and when the time comes to get another car Chequers Cars will be my first choice. They are fantastic.

We brought a low mileage Renault Clio for our son. The car was in amazing condition with only 28K, great for a 2012 car, looked like new! The price was good too. No pushy salesmen. I recently purchased a vehicle from Chequers Cars after a number of weeks deciding which car would best suit my family. The car was the best value for money nationwide and therefore I couldn't really grumble at not being able to haggle for any more cash off. I have never felt less pressured in a showroom before, a total contrast to the big car supermarkets where you are jumped on as soon as you enter through the door. A test drive of the vehicle was arranged and we were able to take the car without either Mark or Gary being present which we both found beneficial. There were a few minor scratches which you will always find with a used car, but as we had travelled someway to buy the car Mark agreed to get the paintwork touched up while we went for some lunch. Just as we were about to drive away we noted that the locking wheel nut was missing, we were unable to find it, but without hesitation, Gary and Mark told us to take it to our nearest dealership and get the wheel nuts replaced and they would pay for the replacements. This was done the following day and Gary good to his word paid for the replacement without quibble. The log book was missing from the vehicle but I've been assured by Mark that this is something that will be chased up and forwarded on when they have located it. There is an option of an extended 12 month warranty (15 months in total) for £200 which looks excellent value for money, fingers crossed we don't have to use it! I would recommend Chequers Cars to anybody and would look to buy another car from them in the future.

We had bought a nice little Fiat 500S just after Christmas and the customer service we received was amazing, from the moment we looked at the car, to the test drive and also attending to a couple of minor jobs before we picked it up, everything was smoothly executed. Fast forward to mid February and the exhaust started to blow first thing in the morning when the engine was cold. We left it a couple of days until the weekend so we could have a better look and it turned out to be a broken exhaust manifold stud. We rang Chequers cars to see how we stood with a warranty claim to be told "give me 20 minutes to sort something out with our friendly garage then give them a ring" We rang the garage (Macs Autos) and they could not have been more helpful (unless they could move the garage closer to Bagshot station) Car was booked in for the Friday and duly dropped off. We had a call from them to say it was proving difficult and the car would not be ready until Monday, but mid afternoon they rang again to say it was all done! We cannot fault Chequers cars or Macs Autos and hope they read some of their reviews.

I can’t recommend Chequers Cars highly enough. I arrived late in the evening to see a Honda Civic, it was dark and Chris (the owner) advised to go to a petrol station too see the car in full light which was great as it is not good to see a car in the dark. They had only just got the car in and I purchased the car and took the car immediately. A few days later there was an intermittent problem with and I took it to a local franchised dealer who diagnosed a problem with a very high repair cost after stating they couldn’t find anything the first time round. I called Chris and he said bring the car back immediately and they would check it and fix it. They spoke with the franchised dealer to find out what they had found and the franchised dealer could not explain themselves. Chris stated that if there was a major problem they would give a full refund and give me my part exchange vehicle back (Chris stated this to me numerous times which was very reassuring) or fix it. They stated they wanted me to have full confidence in the car and would ensure that I did. I left the car with Chequers who kept me in the loop of what was going on. The car needed a bit of work so whilst it was being done he gave me my old part exchange vehicle to use so I had a car. They also offered to deliver the car to me as I lived quite far away if need be. Chequers found a problem and then fixed the car and put it through a franchised dealer for a health check which showed the car was fine and my local franchised dealer had given an incorrect diagnosis. They put the car through another franchised dealer as a private owner (Chris) also to ensure that there were no favours done for trade. Chequers provided all paperwork from the franchised dealer and also, balanced and tracked the car, put new discs and pads on the car all at their own cost just to be sure everything was fine and ensure I was confident in the car. The car is driving great now and I have had no problems. A brilliant and honest service with very good communication and a willingness to ensure the customer is happy. Chris was a very nice and personable guy to deal with. I would definitely purchase a car again from them.

I’m delighted to say that dealing with Chequers Cars was an absolutely top-class experience, from the very first contact to conclusion of the sale. My parents-in-law, who are based in Edinburgh, had asked me to source a replacement Mercedes A class for them. I forwarded to them details of several candidates I had identified on the net and they asked me to investigate further the car offered by Chequers, as it was equipped with specific options they wanted and was very reasonably priced. I have recently bought a VW Polo from this company. I found them to be as helpful as I could have hoped (picked me up from railway station and happy to take me back regardless of how much interest I showed in the car) They let me take the car for a test drive unaccompanied which shows a high degree of trust. The car was in great condition, but not over-prepared to the point at which you wonder how many defects have been covered up. Not very negotiable on the price, but even this I didn't mind as I think the asking price was fair. I felt that unlike many other car dealers I have recently visited, here are people that can be trusted and want your repeat business. I'd certainly have no problem going back next time I need a car. I am adding this postscript to say that my Polo has just started suffering from an intermittent electrical problem which has now been dealt with by my local workshop (of my own choice - I live 150 miles away), the bill paid without hesitation by Chequers Cars. I felt that I got a pretty good deal and a car I was happy with. Unfortunately, there was a technical fault with one of the windows which happened shortly after we purchased it however their aftersales services was very good and they organised a repair very quickly. The second window also developed a fault shortly after the repair, again they took care of this efficiently and promptly. Apparently Megane's typically experience problems with their windows so it was nothing to do with the garage but it was a relief to have someone so responsive to ensure that we were completely happy with the car

This second hand car showroom is changing the public's perception of this business; it get's multiple 5* reviews and justifiably so. My daughter and her boyfriend were both in the market for cars, both looking for Fiestas. There was a selection of 6 on show, Matt showed us around initially and allowed us to freely look around with no pressure. When asked to show us the records of the cars, he patiently sat with us and demonstrated all the documentation. The cars were chosen and reserved whilst the buyers thought about their options overnight. When the time came to buy the cars and exchange funds and documents, Gary stayed especially late for us, rather than leave it to the weekend. You won't be able to haggle the prices down much (if at all) as the cars are clearly carefully preselected, competitively priced and sell themselves. But you might be able to get a limited warranty, new tyres, a valet, etc thrown in. After sales; one car had a blown cigar lighter fuse, a dreadful fault for members of the smart phone generation, but easily fixed by ourselves. The other developed an annoying squeak from the gearstick gimbals after 3 months, but was fixed in house by Chequers. Simply put, Chequers can't be praised enough. My eldest daughter is now looking for a new car and will be visiting Chequers.

When it came to the money side of things Gary gave us the figure all purchasers are interested in how much to change, another surprise bang on the figure I had in mind.. The car came fully prepared,serviced and MOT'd with 12 months road tax.We had a cherished plate transfer to carry out and it was no problem for them to wait for the time it took to carry this out. All in all the whole process was carried out in a most professional manner by everyone involved and we are more than happy with every aspect of both car and dealer.
