Reviews of McLaren Technology Centre
What an impressive technology centre
Super clean tidy no clutter perfectly maintained well organised
It’s the combination of art architecture speed science technology engineering corporate marketing bespoke production and heritage
Words is insufficient to describe it you need to be there to feel and absorb the atmosphere
I had sense of walking into the future when arriving at the Technology centre. Set by its own lake the part-museum part-factory is a large modern building. There are conference rooms and a factory tour to be taken (on invitation) which give an insight into the mechanics of running a Formula 1 and supercar production company. The host was very professional and knowledgeable of McLaren and no question was too tough. There are some iconic older F1 and supercars on display as well as a very long trophy room stretching back. Staff were friendly and polite.
Excellent tour of an amazing facility.
Very impressive building. I am a huge F1 fan so the tour was amazing. The history of McLaren is really interesting and it is nice to know more. The cars are extremely impressive in person.
Impressive building for architects and car enthusiasts!
Architecturally the attention to detail is amazing and the cars exhibited there are priceless !
Great building
Unique experience and great hosts!
As a McLaren member, I entered and won a competition to watch the Brazilian GP from MTC. What a memorable day it was.
All the winners were able to take a +1 to enjoy the day so I took a friend. Upon arrival we parked in the guest car park and from there we were taken by shuttle bus to the MTC from the car park. As we came through the MTC doors, the hospitality staff guided us to the cloak attendant who took our coats and then directed us to the previous years show car. There each person had their picture taken with the car.
Then we walked down the boulevard past all the iconic cars from past to the present, all the history was present in all its glory. At the end of the rows of cars we were treated to drinks and some nibbles. We had the chance to freely check out all the past F1 cars and take pictures of them, there were no ropes stopping us from getting close to the cars, we were able to touch them, peer into the cars and see everything in full detail.
I also got the chance to experience the simulator and attempt to drive the car around the streets of Monaco.
We were then split into groups and then taken on a tour of the MTC with our guide. He allowed us to check out the 2018 car which we had our photos taken with on arrival, he explained the history of all the F1 and street cars. We were taken through the factory and into the one of the bays where we practiced changing the tyres on a race car. We also got to see the production lines for the road cars and see the various models being made.
Finally we were taken to the area where we were going to watch the race. We were also served dinner here. The food was themed on Brazil, everything was fresh and very tasty, something you would expect from the high standards set by the McLaren F1 team.
We had a few screens setup in from of us so one of the engineers came from Mission control to explain what we would be seeing on them and he also explained more on the teams expectations.
During the race, we were taken to the Mission Control room where the team analyses and communicates with the team in Brazil, we were able to listen in to everything that was going on during the race, it just seemed surreal. We also got to see all the trophies and ask any questions about them.
At the end, we were all given a goodie bag and then taken to our cars by shuttle bus.
We were certainly made to feel special, no expense was spared, it definitely was a VIP experience like no other.
Truly spectacular. If you like supercars this is your place and this is your car!
I was lucky enough to get a tour. Great building, I was shocked to know it was 15years old. McLaren has such a wonderful history and to see a collection of old cars and trophies was amazing.
A fantastic venue, with great staff and gorgeous cars. Been here twice for the McLaren+ Members Day and also for a tour, both times we've been excellently looked after and would definitely return for another event.
