Travelling from Sussex to purchase a car in York was something of a "leap of faith" for us especially as the phrase "if it looks too good to be true........." was much on our mind. Nevertheless we are very pleased with the vehicle and are enjoying it every day. The confidence to travel to York was supported by all of the positive reviews we read about the dealership and the hand over process was quick and efficient, we drove home with the new vehicle a couple of hours after arriving The offered trade in value for our existing car was honoured despite being valued unseen and I thought this a key indicator of the dealership's integrity. From first viewing of the car we were interested in the service by Stuart was first class, with no pressure, but attentive when enquiring about the details and history. A test drive was offered as soon as we were interested in buying, with a full account of how the car would be prepared before completing the purchase. Year 3 third service and MOT : I cannot fault this garage : outstanding value for money : extremely friendly and welcoming customer service : it's Covid19 secure : courtesy car no problem my car passed with one advisory but Stuart explained that given the extremely low mileage per year it would not need doing until next year : he also explained that I'd probably need new discs and pads but again having examined them as part of the service they shouldn't be any problem - real value for money and more importantly a genuine garage that you can trust not to rip you off - I cannot speak highly enough of them ! It's now second service and second MOT as of 10/09/19. Excellent service again - courtesy car provided regrettably it failed on the horn but as always Stuart was superb . Rang at midday to inform me of the horn and then at about one rang again to say it was ready for collection . Service: MOT + horn for less than £200. Amazing garage so friendly and definitely not out to make a quick buck . I shall be going for all repairs there from now on - first rate. An excellent garage ! Purchased a Mitsubishi Colt in October : no hard sales talk from Stuart : decided to buy it as trade in price for mine very good . 3 months warranty which I decided to extend. Had to go back for 3 teething problems : nothing was too much trouble : I shall certainly use this garage come service and MOT time : friendly reliable staff a pleasure to deal with . One year on and Mot and service. Again nothing too much trouble : courtesy car whilst mine was at the garage dropped it off at 9 and picked it up at 4 the same day : the Colt passed and the prices are so reasonable. Stuart also sorted out a date for a body repair in October fantastic guys so friendly and you know you've not ripped off . Can't recommend them highly enough !

I bought a car from these guys at the end of November and cannot recommend them more. They ensured everything was done that was promised, which turned out to be a bit more than what they expected, but it was no trouble to them. I then had a slight problem on Christmas day, so waited until they had reopened to call, and with no hesitation got me booked in the following day, and they couldn't have been quicker getting it sorted for me. I've spoken to a few different members of staff and each one of them has been very friendly and professional. At no point did I feel pressured or ripped off by anyone. I was left to my own devices to have a look and take the car for a test drive. I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you for a great service.

Bought without seeing due to distance - Failed new MOT (that MC Cars had done) with several advisories only 1 month after passing elsewhere - this says their MOT's are spot on and not cowboy - all advisories put right by MC Cars. New front brakes and pads (never part of the deal or needed for MOT => thanks).. Good communication throughout and even a follow up call to check all was well. FIVE STARS!!!

I have always bought used cars from people I know so I was very nervous buying from a dealer for the first time. I had found the perfect replacement car online and so booked a test drive. The guy at Monks Cross Used Cars was really friendly and easy to deal with. He answered all my questions and when I came back to pick the car up they set it up ready for me to just drive off i.e connecting my phone, adjusting the seats etc. I also used their garage when I got a nail in my tyre and they were really helpful and went the extra mile. I have had no problems with the car and it has just passed its MOT after a year of driving. I had a wonderful experience buying from Monks Cross Used Cars. With Lots of great choice and finance options. As we looked round the forecourt we didn't feel any pressure as you do so often at car dealerships, and weren't persuaded into any deals or decisions. I was able to take the car out for a test drive their and then, Stuart was incredibly friendly and helpful and even extended the warranty. The car had a few nicks and scratches but we were assured these would be sorted out before we picked up the car the following week and we weren't disappointed, we even got to take home the rest of the pot of paint. Bought a car from this garage last month after finding online and seeing such great reviews. Called up and booked a test drive a few days later. Went for my test drive on the Sunday and was greeted by such a lovely man (Barry I think) he put me at ease away, was super helpful without been pushy and just a genuinely nice man. Waked away happy ready to collect my new car just a few days later. My car had just come into the garage and not ready to drive away but I was more than happy to wait given the fact they were to mot and give the car a full service and valet. I had a few questions that week and Called and spoke to Victoria and Stuart who were both very helpful. This week I had a slight problem when one of my check lights came on..i didn’t know what to do so called the garage (again so helpful) they reassured me, told me to bring car down the next day and was in and the slight problem sorted within the hour by Nick who again was very friendly and helpful. I’ve never experienced the level of service provided by Monks Cross Used Cars before and they stood out right from the first contact with Victoria. We exchanged emails on a Mazda 6 I was interested in and the attention I was paid was second to none. I had a few questions I wanted to ask so emailed Victoria at about 11.30pm expecting a reply the following morning. About 7 minutes later a reply popped up from Victoria with answer to each of my queries! They say the best companies eat, sleep and breathe customer service - it’s just that Victoria doesn’t appear to sleep! The car looked right for us but that’s only part of the equation. The confidence and trust Victoria engendered was the reason we decided to drive 200 miles up to York to view and test drive the car and see if they lived up to all the glowing 5* reviews we’d read on Google. We were not disappointed! The reviews were completely accurate and we too were absolutely delighted. We were met by Stuart at the garage who carried on the fantastic service provided by Victoria during our visit. His approach and care for us on Saturday made it so easy for to us decide to forget about a couple of other cars we had planned to see this weekend a purchase the car from Monks Cross Used Cars. I know this is a used car dealer, so what can I expect. I purchased a car in March 2019, I asked for some money off for a couple of missing items, in particular the rear parcel shelf. I was told I couldn't have any money off, but the rear parcel shelf would be posted to me. Well I give up, I never received the rear parcel shelf. So be warned, do not expect the after service to be very good. The car is fine though.

There was a few bits of work that needed doing such as the alloys, few scratches and it needed a replacement wing mirror however this was all repaired and looked new upon driving away the vehicle at no extra cost!
