Absolutely delighted with my mini purchase from Vertu MINI York. I could not have asked for a better experience with them. Reece Anderson-Badger was exactly what you need and want from a sales person, gave me the information I needed when I needed it, made sure the experience of buying and collecting the car was personal, little touches made a massive impression and all positive. Professional, polite, friendly - Reece was an absolute star, I went in the dealership ready to buy a Toyota from the place next door but wanted to just check out the MINIs, I was convinced they weren't the car for me. Reece's approach to getting me to test drive, his friendly nature without pressure meant I left knowing the MINI was the car for me, and he convinced me to get the colour I wanted - best decision ever for me. Fantastic service all round. I have purchased 2 cars in the last 8 years from Cooper Mini York and both times have been staggered by the exceptional service. Service with a smile, she is always so cheerful and friendly and makes the whole buying process that bit more fun. We arranged a meeting with Jamie on Monday 27th Jan with a view to talk about options on a new or nearly new Mini Cooper, no real intention of buying on the day. I called Cooper York Mini regarding an approved used mini I had seen online. Having a pretty specific idea in my mind if what I was looking for, I was especially attached to the one I had seen online. Unfortunately after enquiring about the car, I was informed that it was no longer available. Despite this, Adam Craven was helpful and offered to look on my behalf if there was anything else available. Within a couple of hours, not only had he found me a better car. It was also an incredibly fair price! Having been to other dealerships I was pleasantly surprised by Adams professionalism and willingness to help. We just picked up my wife’s brand new Mini Cooper S yesterday from the dealership and it is spot on! Great car, sparkling clean and drives brilliantly. However the reason I feel compelled to leave a review is that the service we have received from the initial phone enquiry to the delivery date has been 10 out of 10! Becky and Lucy have been amazing and I would recommend anyone considering buying a mini to use this dealership and in particular Becky and or Lucy. They have been so pleasant in dealing with us, they have been in constant communication with us, keeping us updated along the way, and some of the most professional people we have dealt with in the car industry. We actually live in Cheshire but after finding one of the best offers for this car online at this dealership coupled with the amazing service and accommodating manner with which we have been treated we were glad to continue to deal with these guys in York, nearly 100 miles away. We organised everything remotely either via the phone or email and we chose to travel to collect the car in person despite them offering to deliver the car to our house free of charge. And I would recommend doing that for the experience of collecting your spot less car but also Becky spent a great deal of time showing my wife around the inside of the car making sure she knew how everything worked before she drove off. I personally have purchased 8 cars, new and used from dealerships over the last 7 years all around the country including some premium brands such as Jaguar, Audi and Bmw and I have never experienced such a fantastic experience from start to finish of buying any of these cars!! I am so happy for my wife who has had company cars for the last 16 years for her to have such a great experience in buying her first brand new car. We first visited in Augest looking for a used Clubman for my wife but wanted to test drive both a clubman and 3 dr hatch. The salesperson (Stacy) was great - patient, friendly and not at all pushy. Allowed us to use her own car to test car seat even. Sadly she didn't have a clubman with the exact spec we wanted despite looking for a while and we eventually had to get it elsewhere. However, the Mini has proven to be such a great drivers car that I decided that I also wanted one but this time in 3 dr hatch and a brand new one so I could spec it to our needs. I remembered Stacy's actions in August and had no hesitation in getting in touch. Once again she was great. I had a very detailed list of options and an idea of what I would like to pay. She secured me a sensationally good deal within what I wanted to pay (good discount) and didn't try to oversell the stuff I didn't want like GAP insurance etc and kept me well informed of the car's build. the icing on the cake was the car came early and just to add the extra care one always appreciates, she even picked me up from York train station on the day I was to collect the car. Explained all the features perfectly and after 5 days I am loving the car! I have no hesitation in recommending Stacy or Cooper York.

I took my car in for a full servicing. The experience was ok but not great. When I first walked in no one greeted me, I had to stand by the reception and say hello myself before anyone spoke to me. Normally I have been greeted on arrival with a smile. When I was pointed over to service, 2 people were sat at their desks, there were no other customers but neither one looked up or said hello. The lady just stared at me in an unapproachable manner so I went to the desk of the man who did then say hello. While I was talking to the service agent, a man from the back came out and started a conversation with him, saying that a new valeter was here. The service agent said quite sharply ‘I am dealing with this lady’. This made me feel uncomfortable, and also the language ‘dealing with’ made it sound as if I was inconveniencing him. The service itself I had no problems. The complimentary ‘wash and vac’ has definitely gone downhill. I have had cars through BMW, Mercedes and VW, and the valet service is far better. My car is regularly cleaned inside and out and not dirty by any means, but this was more of a ‘wipe’. The wheels still had dirt on the alloys and the windscreen wasn’t clean. The inside had wet cloth marks on the dashboard area. For a price of over £450 for a service, overall I wasn’t particularly pleased with the level of customer service or the cleaning of the car. I have used MINI in the past for all of my servicing and new tyres etc and have been treated well however this experience has made me question whether I will return next time.

Fell in love at first sight with my new John Cooper Works mini - the staff at Clifton Moor are all really brilliant and helpful and happy to go through all the endless equipment on my car. The only fly in the ointment for me is that I have now been asked to pay £25 for a book about the sat nav. It seems really petty after buying such an expensive mini. I want to sit in the car with the instructions - not use my pc and I don't have a smart phone for an ap. I know Cooper Mini at Clifton Moor are willing to show me how to work the sat nav but I want to do it by myself in my own time and I can't believe that I can be sold something with no instructions. Having moaned about that I will say that the car is wonderful. It lives up to all my expectations and once I know how to find out where I am going it will be great.

He did know the right "buttons" to press to get me interrested - and a video of the JCW Pro exhaust, pretty much sealed it along with a relaxed test drive.
