Malaysian visitor here. My experience with Alamo/enterprise was great. As with most online reviews it’s usually the negative ones that would get written so while I can not say for what happened to the others, I had a great time renting a car here. To note, It’s not my first time hiring a car with enterprise, pretty consistent in terms of service. Wide smiles and professional, especially Abby. I shall return!

There was a long queue when picking up the car. Picking up the car with all the accompanying paperwork and explanations took no less than 1 hour. The service itself was very good, but they were clearly understaffed. Returning the car went very smoothly.

I waited for the vehicle for over an hour. Even after that wait, the AdBlue system hadn't been checked. I called and they told me to buy one. The vehicle was supposedly well-equipped.

Incredibly difficult to find. Without any signage, it was located in the basement of a parking garage. Instead of the car we ordered, we got a much larger and wider one. A stressful experience for inexperienced left-hand drivers on narrow streets. The pick-up and drop-off process was very time-consuming.

Very friendly staff. Excellent service and they're very helpful. The only downside is the very narrow entrance and exit. You really have to be careful not to damage your car right away. Very competitive prices. It's great that all sorts of young people from all over Europe work there.

Had a great experience renting from Enterprise. The check-in counter is for Alamo Budget and Enterprise combined. Check in with super simple, I did a quick walk around of the car with clear instruction on what to call out for damage. There was minimal damage on the car and was given to me in very clean condition with a full tank. The gal that checked me in was very friendly and professional, and got me on my way quickly. I drove out to Loch Ness and then back to St Andrews returning to Edinburgh after that, and the car handled great with no issues. Returning the car was super easy, and the manager that helped me was very very friendly, solid customer service. I was very impressed with the overall experience and would happily return there again..

Although initially concerned by the reviews I read on here, I was actually very pleased with Alamo. The car I hired was checked out by a nice man and checked back in by a lovely lady both who were friendly and helpful. My deposit was returned with no issues. Based on my experience I’d recommend Alamo Edinburgh Waverley.

First things first- you need to understand where this is located! It’s poorly signposted and will be a struggle to find. You need to head towards the car park and then down to -2. The rental car desks are located just outside the lift. If you wander around (like we did) to the exit to the car park, head inside and find the lifts towards the back and down. Car was good and service fine. Loss of a star for the unexpectedly high cost of £1700 per incident when not taking insurance. This is highway robbery and it’s difficult to believe this practice continues in the UK of all markets. Insurance costs £22 per day for our vehicle. We were covered by our own insurance, but just a good one to be aware of when hiring.

I booked with Alamo, New Street, Edinburgh via a comparison site, having used the site on a few occasions. Have to say Alamo came out with flying colours. Beautiful car and an upgrade from what I'd booked. Bronwyn served me and what a delightful person she is. Very thorough, professional and helpful. Saw her as well when I returned the car and despite being under a bit of pressure as they were very busy, she was pleasant and remembered where I had been going! Would defo use them again.
