I returned the car and for now everything went smoothly except for the pickup of the car. I had to wait 2 hours and a half in a small coffee shop to get it. I'm still giving 5 stars because the guy really made an effort. He gave a me a discount for the wait and the inconvenience. Also he sort of upgraded me to a better car for no extra fee. Really good service! I'll update my review if anything goes wrong with the refund of my 200£ deposit. Thank you

George gave us excellent service! We had to wait for 45 min due to the car not being ready but he was nice to take care of all of that. We were upgraded to an automatic even though our booking through Costco was manual. Costco was a way to go since it includes the 2nd driver for free. We were also able to use CDW insurance through our credit card. They refunded the deposit and everything was okay. The rental office is in the garage of Waverley station off New St. They will email you the directions but give yourself enough time to get there.

Hired a car for 10 days here last week. The staff were not overly friendly or professional at pick up, all seemed very young and inexperienced with poor customer service. However at drop off we had a much more professional member of staff who was very nice to deal with. No issues with the car and everything went smoothly.

Emma & Ravi were super helpful, courteous and professional, which made the pick up and drop off really painless. Ravi took the time to break down additional insurance's and the costs, but left it with me to ultimately decided. Emma was really helpful to tell me about the options this company has for their Car Club, which I will definitely look into.
I've rented from pretty much most, if not all, the car and van rental company's while living in Edinburgh. They are roughly all the same when it comes to the returns policy about damage, but this one was really up front about it, from the start and the options to mitigate it, which I thought was really good.
I would only recommend a few Rental company's in Edinburgh and based on my experience this is one of them.

Enterprise as always they never surprise me to deliver a smooth, friendly customer service experience. The cars they give me is always in a top notch condition. Though, the location of this center can be a bit tricky for the first time.

If I could give this branch 0 stars I would. Their business practices are questionable at best and probably fraudulent. We rent cars 2/3 times per year and have lots of experience with car rentals. This was our first experience renting in the UK. Here is the short version of what happened.
Picking up the car: we made a reservation, showed up about 30 min before our reservation, they had a loooong line and instructed us to return in 30 min, we returned and the line didn't move, in fact we were behind another person. We waited an hour to pick up a car. They did not give us any paperwork and told us there was no charge for the second driver (we asked and we were charged 91 pounds for the extra driver we didn't need). They told us there would be a discount for the wait (they didn't give us any discount). They took pictures of the car and had the contract on a tablet. We didn't get to review the contract or get a paper copy of it, which we thought was odd at the time.
Returning the car: They told us they would have to replace a tire because there was a tiny nick in the sidewall. They kept 200 pounds for the repair. That is an awful lot for one tire.
We disputed these charges and ultimately enterprise did not work with us. I called several times. Enterprise corporate did not help us because it was international. They referred us to the branch. The branch never reached out to deal with our complaints that we filed with enterprise corporate. So, don't believe the response when they say "email us an we will work with you". They are just trying to manage their image.
TLDR: charged us for an extra driver when we would have declined a second driver and charged us a large sum of money for a tire that wasn't really damaged. Beware.
If you must rent from here: take pictures, ask for a printed contract, video any promises that make to you. Protect yourself.
Edit: typo; I sent an email to care@enterprise. I will update my review if there is any action.
Edit2: Edinburgh did eventually call me back. They refunded our money for the second driver. I did not push back on the 200 pounds to repair the tire because I already got reimbursed from my credit card CDW. At least they wanted to do the right thing eventually. I am raising my rating, but I still suggest that you read the contract before you sign and document everything at this branch.

It was the first time I was renting a car and I couldn't have chosen better. The main reason I have decided to pick Enterprise was the possibility to use a debit card. After the booking process, I have received an email from the Waverly Station branch with the confirmation and a couple of useful tips. I have called the branch to make sure about my payment method and further additional checks that may be run as it was a debit card. I was said that the card I used for booking - Revolut - can't be used later on arrival to make the deposit, but I can use any other card with my name, issued in my country. The card was checked during the call by the first 6 digits and I was assured that it can be used as well. On arrival I was asked for my driving license, ID card and the debit card for the deposit. It took no more than a few minutes and we were inside the card. We were quickly instructed about the car damages and the policies and we were ready to go. Hyundai Ioniq we rented did the job. We returned the car in the branch working hours. It was checked faster than we were able to collect our things from it. No additional fees were charged. I would definitely recommend Enterprise for everyone!

Felt I had to write a review, as the treatment and experience I had lately was fantastic. Went to pick up an MPV the other day and as we have an infant, had also reserved a car seat.
Unfortunately, when I picked up the van the staff hadn't yet put the car seat inside. And I, like a numpty, totally forgot we needed that until I got home.
I realised the error as we were hurriedly throwing bags in the car (had a looong drive ahead of us and had to hit the road quickly).
Long story short, I called them up and they quickly sent someone out with TWO car seats just so that my wife could have a look and make sure we used the right one.
Granted, the staff's mistake to begin with (and a bit mine), but still, their positive attitude and quick action to sort the situation definitely deserves recognition!
Oh, and also .. this is one of those rare instances we ACTUALLY got the car type we reserved... Not that deal where you show up to get a car and they don't have what you reserved available. So either we just got lucky or this location is much better at supply chain management/planning.
In summary, would recommend this location to anyone looking to hire a car in Edinburgh!

Superb service from Jimmy! We originally reserved a manual car but since i was rusty from not having driven for many years, we opted for a last minute switch to an auto.
Jimmy exhausted every option, calling every other outlets to check if they could swap one for us. Eventually he found a VW Sharan for us and it’s been a really comfortable ride since. Kudos to him for making our roadie in Scotland a better one!

This was probably the best car rental experience we have had. No queue. Professional and friendly service from Ravi Singh. Upgraded car which was fantastic in the snow. Easy check out and return. I particularly appreciated your flexible approach to what is considered as ' damage' to body work and alloys ( although not needed) as well as to returning car with tank full or petrol - or not - as customer decides. Very happy with the whole process from the pickup to the delivery.
Alix greeted us and explained in detail what was covered and what was not. Even though I bought private insurance, she explained what I needed to do in case of an accident or claim. She didn't try and oblige me to buy any expensive extras. She then spent about 15 minutes with me inspecting the vehicle (including the tyres) to make sure we were both in agreement about the state of the car. Loved the fact that she used a little torch (CSI: Edinburgh in the making perhaps?) to make sure everything was in order.
On the return, Scott greeted me and again, like Alix, was very professional but also friendly (which makes all the difference to me). He revised the car with me to make sure everything OK (and it was). What impressed me was the transparency of the company policy, explained very adeptly by the staff. I knew from the start what was covered and what was not so there were no surprises at the end of the rental.
As for the car itself, it was very clean, both inside and out, and was a great ride. Thanks team!
I will definitely be using them again on my next car hire in the city.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The car was pretty good. The insurance CDW and excess reduction are a real rip-off, but this is unfortunately standard across the industry. The on-site manager really seemed to care about making the customers feel valued, which I appreciated. She even remembered me when I came back to return the car.

I had the best experience with the team in this office! I was in Edinburgh for New Years and days prior decided to chance an auto car on the day. There were none available when we arrived but the manager Tina tried calling around to the other branches to help us find one. Saved us from being stranded in Edinburgh after Europcar wanted to increase our car rental fee by £280 even after we advised them that our flight was delayed and we needed to pick up a car later than arranged. Enterprise Staff were efficient, friendly and although arranged at late notice, the rate was very competitive.

Nice people to deal with and very convenient location. Beware of one very important thing that you might not consider prior to using this branch and this company.
The car will be delivered in a poorly lit garage. It will be difficult to assess the condition of the bodywork. Additionally you must be very attentive to the condition of the tires.
When we returned our car to the Heathrow location we were told that there was damage to one of the tires. I saw a scratch 5 mm long by 1 mm deep. I was told that I would be charged up to 200 GBP to replace the tire. I called the branch in Edinburgh and they said that the tire needed changing by law. I seriously doubt that this minimal damage would be of any consequence.
I appealed to Tina the branch manager and I was told that there was nothing that could be done and my appeal was denied. Ultimately I was charge $55 in GBP.
Beware of one other issue: You may believe that you can decline the damage waiver provision at the desk. You cannot, even if you have a letter of coverage form a US insurer (generally through a credit card) and this will affect the final cost of the rental.
