We organised the hire of a car from Australia before we left for our overseas trip. We were operating "in the dark" so were really pleased with our choice. It was a good price. We had a very comfortable Citroen that enabled us to easily tour around beautiful Fife - a good size especially as some of the roads are quite narrow. Great colour too so it was easy to find it! David was super friendly and helpful. He explained the details and attributes of the car so I felt quite confident in an unknown car. His communication with us during our time in Scotland was excellent. Re and Michael.

I hired a car from Practical in July 2022. I required a vehicle for 1 week at very short notice. I was extremely impressed with the manner in which they managed their schedule to accommodate me. Despite having limited availability, the team were able to provide me with a car same afternoon. The car itself was one month old, spotless, reliable and fuel efficient and met my expectations exactly. I would like to express my huge thanks and appreciation for both the professionalism and dedicated customer service this company provided...attributes that are unfortunately scarce these days. Excellent customer service and Fantastic price. I first got in touch with Practical via Instagram after finding their page, then rang up to arrange the van hire, we then decided we needed it a day earlier than we organised and this wasn't a problem to arrange. I needed an automatic Van and managed to get the Medium Wheel Base Auto Transit, the van is lovely, fresh and clean inside and out. Everything went as expected and I'll definitely use Practical again.

very good experience! I wanted to rent a car for a five days trip to the isle of skye but I was discouraged by all the bad reviews I had found online about car rentals in edinburgh. I am extremely satisfied by Practical Car & Van Rental Edinburgh. The car was great, pick-up process was quick, I was allowed to return the car after-hours on Saturday and the deposit was returned to me only in a few days. Definitely recommend renting here!! (it takes around 30 minutes to get there from the airport but it is worth it!)

I don't usually leave reviews, but I was extremely impressed with Practical Car & Van hire. I had a van for 24 hours, it was almost better to drive than my car. Ross is fair and helpful, explaining how to use the van and gives excellent friendly service. If you need to rent van or car look further, I wouldn't go anywhere else when I need to hire again in the future.

Excellent Service especially Ross. He explained on how to drive the automatic as it was first time driving automatic and a bigger van. Both together made me nervous but he eased me up and as he said it was a very smooth driving experience. Van was very clean even though I booked the van on same day and he managed to do full clean within 15mins. Price is very reasonable compared to other top rental services. Definitely recommended and you won’t be disappointed with both van and any hidden charges

Over the past month, I have twice hired a van from practical car and van hire. I find the prices to be among the cheapest when shopping around. The Vans themselves are new, clean and hassle free when driving. Staff on site are first class, with customer service. So friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Practical when looking to hire a van/car. I will be back again whenever the need comes for myself to hire a vehicle.

Can't praise this company and in particular, Ross enough. We booked a vehicle for a. Scottish road trip last week. Not only was this the cheapest by a mile ( we had a brand new Citroen C5) the mileage limit was 100miles a day more than all other rental competitors before incurring a charge. Ross assisted us impeccably through the booking process with ease. Even the fact it was a little out of town wasn't a problem as the bus routes ran every 5mins to and from the city. Would throughly recommend this company and would use again

Had to book a van at short notice and Ross had a van available at a fair price. Van was very new (70 plate) and did the job perfectly. Was a little late returning which again Ross was really good about. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent experience. Staff is welcoming and easy going, I should ask his name but I forgot. I pay additional 10 quid to reduce the insurance excess and that helps to offset the worry since it is my first time to drive a MWB van. It turns out to be fine, the automatice ford transit (I think) that I rented is easy to manage and has features like proximity sensors to help parking. But be aware that the headroom is higher than passenger car, I only note this point when I read the rental agreement there is a separate item of excess relating to damage of the top, and that helps when I enter to the premise that I move to and the gate is actually lower than the top of the van. It is also quite spacious hence I can move all stuff in one go, so that I can return the van on the same day. Since it is after office hour, but the company allow to drop off key hence that is handy.

Recently hired a van from Practical Edinburgh and had lots of questions which Ross dealt with swiftly, professionally and clearly. The collection was flawless and carried out in a very Covid safe way. The van was brand new, spotlessly clean and a dream to drive. Hired a van for a flat move and the process was simple, friendly and extremely flexible. My flat mate had a covid test the day before so I was allowed to confirm the booking on the day it started after a negative result. We also saved 60 quid on the rental compared to everywhere else and got a better van!
