The staff was very kind and cheerful. The price was OK, better than other companies. However, they took £200 deposit from my bank, and did pay 31 day later I returned the car. If they do not solve this issue, I will never book a car again.

I needed the use of a van for a day at short notice and used the Leicester branch after using them before. On collecting the vehicle the staff were very welcoming and helpful and upgraded the van to a larger one at no extra cost to me. The van was in excellent condition and after being shown around the vehicle and given the details for breakdown etc I was on my way all within 15 mins of arriving. On returning the vehicle the staff were again very welcoming and again a quick inspection of the vehicle and I was done. Anyone needing a vehicle rental I would highly recommend Greenmotion.

I rented cars from Green-motion at least 3 times in few weeks. I am very pleased with the service I received from the staff. The car was ready and I received a better car than what I expected, Hybrid car. Very clean, spotless cars. The staff gave me enough time to go through the cars, asked me to take photos as I needed to proof the condition of the car. They have also explained what liability I might have for the size of any damage or scratched. I would definitely use them again and I recommend them to others.

Amazing service! I would definitely recommend. I hired a Luton van to move house and they were fantastic. You can ‘check in’ online beforehand and send pictures of your documents. I was a bit nervous driving the van out of the city centre but they are actually located in an east place to get to and from (I drove from south Nottingham). The excess/deposit of £1250 made me a bit nervous as I drove away! But I could of upgraded to premium for £30 extra and this would have been £200. So that’s my error, I wish I had gone premium just to take the pressure off of my driving! Hats off to the staff, they are super friendly, genuine and very efficient. I was a little late returning the van and just under the right petrol level but they let that slide. Thanks so much for making my house move that little bit less stressful!

I can highly recommend the Green Motion Leicester team. Pickup was really easy and didn't take long. There was no push to upgrade vehicles or pay for the optional insurance excess cover which I have seen elsewhere. I had booked restricted mileage which I knew I would exceed and the team on reception did the calculation to figure out whether it would be cheaper for me to pay for unlimited mileage or pay the mileage excess on return. The car was fine and very clean, and checking it back in only took a couple minutes.

Very good service when in need of a hire car . Called , booked and collected within few hours. Prices for 8 day rental very good. Was upgraded to a larger vehicle free of charge when i collected which was a very nice gesture. Would certainly use again Was looking at extending the hire past the intial 8 days but unfortuantely the rates for 2 / 3 days was nearly as much as 8 days so returned car when rental ended and sourced another hire car from alrernate company. This however did not impact my thoughts on Green Motion.

The broker however didn't make me aware of the daily mileage restriction of 100 miles which was disappointing, had I needed the car for a Longer trip this it will have been an issue. I came here, last minute, because a national car rental company did not honour a booking made via a famous website! Green motion provided me with a BMW 1 series M sports package at a great price, free upgrade from manual to automatic. I had the opportunity to thoroughly inspect the car. No issues to report. Rented a couple of times in the last few weeks both times really impressed with the customer service. On one occasion I arrived to pick up my hire without a licence check code. I was slightly frustrated and protested that they should have told me to bring it. Of course it was stated clearly on the hire guidance that I'd need it. They could have made me feel like a fool. But instead they were even more understanding, they contained their composure and professionally and courteously dealt with me and got me on my way. I kind of needed to harass that information out of them so I could show it to my insurer Generally, an good place to rent your car if you can stand your ground. Otherwise, you could loose a lot of money. I recommend getting a good insurance, making pictures of the car before&after. In that case, no problems, great cars, fair prices.

Peugeot 208, great runner and fab mid size vehicle. Clean as always when I picked up. Helpful and efficient staff. Not keen on the rather steep change to the increased deposit. £1200 for deposit compared to £400, is alot of money to have floating about for a couple of weeks. My experience with the Leicester branch was very positive! After initially booking, I discovered some of the negative reviews of Green Motion nationally online, and read that at some branches people had been charged lots of extra money for trying to pay the deposit with a debit card rather than credit. I was concerned as I don't own a credit card, so I rang up the Leicester branch, and they were very friendly and reassuring that it would be absolutely fine, and they could take a £400 deposit from a debit card. Collection and return of the car were absolutely fine. Some of the negative reviews nationally describe ridiculously thorough examinations of the car upon return, but for me it was very quick and there were no problems at all. I was impressed at how fast, friendly and professional the whole process was! In particular I spoke to a guy called Scott a few times, who was very helpful and reassuring. From what I see online I get the impression that different branches of Green Motion operate quite differently to one another, but I can definitely recommend the Leicester branch!

I was surprised to find there was quite a hike on the daily hire rate if you average more than £100 a day, which is not something I have come across before (however, I haven't hired a car for at least 3 years so this may be a more more common practice). On the return it took also less then 10 minutes for car inspection. Garage is in the middle of Leicester which is handy if you are new in town. Have used Green Motion For my last 3 rentals. They are the cheapest in my city (Leicester) and I've had the best cars from them. I've upgraded on the day for little extra money. I find the staff friendly and informative and never had to wait more than a minute or so to be seen. The cars are spotless and super fuel efficient. Yes, you have to leave a large deposit on your card, but of course you should, you're taking one of their cars!! Will always use them. Excellent all round.

I have been renting from this place for a few years now and I will not go anywhere else. The staff are polite and friendly. The terms are easy to understand and explained everytime you go to avoid any arguments. The prices are very reasonable and the selection of cars are updated (often I believe) I've not rented a car I've not been happy with.

Generally a very pleasant experience. Here are the pros and cons. Pros: 1.Pricing is extremely competitive, you will struggle to find cheaper with the level of service. 2. They will book you a car at very short notice and not with the increased premiums of some of their competitors. 3. They will give you a courtesy call day before or on the morning asking if you are extending or returning the vehicle. 4. The staff are friendly and very helpful 5. They are trying to reduce their carbon footprint by engaging in environmental practices as part of their companies manifesto. Cons: 1. You must be very diligent when checking the car for pre existing damage no matter how small. A member of staff will give you a quick tour of the car and show you any pre existing damage, little scratches, dinks, windscreen chips etc. Whilst the staff members are helpful they are not infallible so I would urge all customers to look closely for themselves and if needs be point out damage and take photos to date the pre existing damage this way it will save you unexpected surprises when returning the vehicle. 2. Be aware that Green Motion is a franchise and not all the franchisees will give an equal level of service. I fortunately booked via the Leicester branches and they provided a great level of service. Unfortunately a very small number of franchisees may let down the other ones. 3. There is a tendency to upsell extra insurance, they are no different to other rental companies in this respect. This is not a hard sell but if you feel you are prone to scratch or bump the car, do an online search for excess car rental insurance, they will work out a lot cheaper however you payout and they pay you back. Hope this information will help you make a more informed decision. I have been happy with my service and have and will recommend them in the future.

At last I have found a car-hire company that I am completely satisfied with. A vehicle arrived at Glasgow airport within 5 minutes and I was driving off in the car of my choice within 10 minutes of arriving at the car-hire depot. Similarly when I returned the car I was met with the same level of efficiency. I had just arrived from France after an 18 month stay and was unfamiliar with the new regulations regarding hiring a car. (The need to get a code from the DVL, and the fact that paper licenses are now defunct.) however, the staff on duty sorted it out for me in minutes. Great service! We wanted to rent a van for the weekend and they give us the biggest one for the same price as the medium one. They also offered lots of facilities to park it as it was too big for our basement! We've only done a few miles but they didn't charge us for fuel (as it was only a few pounds)!! Definitely we will choose this company again. The only thing to say about it is the deposit is a bit expensive as it's £400 and despite of the insurance, if you have an accident you will lose it. The sad thing nowadays is the only reviews you tend to seem are the negative ones, reading up on any company you will see the good and the bad, however credits due where credits due. From start to finish the service at Green Motion was flawless, there was honesty and transparency at every step of the way. They make you aware of the charges, should you dare to speed or damage the car which I personally think is more professional rather than leaving you to do your own research in the T's & C's, no sneakiness, the service is quick, the cars are new... And I mean brand new with little or no mileage on at all, professionally valeted and with that nice 'new car smell'. One thing that should be commended is when I first came to pick the car up I did mention how it was my first time using the company and I had seen mixed reviews and the staff were happy to re-assure myself and answer any questions I had, it really did seem they valued my custom and their business. It took me hour and half to book the car .Maybe i was a student so thats why they asked for so many documents like bank statement , passport , university proof and proof of address. Return was quick . Deposit was so much . First they asked 800 for a deposit. We had just 400 . So when we arranged another 400 in the end they just tooke 400 as a deposit. Under 25 prices are a bit high. Plus we thought they are giving us a diesel car but after paying everything and handing us the car they said it’s Petrol , which pretty much charge us alot. But the way the lease agreements are set it up between Green Motion and the car companies is that ANY scratch or mark becomes a cost on the renter. Unless you are a perfect driver and can command the will of the gods you may be able to get away without a scratch. Having read a lot of negative reviews I was surprised by the excellent service I received . I paid £79 for a weeks hire and was given a top of the range Mini Cooper , it cost me £18 .24 to go to London and back and then onto work for the week. It must have been the cheapest car to run I have ever had. The manager and staff were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The lesson here is if you damage a hire car don't moan about it pay up you know the rules before you sign on the dotted line. The only down side I have is the £400 deposit was taken straight out of my account but it takes 3 to 5 days to go back in,small price to pay for the service I received . Thank you mr l Carswell

Very convenient location near city centre. I had a very long hire from them (2 months). I found them efficient and helpful and they gave me an upgrade. They are strict about their rules, but fair: if you take it back with a fuel excess they give an allowance on your next hire. Take out your own insurance against their large excess, not their own insurance. I've never had to claim on this, so don't know how they'd handle it. Watch out for their staggering 84 pounds 'administration' fee to report your details for traffic violation authorities, parking etc. But it's all there in the small print.

I hired an 8 seater Mercedes for the weekend to take family to a wedding. The handover at St Nicholas Circle, Leicester, went really well. The staff were very helpful , the young man on the desk (Ash??) was very calm and had everything ready. By the time a man came to hand the vehicle over he already knew I was going to a wedding and wished me well for the weekend. Handback was trouble free and the same man, Rudy, checked and took the car back. The fuel level in the tank was a bit close to being below what it should have been but they were very pragmatic and weren't at all pedantic - NO EXTRA CHARGES!! Additionally, you may choose suitable car from the variety list of car types and you won't be dissapointed. Moreover, in case if you need to extend your rental time while your trip, you can just call and inform them via mibole phone. Another advantage is all cars are eco-friendly, and you do not have to pay "emission fees", especially Londons 1 and 2 zones. I am more than sure that I will keep using this company's services in the future.

If you are paying with a debit card you will need to have £400 in your card to make the booking, but don't worry though- it is just a deposit you get back within a week.

My experience of hiring off green motion for the first time has some what left me with a slightly disheartened and I would avoid hiring off his firm again due to this. I would strongly advise you to check the vehicle with a fine comb in thorough detail for any I mean even the slightest Mark. If the vehicle is wet upon pick up be sure to dry and check vehicle before leaving this will avoid the finger pointed at you. Lastly the car I was promised wasn't what ideas guven and despite this 5 mins into driving the engine oil lights appeared! To be told by branch top up the oil myself

5 stars for the leicester branch. I hired from the Leicester branch. Very friendly staff at collection. Booked a standard 7 seater but was given a 9 seater for the same price. Speedy collection. At drop off, they noticed a scratch on the mirror which wasn't noticed at pick up. They could have easily charged me as it was my word against theirs. The assistant went out of his way to check the previous hire record and confirmed the scratch was there from before. Very professional company/Branch.

For people who don't rent often, don't go for renting expensive cars no matter what offers are going on unless you have insurance that has less than 100 quid or so excess. If any scratches then be prepared to shell out 700£+. I would suggest take Web based yearly insurance plans if renting more than twice else all greenmotion offer is 18£ day but still 400£ insurance.
