L. M.Mike Adkins, the branch manager of Hertz Truro, is worth his weight in gold. Our experience with this Hertz branch and in particular, Mike, was exemplary. He was agreeable, accommodating and personable. Also willing to keep the branch open in order to meet our train arrival from London. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thanks Mike!

During the rental we needed to add another driver Agnieszka (I think?) did this for us within minutes.
When we went to drop the car back the lady there (sorry didn't get name) let us leave our bags there while we went into town.
The car itself was a almost new Vauxhall Corsa which was perfect for what we needed.

A. L.I reserved a car for 4pm, got there at 4:25 and the office was closed. I was able to return the next morning, and get a car and upgrade to an automatic transmission.
S. G.When we were trying to rent a car we came across staff member Dan who was very helpful all the time and give us many good advices.
We got a clean car in good condition.
Streets and parking in Cornwall are very narrow therefore we paid for an insurance so we did not have to worry about damages.

C.My car was involved in an accident yesterday and the insurance company transferred me over to Hertz in Truro the next day for a courtesy car while my vehicle is being sent off for repairs. 2 guys turned up at my home address with my courtesy car however there was a small problem due to a lack of communication along the lines as a manual vehicle was delivered rather than an automatic. Only having an automatic license i told the guys I couldn't drive this car but they were totally understanding and within a matter of minutes had a solution. One of the guys I think his name was Andy? Off the top of my head drive me to truro Hertz and I waited for what a couple minutes and was then handed the keys to a lovely automatic Skoda. Which I must say was extremely clean on the inside. I would like to thank Hertz for being so accommodating and helping me get back on the road after what I can only describe as a disaster. Anybody would feel gutted having their car being sent off for repairs however Hertz made me feel at ease letting me use their 70 plate new vehicle which is similar in some ways to my other 70 plate vehicle. Thanks again Hertz for helping. 😁
A. S.This is the third time I’ve used the Hertz at Truro and feel it deserves an honest review and I don’t really write them unless I’ve genuinely been impressed with the service. Quite a simple booking process online but the last couple of times I’ve dealt directly with Dan who’s the main guy there. He’s always happy to help, very cheerful and makes the process of getting a car efficient and he’s a nice bloke too. Last couple of times I’ve arrived without a booking and more recently arrived 15 mins after they closed (5.45pm). The first time Dan said he could get a car ready for me in an hour as he was getting one back in and could turn it around quickly and just a few days ago when I arrived after they closed he said he would come back from his house in an hour to do an out of hours rental for me. Both times turned around in an hour and really went out of his way so walked around town and grabbed a proper pastie (I’m from London so it’s always a novelty) to kill the time. I was surprised by the previous (rather old reviews) and Dan mentioned he’d only been there 6 months so it makes sense. Give these guys a try and ask for Dan. Top bloke that deserves a promotion. Will be my go to when I come to Cornwall. Thanks!
C. P.Friendly and helpful staff who take a personal interest in you and your rental. The agent went to the car with us and showed us how the SatNav (GPS) system works and explained other features of the car, which was in excellent condition and a better make than we had expected.
D. S.Have rented from Truro many times and always had the best service, great cars, good staff so cannot recommend them enough. Incredibly helpful when I couldn't return the car full due visa credit cards not working anywhere. Go out of my way to use them over other companies!!
S. S.I hired a car from Hertz here in April for business and the car and staff at Truro were good. What was not good was the Hertz centralised ordering system which does not make it easy for the customer to hire a car. However the worst part was trying to extract a receipt for the hire period out of the Hertz organisation after, it has taken me 3 calls with a failed promise to send it, then 2 weeks later 8 calls and 3 web-mails, the first promised receipt never materialised, the second receipt the invoice was a blank pdf page which caused to me to contact them yet again. Trying to complain got me nowhere as Hertz do not seem to like publishing a proper email address on their website you can actually use with your mail package. But like I said Truro staff and car were actually fine.
J. H.Very convenient to have a car hire place right in the train station, although on this most recent trip it did seem as though they capitalised on that with their pricing somewhat, and if we'd been prepared to go further afield in Truro we'd have got a much cheaper deal...
Also it cost £100 more for a week to get an automatic than it would have to get a manual - again I felt like again I was paying quite a big premium just for convenience.
The other downside of being in a train station is that when a train arrives from London a whole bunch of other people picking up hire cars arrive at the same time as you. In fairness they did seem to have quite a lot of staff on standby, but there was still a bit of a wait and I always get a bit frustrated with these big car hire companies that, having given them all your details over the web in advance, it doesn't just take two minutes to hand over your keys.

The team displayed true professionalism in the face of a customer at her wits end (me) and their can do attitude shone bright - it was the end of the day and the manager stayed on to make the rental work out.
