Richard provided a first class service providing a timely repair. He explained and showed me exactly what had gone wrong and fixed the door with replacement parts he already had with him. I only rang Richard yesterday and he was here this morning. He was going to be a few minutes late but rang and explained he was on his way. I contacted Richard the first chance I got after our garage door stopped operating. From the first phone call, he was really helpful and he was able to come over to our house the same day to take a look at what the issue was. After a brief chat, we agreed for the work to go ahead (replacement of the motor) and arranged a date for the following week. On the morning of the agreed date, the heavens opened and there was torrential rain and wind (we're by the sea front so this was a substantial issue for any outdoor work). I texted Richard to say I think it's best that we postpone. This wasn't an issue at all for him and he was happy to accommodate. When the weather cleared up, a new appointment was arranged. Richard arrived on time and cracked on with the work. It was completed to an excellent standard and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Top job, at a fair price with the reassurance that should something go wrong, he's on the other end of the phone. A thoroughly nice chap!

Our garage door stopped working and the original supplier wanted too high a price for the repair. Called up Richard of Garage Door and Lock co in Formby, he quickly came out to check the door and diagnosed a faulty motor. Within a few days he had ordered a new motor and fitted it very expertly for a price cheaper than the original door supplier, saving me a considerable amount. I would strongly recommend Richard and his company to anyone with a garage door problem. He knows his stuff, having had 25 years in the business, and can repair all types of door even older designs needing old parts.

The cables on my 40 year + old garage door snapped without warning rendering it unusable. Richard from Garage Door and Lock in Formby arrived very quickly and advised it could be repaired with fitment of new cables and runners and advised a new spring was also needed and even though it was a long obsolete design he went out of his way to find a replacement which was over 8ft long to fit the 14ft opening. Richard sorted all the problems with expertise and patience explaining everything along the way including future maintenance. The price was very reasonable and saved us a small fortune where we thought we would have to shell out for a new door.
