Nice restaurant and respected staff working here, they provide Arabic plate especially the BQQ. The taste was not original as it should be however I am sure non Arab people will love it. Something was missing to make the food 100% delicious, the lentils soup was amazing though. It is still a good place to try our Arabic traditional food and enjoy your time.

Nice restaurant and pleasant staff. Location in the city centre is not ideal but we managed as it was a quiet evening. Starters are nice and fresh from the set menu. Mains were good food, but nothing that was special outer made it stand out. Sides salad was very mediocre and evident they were produce of the local supermarket bistro salads. Only have a 3 star rating as we were initially served with a chipped glass. When this was highlighted and asked for second drinks and plain water, we then got shards of glass in an empty glass. Very very fortunately we spotted this and alerted the waiter. If my wife had poured herself water, God knows how the evening would have ended up. The waiter apologized and said he would give the manager feedback. At the end of the evening we had the bill and the waiter asked us if we wanted to give additional payment. I don't really know what for considering the lucky escape we just had.... Summary, food is ok, nothing special. Won't be returning anytime, but if you have never had Lebanese starters, worth a try. Photos look great, but food was part for the course.

Absolutely fantastic food! Managed to get a table with 5 friends late on Friday night. The staff were brilliantly attentive and patient with us (we’d had a few beers by then) and they suggested great dishes for us. The food really was top drawer. We ate like kings, had a couple of drinks and the bill came to just £25 per head. We paid £30 to give a well deserved tip. Can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you

Absolutely delicious! We had a selection of hot and cold meze to share and everything was perfect. The staff were so friendly. It was surprisingly quiet for somewhere so tasty on a Saturday night so it's perhaps a hidden gem. Highly recommended - especially if you have any vegans in your party as there is so much choice.

I have to commend Syriana on a wonderful, warm greeting by its staff. I was treated like the prince of Persia as I was shown to my seat. The staff were polite and relaxed, maybe a little too relaxed. I took the set menu by the carpet threads and had the chef’s selection of starters and the mix grill main. It took a while for the food to arrive. It was substantiating and impressive to behold. The food was a good representation of Middle Eastern cuisine, but lacked sparkle above and beyond Middle Eastern food I’ve eaten elsewhere. Syriana tries hard, but lacks “above and beyond” quality in all areas of food delivery. What it does do is deliver excellent value for money food, large quantities of it in a family oriented atmosphere. Get Gordon Ramsay in to give your business a few tips to take it to the next level. Anyway, thank you for the humbling service.

We visited as a taster session to see if we'd want to visit in the future for a bigger meal. We will definitely be back. Everything from the staff to the food was exceptional. We may have only had 4 'mezze' dishes, but the staff treated us like we were the biggest spenders, they are all just so friendly and helpful. The food itself was stunning, vibrant, tasty and so fresh. We will be back without a doubt.

If you're looking for an authentic Syrian/Lebanese restaurant which serves authentic Mediterranean food, then look no further and go to Syriana in Birmingham. By far the best Mediterranean food I've had in the UK! Having lived in the middle east in the past for several years, I can tell that they are the real deal. From starters to mains, everything was hot and freshly made. Great customer service and good Arab music. Ayman served us on the day and his service was exceptional! Would highly recommend this restaurant if you like Mediterranean food or would simply want to try a new cuisine!

Beautiful comfortable place to enjoy food!! The staff are all so helpful,very polite. The service is very fast and the food is 100% delicious and fresh!! The decorations and layout of the inside is so pretty. Would definitely recommend this for a lovely romantic meal or with the family. Just popped in after theatre last night. Looks like it's had a refurb. But it's been a while since we last went. As always the good was superb. Delicious tasty food, so different to the usual fare. If you're considering this place do go. It is really good value for money.

Love love love this place. Yes it's BROB but they do have there own booze on the menu. We had starters to share, mains each and just about squeezed in pudding with coffee. There is a great craft beer bar opposite too which is worth a visit for a beer or too.

My favourite Syrian restaurant in the world simple menu awesome flavours and I keep going backing for more. Generous portions and intense taste. The fava bean starter is incredible and the lentil soup is so homely just the type of food you would want to eat on a rainy day, the rice with vermicelli is lovely and prices are so reasonable. Please support this independent restaurant it’s in the clean air zone area but you can catch the bus en route in to the city or tram. Great place for an authentic cuisine 🥰

After few days of 'pub food' we finally came to a place with real food and we had a fantastic evening. We ordered few types of salad and falafel, later mixed grill, covered by a bottle of lovely Lebanese red. The service was immaculate and the pricing quire reasonable. Visited during the eat out to help out scheme (although I did not know that indpenant restaurants were partcipiating). Had the set menu £19.95 for 3 courses . Very tasty food and staff who genuinely care that you enjoy the evening. Starter was my favourite....7 dipping dishes with salad and potatoes served with bread. Everything was fresh. Shall return and be happy to pay full price .

I can't possibly award fewer stars as the experience of dining at Syriana was so pleasant due to the hospitality of the staff. They were more than happy to cater for my nephew's allergies and even helped entertain my 4 year old niece. The food was lovely and everyone was so friendly and polite. A great welcome from the staff in this lovely, intimate restaurant. Excellent service and exquisite food. What's not to like, fresh, middle Eastern Mezze on the doorstep and now with Deliveroo bringing it to you (with free delivery over £15) then there's more reason to have some! We have tried various dishes, the tabbouleh, Mousakhan, moussaka, batata.. Actually we were trying to get to the beautiful moussaka but managed to miss order twice, finally getting the moussaka, some great hummus with bread to dip and the fresh tasting tabbouleh it was truly a feast for the senses and the taste buds! Highly Recommended even if because of covid-19 the restaurant is closed to the public (it is now) but the delivery is fast and free (over £15) ours arrived 15 minutes early! So grab your taste of the Middle East and get some great tasting food!

Talk about pleasant surprises! In fact, that's an understatement... This wonderful independent establishment totally blew me away. The menu truly has something for everyone- our party consisted of 2 meat eaters and 2 vegans and nobody was stuck for choice or disappointed in the slightest. In particular, there's mezze galore, which just makes me so happy. I mean, middle eastern tapas... What more could you want?! And talk about value for money- 7 rounds of mezze, 4 mains, a plate of Baklava, a bottle of wine and a few soft drinks came to just over £100. The staff were so helpful and friendly, and while it wasn't busy during our visit, you just know that level of service was as important to them as the quality of the food. Onto that... The food was simply incredible. You can tell every dish was made with love. My tastebuds were singing and dancing throughout our meal. The portion sizes are insane and if, like me, you eat too much in the first course, the fine folks will box up anything you leave for you to enjoy later. Which we did! They have a lovely (Lebanese, I believe) wine selection, just the one beer that I noticed along with soft drinks. Do yourself a favour and have the Baklava with some mint tea before you leave, there's no better way to end your meal. I think I actually dreamed about it last night. In times like these, please support local indie places as much as you can. 50 out of 10 for this place, you absolutely have to visit!

First time ever yesterday and it was nice. Food nice, good portions not over the top and filling but not small either. Friendly staff. Parking is terrible, they have a car park but for 6 cars I think. Have to pay on road parking and it is a nightmare. Especially with half the pay machines not working! Location is the only thing that lets this place down.

Good balanced healthy food, just a bit too pricey in my opinion. Mix grill should be £9 considering it's for 1 person (it's around £13 currently). You should also add a mix grill for 2 people for ~£15 Probably wouldn't return due to the high price as there are other restaurants where you can spend less and still eat the same amount/more.

.Really good. I have been to Syriana many years ago but it was that bad that I wasn't willing to try it again. After many positive reviews from trusted friends I thought I'll give it a go. It was completely different to the memories I had. The place is clean, the food smells and tastes great, the music is not too loud, and the service was good but really slow. It was a busy Sunday on a bank holiday weekend so they could've done with extra staff. We didn't mind a slow service, it gave us time to digest the food. Definalty will visit again.

This is tasty, unpretentious and reasonably priced food that should satisfy most palates. We visited the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. We were a party of 3. The staff greeted us warmly and was very nice and patient when he took our order. The food came hot and fresh. They got amazing grilled baby chicken, really recommended. Their kubbeh is tasty, the kofta was good but a bit dry while the mixed grill was a bit below average. The staff are really nice, welcoming and helpful. They further offered us complimentary tea. Good place, worth visiting.

Disappointing food this evening. Almost £40 on a mixed grill, sea bass, hummus b’lahem and a fattoush salad. The sea bass was tiny. Much smaller than it used to be. The mixed grill again was much smaller than it used to be. The b’lahem was inedible. The lamb was so crispy it was hard to eat, so I didn’t. Food from Syriana is usually tasty and decent portions. Great shame.

One of my favourite restaurants in Birmingham! With a great choice for vegetarians and carnivores alike, Syriana serves extremely tasty food and decent portions at good prices. It's situated in a beautiful, old building and the journey to the location just outside the city centre is well worth it.

Came here spontaneously after googling 'Halal Restaurants Birmingham', wanted somewhere cozy and had a look at the pictures on google and decided it looked warm and cozy. Safe to say it completely fits that description! Really lovely atmosphere, great service and delicious food! Ate Shish Taouk and it was very tasty, the chicken was really juicy and tender. This evening was my first visit to Syriana and I’m glad that I finally visited with my wife and children. We’d already had our fill of middle-eastern cuisine this morning, when we ventured to ‘Damascena’ on Moseley Road. However, this evening my family wanted more of the same, so we decided to visit somewhere new. I made a reservation half an hour before we arrived at the restaurant. We parked at the back of the restaurant and with it being a Sunday evening, the restaurant was fairly quiet. We were given the choice of where to sit and we were quickly chaperoned to our seats. Immediately we had observed how impressively designed and beautifully decorated the restaurant was with lovely adornments and carvings. The restaurant was also well lit, perfectly ventilated and spacious. The clean image and modernity certainly was evident and demonstrates that a refurbishment had recently taken place. Abdallah who was the main waiter assigned to us, spent some considerable time providing us with suggestions and patiently taking our order. He was friendly, courteous and approachable all evening. We skipped a ‘Starter’ and proceeded straight to the ‘Main’. We ordered 4 separate meals including Mixed Grill. Soup. Lamb Kebabs, Specialist 1/2 sized Chicken and Sea Bass, with lots of ‘Fattoush’ (Lebanese Salad) and ‘Meze dishes’ (‘Houmous’, ‘Falafel’ and ‘Baba Ganoush’) among others. The portions were on the generous size and ensured we were all full when we left the restaurant. All food was cooked so exceptionally well with all of us sharing our food, coming to the conclusion that the food was better than we expected. We then decided to take desserts in the form of ‘Mango Ice Cream’ and ‘Baklava’. We also ordered a pot of ‘Mint Tea’ and milk shakes for the children. The ‘Baklava’ with whipped cream, is among the best I have ever eaten, and the ‘Ice Cream’ was of excellent quality too. Once again all 4 of us shared our desserts among each other. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it in a relaxed. calm and ambient environment. Abdallah was a great host and looked after our each and every need and our first experience at the rest was a triumphant one. We’ll definitely return back in the future and would endorse this restaurant to anyone who appreciates Middle-Eastern cuisine.

We had Batata Harra which was very tasty, Farrouj Meshwi & Lahem Meshwi, both well cooked and very enjoyable, a side dish of vegetable rice and some flat breads. The rice was good but portion a bit small. The mains came with a nice garlic sauce but the small pot was only half full. I would have given 5 stars but deducted a star for the stale salad (which went straight in the bin) and the other negatives as mentioned. I would still order again though as the rest of the meal was great.

Got take away from Syriana and was blown away! Beat all my expectations and was very fresh and authentic. Many restaurants that do middle eastern are too greasy and heavy, but not Syriana, wonderful flavor balance and variety. We had Freekeh, couscous B’khoder, vegetable rice and hummus beiruti with flat bread. Everything was good, full portion sizes and seemed very fresh. What the hummus beiruti was infused with chili peppers and spices and was very exciting. Would recommend to anyone looking for authentic Mediterranean/ middle eastern food.
