We had the most beautiful wedding last week-end and Edinburgh Food Social was a big part of making the day a success. We initially were going to work with Edinburgh Larder but we were passed on to their sister company which was a bit of an unexpected news but once we spoke to Kirsty, it became clear we were in very good hands! We were happy to learn as well that our money was going to a good cause which aligned perfectly with the spirit of the wedding. The waiting staff was absolutely wonderful, seamlessly serving delicious food (nibbles and simple sharing platters which suited the relaxed vibe of our day), decorating tables following our instructions and completely tidying up afterwards. The wedding was in our parents' house & garden so the team had to adapt to these tight conditions and did very well. Everyone worked quietly in the background which made the day completely stress free! All the guests commented on the quality of the food, especially the onion pie which was a massive hit with zero leftover the next day (keeping in mind the standard was high given half the crowd was French!). Allergies were kept in mind including a plate prepared especially for my celiac brother in law. I can only find one picture of the food at the moment and it's of the next day leftovers (delicious!) but hopefully gives a little idea. Seriously amazing team full of joy! Thanks Kirsty and team. We're planning on coming to one of your dinner events soon. :)

We were so lucky to find Edinburgh Food Social who agreed to do our wedding catering. Steve and his amazing team worked tirelessly to create the most amazing menu and made sure our day was perfect. The food was absolutely exceptional and we had many of our guests compliment it. Thank you to Steve and his superb team! Would recommend you guys in a heartbeat to anyone !

I attended a supper club evening ran by this organisation last month to discover Scottish gastronomy and support their good cause. The food was very tasty and in a lovely setting in the Old Town. The ox cheek was so so tender and so tasty that I forgot to take a picture. 😂 Despite not being a big fan of rhubarb the panna cotta was delicious!!!

Simply. Perfect. Edinburgh Food Social saved our wedding day as our original caterer ceased to exist less than a year before the big day. From the very first phone call, Kirsty made planning our wedding meal stress-free and fun. We didn’t want to have a traditional wedding meal and Kirsty completely understood this, helping us to find our vision and put together our perfect menu. The meal was pulled off without a hitch and tasted phenomenal. All of the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. We absolutely adored our meal and have received so many compliments from our guests. We would recommend Edinburgh Food Social to anyone planning an event.

I booked Edinburgh Food Social for my 70th birthday party buffet at home with 60 guests. Having looked at options on the web I was impressed by their website content and their community ethos. I was also attracted by their flexibility to use local and seasonally available food. In the event they were very friendly and accommodating. The food was ready for collection on the day as arranged and exceeded my expectations. The quality quantity and presentation were very good. Being local they also provided the food on porcelain and silver platters free of charge on condition of return. I thought that it was good value for money and would recommend them to others considering a similar event.

We were really lucky to have Kirsty and the Edinburgh Food Social team do our Wedding in May this year and absolutely can't recommend them enough. They were absolutely perfect from the initial chat all the way to delivering some incredible food on the night - all the more impressive given that they brought the entire kitchen to our venue for the reception. I'd really recommend going for a food tasting as well just to have the opportunity to have more of their food! There's enough stress with organising a Wedding but I can honestly say that there was none from the catering side thanks to Kirsty and her team's hard work. We can't recommend them enough if you're researching them ahead of your wedding.

Kirsty catered for our wedding and did a fantastic job! She put together a lovely vegan menu and executed it well. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and I would recommend her for vegan catering! She was also very transparent about cost which was helpful when wedding planning.

Beautiful food. Faultless service. Professional, friendly, adaptable and flexible, Kirsty and her team were an absolute dream to work with in planning our wedding for 90 guests on bonfire night in Aberlady, East Lothian. They customised their usual sharing platter service to provide 4 different plated main dishes with an autumnal theme. They served a stunning veggie haggis wellington with a variety of seasonal, organic, locally sourced veg and different types of mash as well as a delicious red wine jus. The meat option was bangers and mash, which went down a treat!! Kirsty and her team served lovely starters, a perfect selection if desserts and then some excellent evening food. The guests raved about the celeriac mac n’ cheese and the brioche bacon rolls! The vicious, unkind reviews and blatantly coordinated smear campaign is wholly unjustified and if anything has gone wrong at a specific event I can guarantee that it would have been due to external factors as kirsty delivered a top class service for us. These kind of events require meticulous planning and preparation, time management and resource management are key. Having worked in retail management, hospitality management and subsequently, teaching, I can promise any prospective clients of EFS that they would be putting their money in a safe place with this social enterprise. Many of our guests said it was the best food they had ever eaten at a wedding, or any event for that matter. Our vegan friends all said the basil and mushroom lasagne was undoubtedly the best vegan dish they had ever had. There was so much food of such a high quality, bolstered by stellar service, professional management and an abundance of passion for the job at hand. Best choice we ever made going with you guys! Thank you so so much, man of our friends have since enquired for their weddings and will hopefully see some more business your way, you absolutely deserve it! Sophie & Niall

Truly excellent local organisation! Attended one of their masterclasses pre-pandemic and I was so fascinated with the work they do in the community I decided to volunteer with them. Hugely recommend it if you are interested in food education and sustainability, and how to make your food system more sustainable without compromising on flavour and supporting local growers. Fantastic social enterprise with a real community focus , who make top quality food. We chose them because of the on-going work they've been doing supplying food hampers for people in Craigmillar and Niddrie. We asked them to make meals for 24 of our volunteers for a local charity in south-east Edinburgh, for a special awards meal night. It was a 2 course meal and the food was excellent, everyone was raving about it. It was a really easy process throughout, with very reasonable prices, and they were flexible to our needs and times, and able to pull things together last minute, and add some more when needed a couple days before. Steve from Edinburgh food social was really supportive and a great guy to work with. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Worked in partnership with Edinburgh Food Social during the pandemic in December to deliver food packages to those in need within our local community. Steve is a great addition to our multi-agency network. He works extremely well with our young people and offers an informative insight to where the food is sourced and how it has been prepared. This information is then relayed to our service users via our youth volunteers. Moreover, those who have received food packages have given us excellent feedback.
