Amazing home cooked food. Chilli sauce is a must. One of my favourites now. Thank you.
I.
I got to the restaurant around 15 minutes before closing time and I was still warmly welcomed by the staff. I ordered a take way consisting of Eba with the okra special, which did take a while but in the restaurant's defence it was drawing quite near to closing time, and if you are African or are familiar with our cuisine then you know that okra soup is not a 15 minute Jamie Oliver meal #noshade. The owner's sister kept coming over to apologise for the wait, which I did appreciate as it reflects well on the restaurant's customer service; it's nice to be noticed/remembered.
Dare I say it, but the food was definitely worth the wait! Both the eba and okra special were packed (separately of course) in a box. I was slightly skeptical about the portion size but the owner's sister did mention not to be deceived as the boxes are quite deep. I can say that she proved herself right! The okra special was truly tantalising! The meat was tender, unlike some African restaurants that serve okra soup with tough meat, and the flavours were there! As for the eba...well it's eba so not much to say lol however, it was slightly on the sticky side; I think it would have been better if it had a bit more gari so that its texture could have been more cooperative with the texture of the soup (if you know about okra then no explanation needed) - maybe that's just my preference. I ordered plantain on the side, it was nice and sweet but I do feel as though it could have been just a tad riper. My husband got The Okocha, as well as the wings, and he really enjoyed his meal (props to Jollof Box because he's become a regular customer lol). I tasted the chilli sauce that came with his meal and my oh my is it delicious!
Generally speaking, African restaurants are usually quite dark with a poor taste of ill matching decor that dampens the whole mood of going out to dine. This is not the case with Jollof Box. I was pleased to step into an African restaurant that is filled with light! I am very fond of the decor; the restaurant is bright and airy, which creates a freshness and trendy vibe that matches the hipster feel of its location. I also like how the menu is named after African footballers.
Overall, I was pleased with the service and food. The restaurant is run by a humble, friendly and passionate family. I can see this place taking off in the near future. Thank you Jollof Box, we'll be back again!
P.S (To the owner): I think you should consider selling that chilli sauce e.g. just like how Nandos sell their own... 'Jollof Box Chilli Sauce'.
Also, I read other Google reviews and I can't help but laugh at those complaining about the portion size. The portions are just right and anymore than that is just pure gluttony to be quite frank.

Had a shopping lunch in here, very bright and inviting, specials menu needs to be advertised at the counter as well. Portion size of rice is enough but chicken is too small, not even a drumstick. People eat with their eyes and I suggest more photos of the food and its background to promote its traditional style of origin. The staff are very polite. Will pop in again to try something different on the menu.

Wow this is by far our favourite takeaway. The portions are MASSIVE and the food is absolutely delicious. I go for the vegan options and my husband gets the chicken. Would highly highly recommend.

The staff are incredibly friendly, the food is top notch in terms of quality and flavour. Truly a delightful experience. If you're already in the know when it comes to African food then give it a try you will not be disappointed. If you're new to African food then try it here. Whether you're eating in or taking away, it is very pleasant as the upmost effort is put into the store's hygiene level. Thank you very much for the delicious food and you will be seeing more of me in the future.

You made my day!! Very tasty food and oh my gosh that chilli sauce makes everything even more delicious!
I felt like I had homemade food, very genuine.
Lovely staff as well, they made me feel very welcome.
Will be back to taste everything you have on that menu!

OMG what lush flavours. I never leave review but this was so good I want people to know about it. I went for The Abebayor which has a bit of everything (vegan options, many to choose from).
It’s a single person portion but if you are not that hungry it’s perfect for sharing. It’s a clean and tidy restaurant, casual and the cook is a lovely lady who has magical cooking hands. Got the chance to speak to her and she has been cooking for over 15 years. Go and try this out for yourself. The hot sauce is very hot but full of flavour so you have to get it involved.

Absolutely amazing. It’s sooo hard to find authentic Nigerian/Ghanaian food in London and these guys kill it! Jollof is perfect. Beef stew is unreal. LOVE the fact that they have vegan (delicious) options so that my vegetarian, English partner can finally taste the food I grew up on! Hot sauce is a must! Mum is wonderful, as are the entire family. Loyalty card scheme is so generous. Have lunch here at least once a week and it’s always the highlight!
