S. B.Absolutely delicious food and amazing coffee! Lovely atmosphere which was very lively at lunch time. Parking can be a little tricky, but plenty of parking just around the corner. Well worth a trip out for lunch!

M. T.Very good cafe offering a simple choice of 2 mains with deserts and drinks. Very busy and popular at peak periods. You place your order at the counter and it’s bought to you at the table. Tap water is also provided free and it has quite an industrial feel to it’s interior design. Other shops nearby in the small complex of the old mines and buildings.

Coffees were crafted with the attention they deserve and an almost sinfully good cinnamon bun to follow. Service was great, staff welcoming and engaging and the open dining arrangement gave it a lovely buzzy vibe without pretentiousness. Simply loved it! NC

A.My first experience of the team here was back in 2017 in St Ives at a pop up event - I loved what they stood for and I loved the food. We've been lucky enough to dine with them on their long tables at Port Eliot and have recently visited them down in St Agnus. Every single time, the food has been full of soul, delicious and unapologetic.
They know what they stand for - and they do a bloody good job! Recommend to anyone with tastebuds (and a heart). Thanks for serving the Cornish community!

R. B.Totally worth a visit. I couldn't recommend canteen more, the staff are all really friendly . The food is sooooo good, I've been 3 times and loved it every time. They offer a very small menu of 2 dishes a day but they are always amazing, they also really accomodating to dietary needs. They have amazing cake and Custard ice cream! Need I say anymore.....

B. &. B. T.We had heard so many good things about Canteen at Wheal Kitty, and finally we managed to find a moment to try it for ourselves. The scrubbed woooden tables and chairs outside were filled with happy, smiley customers bubbling with Saturday morning chatter.
We took our vegetarian adobo home to have that night - and what a feast of ginger and flavour it was. Incredible value too - a large portion for a good price.
If you don't live locally, make the drive there. The food, the vibe of Wheal Kitty, and St Agnes are all a delight. If you live locally, you probably already go here as much as you can!
These guys also made mountains of food for NHS during Lockdown, so supporting them however you can is a great thing to do.
