What can be said, an architectural monument worth seeing, as it seemed to me, it combines Roman and Norman architectural styles. The monumental building in which a feeling of the sublime comes. During the visit, organ music was played, and I would also like to note the welcoming of the rector of the church.

I wasn't able to go inside as I went during the evening. A beautiful looking church & tower. Some ruins to side which look interesting. A very full cemetery, with some headstones that provided some entertaining reading.I'm sure there's some fascinating tales about some of the inhabitants. Parking available & 3 entrances to the substantial grounds.

Sundays from 10am are well attended for a large out of town church, the sermon is actually rather enjoyable and we look forward to the hour we spend at Elstow Abbey Church each sunday. Father Paul heads up proceedings and is supported by an excellent choir and organ player. The evening service is spoken with a handful of parishioners although still engaging.

I'm a bit biased as I married here. As you can see it's a stunning example of an Abbey that's almost 1000 years old. Beautiful building and it was a stunning setting for ours and many others wedding. The female Vicar (I won't name her here) is lovely. And it's settled in a olde-worlde part of a village, and right next to Moot Hall, birth place of John Bunyan. With the medieval architecture and surroundings it makes for some stunning photos. And wheelchair accessable.
Plus who else gets to say they were married in an Abbey!

The church became a theatre last night.
We loved the performance and the surrondings. Elstow Abbey is as mystical as it is Magical. Well worth a visit

I'm not a church goer but took my granddaughter to christingle last year and to the children's nativity service. A beautiful church set in a small village who welcome everyone.

What a gem of a find. Elstow abbey's out door theatre shows Shakespeare's midsummer nights dream. Brilliantly funny production . Can't wait to go back next year to see more. A perfect evening. Also found a tea room adjacent to the abbey that needs to be sampled soon.

A beautiful church (Abbey) in the quiet village of Elstow. Beautifully maintained, steeped in history.... and how many can claim to be christened in the same font as John Bunyan. A definite must visit.

A Benedictine abbey founded by William the Conqueror's niece, Judith. The surviving church is smaller than it would have been before the dissolution of the abbey and there are a few remains of other abbey buildings. There's space around the abbey - including by Elstow Moot Hall, to walk dogs. Free parking available.
