D. C.After a short walk up from the village you see the tower of St.Marys again another church which is more of a ruin after the congregation grew & a new church was built in the village.
A lot of history associated with this place & some of it very dark. Popular with paranormal investigators the church does have a caretaker & cctv linked to local police. However a beautiful & peaceful setting with some excellent views across open countryside. Also a unique pathway constructed from old headstones, now with new poetry etched on them.

C. A.We went to this church because we had read that you can climb to the top of the tower up a spiral staircase and that there are super views from there. Unfortunately you need to make an appointment beforehand so be warned if you want to try this talk to English heritage first.
P.As a photographer this location has been ruined by the current caretakers of the site... They have plastered warnings everywhere about alarms, cctv. No commercial photography, no entry at night and some god damn awful floodlights.
N.Quite a hot day do the walk upto the church was a slight effort,good access, they don't like drones for some reason, if you want a slice of a traditional English village and a abandoned church this is the place to visit.

R. G.Interesting derelict church with good views. Some relatively well preserved templar crosses still visible on wall. some nice walks in immediate vicinity.
O.Nice little walk upto a well maintained church ruin. Couldn't help but notice how the graves of people in the early 1900s and late 1800s lived to 80-90 years old. Definitely worth a quick visit.
I. W.The Old ruins of St. Marys is a nice spot perched up above the village of Clophill and gives some good photo opportunities. The tower is open occasionally for tours and more photos. Next door is a Commonwealth graveyard
