Reviews of Chapel Royal

Chapel Royal is a beautiful, understated building in the centre of Brighton. The Vicar, Father David, is a wonderful man who’s services are orthodox and also has a great sense of humour. He is a very kind, inclusive and supportive man.
I’d highly recommend a visit, you’ll be impressed. They also have lots of meetings, concerts and other social gatherings.

Lovely city centre church, so welcoming and friendly. Liberal Catholic tradition, openly LGBTQ friendly and affirming. Diverse congregation and great priests.

Very warm, family friendly, inclusive church right in the heart of the city of Brighton & Hove. It's doors are open throughout so that anyone can come to worship.
The congregation is a very cosmopolitan and racially diverse mix, and all are encouraged to say the Lord's Prayer in their first language, of which there are several. Children can make a noise and are never a nuisance. The worship is in the broad liberal catholic tradition. The small but well ordered space makes for close fellowship.
Everyone is welcome. There are no hard and fast rules about standing and sitting. It is lovely to see the young children gathered round the altar during the consecration of the bread and wine.
The preaching was dubious however, bordering on heretical. Having felt this church might have been for me, I decided to move on. Preaching made to try and justify one's stance rather than accepting plain biblical truth was unacceptable.

Lovely church, traditional style worship with modern theology. Supportive of women clergy, affirming of the LGBTQ+ community, welcoming to immigrants and refugees.

A beautifully calm refuge in the heart of a bustling city. Always full of really socially minded provision and a warm welcome on the door.

Stunning. The inside of this church in central Brighton is beautiful, and so unassuming from the outside, easily missed if you're not looking for.

Beautifully decorated. Organ music not to.my taste but my fault for not checking first.

A wonderful place of worship of prayer of peace and fellowship right in the centre of of the city and with a caring priest.

Amazing, not so much for its architecture as for its inclusivity. I recommend that you attend a service and judge for yourself.
