Reviews of Mackintosh Evangelical Church

This is a great, active church with a great atmosphere. The welcoming family ethos will make anyone feel at home with services that are Biblical and God-centred. The music is good but more importantly the songs that are sung a meaningful and will encourage you to raise your eyes higher than yourself, to the God who saves sinners and makes them His children.
The leaders here are sincere and trustworthy.
If you're looking for a church and you live in or around Mackintosh Place in Cardiff, you need to visit this church.

I discovered Mack when I arrived in Cardiff as a student in 2004, and have been part of the church since then. It's a very warm fellowship - not as big as some churches in the city, but easier to get to know people, to be involved and part of the church community. As a student, I found myself very well looked after, with frequent invitations to Sunday lunch!
Sunday services are at 11am and 6.30pm, with tea and coffee before the morning service from 10.30am, and after the evening service. The first Sunday of the month is a "Sunday @m" meeting with breakfast and a more laid-back service. Mornings tend to be more family-orientated with the evening services being more in-depth in the Bible teaching. There's a wide variety of activities during the week.
The church is evangelical, with people from a wide variety of church backgrounds (which can make for some lively discussions in homegroups and the like!) but united by a love for Jesus and commitment to God's word.
The church is led by a team of elders, rather than having a full-time minister or pastor, but has a full-time evangelist. There's usually a different preacher each week, either from the congregation or from churches Mack has links to, usually following in a sermon series either on a particular book of the Bible or particular topic.
There's a good mix of students, families, young professionals and older folk. It's particularly handy for the Cartwright Court and Senghennydd student halls of residence.

Had the privilege of being invited to run a bookstall at an event Mackintosh Evangelical hosted. They were very kind and generous.
Their event, which was open to all of the local community was a success.

They have a big welcome for every one to visit the church.
