E. C.This is my local place of worship and is very dear to me. My Mother and Grandmother's cremated remains are interred at the family grave site in the churchyard. My late , maternal Grandfather died as as a result of serving as a submariner in World War II. He was only 41 and alphabetically , he is recorded as the last named person on the internal war memorial under which I attend weekly Sunday services. He survived the war years but tragically succumbed to a heart - related illness in 1947 due primarily to him having spent so long devoting service beneath the waves so to speak.
My Grandfather was John Ellis Young and 14 years after his death , I was the first born to his daughter, Eileen. I was respectfully christened John Ellis Coxon. I'm very proud to have a close association with St Mary's and to continue in this vain for many years to come under my middle name of Ellis.
