Reviews of Old Saint Paul's Scottish Episcopal Church

Beautiful Anglo-Catholic liturgy on Sundays, with superb choral and organ music. Friendly welcome from congregation representing international community of Edinburgh and its Universities.

A beautiful church with an impressive pipe organ and colourful mediaeval paintings I had the chance to visit when Cantus Firmus presented renaissance choral music from France and the Netherlands. The church acoustics were amazing.

Visited for musical event. Russian String Orchestra with Misha Rachlevsky. Music played with enjoyment for enjoyment. One, if not more, concert almost every day at. Festival time. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I'd read about this church in Richard Holloway's biography 'Leaving Alexandria'. I used to run up Jeffrey St when attending Edinburgh University's Moray House as I was always late due to train times. But I'd never been aware of the church. Today I located it, went in and looked at it. Lovely!

A lovely quiet church most of the year, during the summer months, it's hall is used as a venue for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
One of the most unusual artworks is a monumental 12 foot painting by the Scottish artist Alison Watt, depicting swathes of white fabric. 'Still' is both arresting and calming. Originally commissioned by the Ingleby Gallery for the 2004 Edinburgh Art Festival, Still has remained in the Memorial Chapel of St Paul's ever since.

Saw Voices of Lions here as part of the fringe festival. Absolutely fantastic venue for this. They were thoroughly entertaining as well as blending their voices together. 💚😀

Nice church but they are not too keen when you sing the hymns in the style of James brown.

A very friendly congregation and vestry. Great pastoral care and beautiful services.

Small but worth a visit. Despite being in the city centre I spent 20 minutes in here completely alone in the mid afternoon!

Beautiful church with incredible acoustics. Great concert.
