Beautiful church inside and out

A beautiful 100+ year old church on Kirkintilloch main street. Has an open day on the first Wednesday of each month so a wonderful chance to visit and see inside this lovely, welcoming building. Built 1914 still has the original Japanese maple pews which have lovely natural worn and loved feel to them. Some of the pews have been shortened at the outside edges to allow wheelchair users to join the congregation. The wood removed was reused to make some of the sculptures inside, for example the Alpha and Omega statues and the ceremonial tables in the altar area. There are even some church mice to find made from the old pew wood. Rear car park and disabled / wheelchair access via side of church. Accessed from Cowgate not Barleybank carpark.

Think they should open up pews at both sides of church when it is busy instead of cramming everyone into one side and right to back of church where you can see nothing and sometimes hard to hear the service .
