Reviews of St Mungos RC Church
a. v.
St Mungo, was a missionary in the Brittonic Kingdom of Strathclyde in the late sixth century, and the founder and patron saint of the city of Glasgow. On the spot where Mungo was buried now stands the cathedral dedicated in his honour. Mungo's four religious miracles in Glasgow are represented in the city's coat of arms. His feast day in the West is 13 January. His feast day in the Eastern Orthodox Church is 14 January. The church was first built in 1841. The architect was George Goldie. He built the church in the Italian Gothic architectural style

Wonderfully lovely place and Father Gareth Thomas, from Wales, always gives a truly inspiring mass if you get the chance to catch him, I recommend it.

A lovely oldish church. Built around 141yrs ago, which I would imagine was around the Glasgow Tenements. Inside is quite serene and as you would expect Calm. We were at a funeral here the Parish priest Fr Frank was very welcoming and performed a lovely send off service overall lovely.

The best church in Glasgow celebrated 150 years last year Still the best place to worship, love getting in early and sitting in the peaceful quiet of a Holy welcoming church.Worth a visit

Thanks to the Passionist community at St Mungos for maintaining such generous provision of (well managed) confession throughout the covid era. Most other places (inc the Cathedral) put the shutters down! A nice Church to visit for adoration or private prayer in general.

This is my local chapel and while growing up next to it i found its not changed much over the years but is always clean and tidy and the priests have all changed but all very nice and well informed. I had both my parents funerals and my younger brothers my gran and grandads and uncles and family friends funerals here too. I would highly reccomend this place to anyone.

Nice church in the centre of Glasgow. Lovely, peaceful and quiet. Its that quiet, you wouldn't know that the M8 motorway is near by.
The passionists do a wonderful job.

St. Mangos is a beautiful chapel. The Parish Priest Father Frank is so nice makes everyone feel welcome. Then there is Father Gareth who is a one off. He is Welsh and all ways joking great with the children then Brother Anthony all ways smiling also great with the children. Father Gareth has started a Parish Young Team and the are doing great . There is another Priest but can't remember his name he is nice too. I am honoured to be a member of this parish.

Very beautiful church. Probably one of the best in Glasgow. Lovely adoration to the most Holy Sacrement every Saturday morning.

I wasn't in the actual church, so I can't comment. But I did see the outside, and also met a very lovely lady at reception who told me some of the 150 year history.
M. C.
Sadly this lovely old church appears to be shut more often than open. Check opening times before venturing up the steep hill.

I really enjoyed the mass when I visited Glasgow, the church is a little difficult to find but not that much. Unfortunately, it doesn't seemed to have a lot of people attending the masses but I suppose that is just a matter of time.
