I attended a beautiful Christmas carols event and although not much of a church going person I felt the reverence and beauty of my surroundings. The choir was absolutely delightful and could drown my tune deaf singing!😂😂😂😂😂 The church itself is definitely worth a visit and I would recommend to tourists or anyone for this matter!

I dropped in on a Saturday as the building was open. The chap who greeted us (Iesa) couldn't have been nicer, he was pleasant and enthusiastic. The building is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship and is a thriving contemporary Anglican church.

Christ Church has its own structural design and looks beautiful.

Classical splendour of a Church. According to Wikipedia, Christ Church Spitalfields is an Anglican church built between 1714 and 1729 to a design by Nicholas Hawksmoor. On Commercial Street in the East End and in today's Central London it is in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, on its western border facing the City of London, it was one of the first (and arguably one of the finest) of the so-called "Commissioners' Churches" built for the Commission for Building Fifty New Churches, which had been established by an Act of Parliament in 1711. The Church is also a gathering place for Alpha. Alpha is a tool built for local churches based on hospitality, sharing and open conversation. The same Alpha content is run all over the world, by Christians of all traditions, and provides a common expression of proclamation, service and witness. Millions of people have experienced Alpha in over 100 countries and over 100 languages around the globe. The Church also holds Carol Services, including candle-light vigil.

This beautiful Nicholas Hawksmoor church is an oasis of calm in the ocean of turmoil that is the City of London. I was in here for nearly an hour, Heard the organist giving the church organ a bit of a workout. It sounded divine. Well worth a visit.

Lovely event venue. I love the balcony surrounding the main auditorium. The plsce is full of history and character. It is a small...ish intimate venue, which suited the event I was attending down to the ground. Easy access to lots of pubs and restaurants for entertainment in the area, after the event.

An amazing community of people in a beautiful, historic building.

Stumbled upon this wonderful gem by accident. Enjoyed tranquility in a busy spot sat opposite Spitalfields market. The crypt cafe is lovely and welcoming.

A lovely church and cafe down stairs and a growing fellowship.

Great place for events, Xmas parties...

Beautifully restored Hawksmoor church, very welcoming. The crypt has a quiet prayer room and a fantastic, reasonably-priced restaurant open for teas, coffees and lunch and in the afternoon. Incredible food: at the moment they are serving a chicken wrap that is the best I've had! Friendly, comfortable - a great secret.

We go to church here and we just love it. Morning service is more family focused whilst the evening is more youth based. Lovely group of people that we connected with pretty quickly. This has allowed us to get involved in more community work within East London. It is a marvelous building with historic significance. Also close to Spitalfields market so you can grab a bite after the service.

Very spacious historical place for having coffee. Have free wifi and you can do your work by bringing your laptop and enjoy coffee.

An absolutely beautiful example of Hawkesmoor architecture in the heart of vibrant Spitalfields. An engaged church community, a really fantastic venue for formal events in the nave, and informal events in the crypt, where there is also a cafe for every day.

I gave god five star, to earn some points for when i want to gmap heaven. This space looks great on the exterior but inside i was surprisingly disappointed with. It felt like a new church more community center than historic vibration. God if you are reading this, estatic dance would be a fabulous weekly event to host here. $$$ get people into their bodies and off the un smart phones.

Though this is a beautiful venue and set in a a high trend area - Please PLEASE be extra careful with your valuables. There are outsiders passing by on the lurk. A bag was stolen right before service. A church warden was incredibly helpful and absolutely supportive. Please note that the 3 stars are not directed to the Church or the staff members themselves as they were not at fault - It won't allow me to post unless I add stars - venue and location.

Christ Church Spitalfields is one of the few and most beautiful examples of English-Baroque that exists in London.
The architecture was created by Nicholas Hawksmoor who was previously the assistant of Sir Christopher Wren at St. Pauls Cathedral.
The Organ installed in the church in 1735 is considered to be the masterpiece of the greatest organ builder in Georgian England, Richard Bridge.

An absolutely enthralling experience, truly breath-taking piece of architecture

Arguably Hawksmoor's masterpiece this church dominates the neighborhood like a great brooding eagle. Fans of Alan Moore and "From Hell" are obligated to make a proper pilgrimage to this moody and powerful structure. The Ripper tours constantly filing past provide a bit of a tacky counterpoint to this reaching otherworldly spire.

Relaxing and quite, walked in for a prayer and found a nice evening prayer event, lovely

Stunning interior & exterior, open every daytime except Saturday & Sunday morning so well worth dropping in for a few moments. There's a small exhibition about the recent renovations on the left as you enter the main hall.

This church kept my attention strongly the first time ever that I walked in the streets of London. I was in bishopsgate street, the first street ever of London that I walked in. I saw Christ Church spitalfields on the right (not knowing even the name of this church nor its history) and I felt strongly attracted to it and took a few pics. Definitely magnetism. A place that it is more than what it seems.

The surroundings where the church is situated as well as the the building interior is wonderful.
Kind of a formal church however lovely worship team and the preaching in general is uplifting.

The gleaming exterior of this Hawksmoor church really does dominate its surroundings. The church interior is breathtaking rather than atmospheric but it is most certainly worth a visit.

This is a lovely historic church building, but the worship services held there are vibrant and energetic. It's a great place to worship or visit

The architecture is impressive and the facade well maintained. It looks particularly good on a sunny day like this. I haven't been inside so I can't judge that aspect.

Christchurch retains its authoritative dominance and emblematic presence over a changing streetscape.
Seen to best advantage and impact by approaching along Brushfield Street from Bishopsgate.
Inscrutable, still packs a punch, rules the roost on this stretch of reinvented London despite new contenders and pretenders.

Beautifully tranquil and calm. Nice coffee. Proper WiFi (no daft log in required). Loos. And you can pay by card.

Hawksmoor. And a beautiful black and white floor. Say no more.

Nice café under the church, bit of a surprise. Quiet and not too busy, good quality food and drinks.
