Reviews of Hanwell Zoo
A. S. M.
I loved to find this zoo in the middle of a remote park, next to a marvellous looking church. You pay £4.50 per person and you can go in and out as many times as you want. You have a coffee shop and they serve some food also. And very important that there is a toilet fairly clean. Sadly many animals were missing, perhaps they've been transferred in a warmer place as I've been visiting in winter.. However, the animals present look very well kept and seemed happy. I have to say that I instantly feel in love with the lemurs and alpacas and the gorgeous flamingos.
L. Z.
We had a great time. We were expecting a small zoo, but it has more animals then we thought. The zoo keeper was feeding the animals at 11am, so some of them just wake up for that.
M. F.
This zoo is small and humble but there is a lot of good stuff to see and to learn. It's a great visit for little ones.
P. M.
This zoo is simple and for children not for heavy zoo goers. The atmosphere is relaxing and easy for all adults and children alike walks are great especially for seniors and children get be with nature without the fast track of life. Staff are friendly better check out the ice cream parlor guy in there from Columbia and is extremely pleasant and good to serve clients front desk lady is just the same this place is about family and nature friendly service not main stream fast track make money quick scams. Don’t believe me check out the pictures and go yourself and enjoy a day out
V. S.
Completely revamped heaven of peace with a great array of unusual animals in enclosures carefully designed. A small aquarium with a huge nest of leaf cutting ants cleverly designed.
s. l.
Such a cute local place for a quick visit. Nice way to use an hour there are a few more interesting animals meercats, monkeys and plenty of birds, chickens etc. Nice place to bring kids there is a small play area. If you combine it with a visit to the maze and a wonder around bunny park it’s a nice day out. Still one family in and out of the aquarium and masks in the shop. No cafe but there is a simple one in the park or bring a picnic
T. J.
lovely undiscovered place, few unusual animals animals like flamingos and armadillo. However showing signs of years of underfunding. worth a visit.
M.
This is a lovely small zoo, not a lot of animals. Decent value for money and friendly staff.
Small free car park.
F. J.
My Family and I was overwhelmed walking into this place for the first time. It's a well designed and observe the care and comfort of Zoo and well taken care of the various animals. it was and exceptionally great day we with the children openly enjoyed. GOD's BLESSINGS 🙏🙏 and his GUIDANCE. AMEN 🙏.
R. O.
Lovely zoo with lots of great space and great animals. Close to the train station so easy to get to and from London.
C. A.
Mmm, was a little disappointed, a few things were closed like the aquarium and the reptile center and a few things were ' coming soon', I'm sure because of covid and restrictions so didn't really get to enjoy ourselves , my 2 year old im sure loved it as its very spacious so he could run around and they had a play area just outside and a sand pit play area inside. Was expecting to see more and more variety of animals.
D. M.
Been here twice over the last 10 years. I should go more!
Animals include flamingos, rabbits, peacocks, goats, limas, meerkats, fish, ants, a mini tiger thing and chickens. Plus many more including the largest rodent on the planet.
It doesn't break the bank and is a great way of keeping the kids or yourself occupied for an hour.
It is useful to know that it seems if it's too cold you may not get to see some of the animals. Lots of facts about the animals as you walk about.
This place needs your support so please make a trip.
F. M.
Enjoyable place for a kids day out. Limited range of animals than what we were expecting but still good for the price you pay. There's a fun sand play area inside and surrounding park, streams and maze. Clean environment. Enjoyed a nice picnic there. There's limited car parking spaces but also pay and display.
A. E.
I took my little girl's and they absolutely loved it. Seeing the lemurs was the highlight of the day!
N. H.
Small zoo but with plenty on offer and a great way to entertain younger kids for an hour or two. Tack a visit to the cafe and playgrounds on with a run around the adjacent maze and you can get a full morning or afternoon out of the place. Admission prices very reasonable. Onsite toilets undergoing renovation but the ones next to the cafe are open and include clean and tidy baby changing facilities. Overall a bit of a little gem, could perhaps do with singing it's praises a little louder.
Free parking but I'm told this does fill up on busier days with overspill parking available further away. Served by numerous tfl buses along the Uxbridge and Greenford roads a short walk away, as is Hanwell Station.

Such a lovely little zoo. Great for kids and amazing price too!
s.
Love this place. If your little one is between 2-4 this is a goldmine. Full of fun things for them to do and dead cheap to book into. It’s not massive, but it doesn’t need to be when they’re that age. There’s a free car park there too - maybe just be careful if the schools are on holiday for parking. I’ll easily go back.
D. T.
Small zoo but nice place for 1 to 7 years kids, nice maze and playgrounds near this place
e. B.
Nice little zoo. Easier to see the birds, goats and donkeys than anything else. (Never got to see any lemurs). The reptile house and aquarium are closed because of Covid19 restrictions. Good playground inside. Not busy when I visited as they just reopened in April. The park outside the zoo is very nice, as well as the maze. Great playground and coffee shop too. The riverside walk nearby is also worth it.
V. C.
It was a big park with lots of children's area around and to walk. Has a mini zoo in the park which you pay online. They also had a mini cafe to buy some food items, ice cream and drinks. This park has lots of space and a cool maze!
I. G.
It's so friendly and small zoo, it's perfect for 1h .
There is not a lot animals but they have nice outdoor playground for kids with sand.
M. F.
Visited on a hot afternoon but at the zoo due to its environment it was nice and pleasant . Great place to see the birds, reptiles, butterflies and other animals. Although there is not much to see. Worth the price. Can buy food and ice cream as well. Will definitely visit again.
H. S.
Good value for an hour's entertainment. Some of the enclosures could do with a bit of work and I'm not sure how happy some of the birds are. However, the meerkats are a highlight and there is a fairly decent variety of animals for l a small zoo.
E. A. A.
It's not maintin properly.
Some of the animals not there
Zoo is very small.
Z. S.
2nd visit here and would go again, it’s just such a nice day out with the little one. Even better with covid as there’s limited slots so it’s almost like a VIP viewing with not many people inside.
These peacocks got our attention the most, little love birds snuggling up - made our day.
Friendly staff, clean zoo. Good parking. And best of all the most affordable zoo around.
S. J.
What a wonderful little place. Ideal for younger children. The highlight was the bright pink flamingos but the zoo also contains lemurs, meerkats, alpacas and a tropical room where you can view butterflies, lizards and exotic frogs. The zoo also contains a small children's playground area.
P. N.
At only £4.50 per adult, you go in with low expectations but come out pleasantly surprised. There's some quite interesting animals and some less-so, but for the price it makes for a very fun and worthwhile outing without needing much time at all.
L. M.
Nice place to visit.
Perfect for small kids.
Ticket prices are £3,50 and £7,00 for family, children under 3 is free entry. (which is very reasonable). They got nice play area for little children. Place is little but for this price is worth it. Spend nice time in there and my little Miss love to watch the animals.
P. s. a.
This is hiding place in Hanwell as there's no signposted around place but place is worth it to visit if you have got young children especially. Got a nice little cafe , reasonable priced up. Ticket prices are £7.00 pounds for family which is very reasonable. They got play area for little children can play for couple of hours. Place is little but for this price definately worth it. Everything in order and parking is free around 25 cars can park i suppose.
O. J.
Not too big but well laid out and tidy. Staff very friendly. Food very nice at the cafe. Great day out for smaller kids and good play area and maze outside. Worth a visit.
M. C.
Amazing place for nature walk. Very relaxing and can see a lots of animals and kids have a lots of activities. My niece and nephew can wait to go again . Definitely will go again .
E. S.
Lovely little zoo, perfect for younger children. Animals include flamingos, lemurs, llamas, meerkats, pigs. Nice little cafe next to the zoo. There is also a great playground with sand area and water system
D. M.
It's not massive, but it's reasonably priced for its size. Good little playground and plenty of animals for the kids to see. Little cafe outside that looked like it had a decent menu. Definitely worth a trip!
R.
This zoo is a little gem. It's perfect for a day out with the kids although I doubt you could actually spend the day here. It's never overcrowded (especially lately) and they have a good selection of animals to see.
D. D. “.
It's a great place to have a family day out. See some animals, play in parks and the kids love to run around in the maze.
Service is always so friendly and the atmosphere is always so peaceful. One of my favourite places to go!
K. R.
Lovely little zoo with animals such as Meerkats. Very reasonable ticket prices. Also the park has a great playground suitable for young and older children. A cafe (yummy icecream!) There is also a maze. Zoo not well signposted however from the park gates. But makes a lovely family day out
E. G.
This little zoo is a lovely day out for young kids. You have to pay a small fee to see the animals. Once back out in the park, they have a childrens playground. There was a bouncy castle which you have to pay for. Not sure if it is there all year round.
The park itself is lovely and on a nice day great for a picnic.
There is a maze which we didnt go in to, hopefully on another day.
m. “. n.
Nice day for small kids good day out for a picnics and
K. O.
You have to go into park to get to zoo ,the zoo itself is ok for what you pay,,,animals well looked after, there are rats running about,..on a summers day I would recommend ,and to sit outside in cafe area which is clean.
H. G.
Good 2 hours spent. Grand children enjoyed. Park was too overcrowded but the main park out of the zoo was excellent and lots of rides for young children.
T. W.
A little zoo in the middle of a lovely park. Rabbits, flamingos, meerkats, alpacas and more with some "Nemo and dorey" fish too. Our toddler loved it. Benches for a picnic and sand park to play in too. Booked online the night before without issue.
P. K.
Its good place to visit. Not too many animals or birds. But there are more area for kids play. Kids enjoy more on sand play rather than see the zoo
J. H.
To everyone who was at the park yesterday Bank Holiday Monday who saw a crumbled heap of a woman on the floor it was me and want to say a huge thankyou for all your concerns n hope I didn't upset your children felt so embarrassed for putting myself in that position. Just to update you I had a fractured shoulder n wearing a sling with pain killers. Staff and general public are awesome when these things arise the blankets coats towels helped me from going into a cold shock being on the ground. One staff member Bow ..I hope I got his name right ..was very good talking to my girls keeping them calm n even gave them a free look around at the zoo .HUGE THANKS.
K. J.
Fantastic place. Animals excellently cared for, plenty of information and the staff are lovely. Well worth a visit to this little gem!
S. A.

Last time we have been there about 3 years ago and it looked better. I think covid killed that zoo. People working there trying to do the Best so it could Look better but there is alot to do. Im sorry that there is No butterfly room which was there last time but still my kid was happy with the visit.
A. M.
A very small zoo which will take hardly 1 hour to cover with kids.It has got some selected birds and few animals.Looks like maintained by local people. It has got a small cafe and play area.
K. S.
Wonderful place for a half day out. Good ice cream and coffee. Playground outside of the zoo and sandy play area inside. Children can learn new things. Alpacas make children laugh :)
L. H.
A lovely little zoo situated in Brent Lodge Park. There r meerkats, rabbits, alpacas, goats, donkeys, chickens, flamingoes, fish, ants and plenty of birds in aviaries. There is also a play area with a wodden climbing frame and a sandpit. There r toilets inside the zoo and more toilets outside the zoo. Also outside the zoo is a café and another playground. Churchfields Recreation Ground is nearby.

A delightful little zoo. Well organised now after the lockdown. The stuff were really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend
S. F.
Cute small zoo but there were some empty spaces with no animals
M. L.
Great little zoo, all the staff are always happy to answer questions.
L. F.
Amazing day out for family. So much to do. Lots of spaces for thr children. Great picnic area and wonderful selection of food.
B. K.
Worth the money you pay for. Kids enjoyed. They have play areas for kids too. There is a maze you can walk through.
H. K.
Great little zoo with loads of animals. My 1 year old loves coming here.
R. C.
Little treasure, we went there for son's second birthday he loved it. Big playground for him to run wild, fair share of well looked after animals, and a reasonably priced cafe on site. The toilets near the maze needed a bit of TLC but overall we enjoyed our visit and would go back.
R. p. m. &. B.
It's a nice place for kids to learn a bit about animals. What I didn't like it's that Caribbean Flamingo were in there :( in a small room because this weather it's not for them.
H. K.
Lovely low cost place for kids
U. S.
It's very good place to visit. Next to it is a very lovely playground. There is car Park as well. I realy recomend it to everyone with small children. Zoo itself is worth to visit.
J. I. A.
Sweet little animal centre. Good for families and kids between 0 and 12. Maze was fun for the older kids.
b. b.
Good value. Zookeepers were very friendly and helpful spotting animals.
F. A.
Great small zoo and sandpit within easy reach of west London. Finding parking is bit hard but its worth it.
T. Y.
Love this little zoo and visit it often
Q.
A nice city zoo which will take no longer than an hour to look round and speak about the animals. Plenty of space for a picnic outside the zoo aswell as a nice little maze and park to take up another hour or so of your time. Cafe next door serves meals at minimum of £7 and has a good selection of ice creams which the kids will enjoy. We paid £9 for 2 coned creams with flake and 2 drinks.
J. B.
Very small, but great for small children. Meerkats, lemurs, flamingoes... And at £2.50 per adult, can't complain. It is located in the middle of a beautiful park too. Recommended!
c. b.
Quick behind the scenes visit. Met Timny the Armadillo for the first time. Adorable

a beautiful place. amazing for people of all age. a great place to make memories that will last forever.
J. L.
You know for what it is it's great... It's a break from the indoors of a weekend I suspect it's better in summer. It cost me £4.00 2019... Small but worth the price of a beer.
K. C.
The zoo is nice and great for the price. But there was no toilet anywhere. Not even in a walking distance.
C. K.
Sweet little zoo, which used to be known as 'The Bunny Park'. It only costs £4 for adults and £2 for kids as it is small in size, but you can go in and out as much as you like throughout the day. The collection includes lemurs, flamingoes, meerkats, capybaras and many more, plus small aquarium and butterfly/reptile house. Every time I go, they have renovated a new area. My favourite new addition today were the leaf cutter ants which you can watch as they travel along a long plastic tube to and from their nest! They also have a fun sand playground for the kids, so you might want to bring a bucket and spade.
The zoo is located within a park which also has a brilliant free hedge maze and play area, along with reasonably priced café and toilets.
R. T.
Hidden gem opposite Ealing hospital. Excellent for all ages - many different species presented here and very affordable ticket pricing.
L. C. C.
Went with my daughter and my teenage grandson his friend and my nearly 2 year old Granson, we all had a good time, easy to view the animals.
F. B.
My son really enjoyed Hanwell Zoo and he want visit the Zoo again
a. a.
It was an extremely fun area for my kids to go and I suggest you go there aswell!
A. J. A.
Very nice small local zoo for kids.
L. B. (.
Lovely local mini zoo. Some really unusual species too.
S. L.
Small but beautiful - ideal for kids. The meerkats are super fun to watch! Even if not free any more as in the past, however a new big playground is currently being built, thus added value.
M. B. J.
A wonderful place to visit especially with the little ones. Playground, cafe, toilets...
M. L. S.
Hanwell has its own little community Zoo in the 'bunny park'. Very affordable, with café and sand & water playground inside. A pocket sized zoo for the little ones to run around in, with no worry of getting lost.
Stars of the zoo for my kids are the flamingoes, meerkats, pigs & goats, reptiles, fish, and lemurs.
A little rough around the edges, the zoo is a work in progress, and well worth the annual pass.
A. D.
Fairly good for the money. Only £4.50 entrance.
It's small but decent. Great for children
S. A. M. A.
Small zoo but absolutely perfect for our 4 year old. Staff were pleasant and the maze outside is itself worth the trip. Cafe was decent too. Overall a great place for young families.
H. I.
A lovely little afternoon out with my daughter, would recommended going with the kids. Different animals and play areas present in the bunny park.
L. L.
Love hanwell zoo, and it was fantastic to be able to take my baby to see lots of animals for the first time. The new playground looked great. Staff are all really friendly and happy to tell you about the zoo and the animals. I love the community art projects. The surrounding park is lovely too
C. C.
A nice day out with the kids, quite a few empty cage's which was a bit disappointing. But overall the kids enjoyed it and costs were reasonable, good cafe there with good food sensibly priced.
A. M.
It's a nice zoo in this neighborhood! A lot of different animals.
X. E.
Great place to take the kids for a fun affordable outing.
A. B.
Very good environment!
M. I.
Animals as promised. Reptile house closed but it's winter so that's understandable
j. k.
Lovely miniature Zoo
Perfect spot for kids
M. M.
A nice little zoo with pretty good variety.
Social distancing is awful. The signposts are poor and the 'one way' system is generally ignored or unclear for visitors.
Hand gel dispensers in every section of the park were empty. In the current situation we all find ourselves in, this is not good enough.
G. o. L. (. o. L.
Amazing value, and good few mammals, birds, insects and fishes to see.
T. S.
Nice place to spend 1-2 hours with kids. They haven't maintained the place well but there is enough for kids to see and play area for the kids
A. L.
Great little zoo with mostly small animals and birds, overall great value for money. There's a nice playground on the premises and a bigger one nearby. A great few hours of fun, especially for the small ones. Friendly staff and well kept.
D. R.
I've been going here for over 30 years, it's always a great day out with the family and super affordable!
I. B.
We spent about an hour here with our 10 month old. For the price it was great value and had a good range of healthy/ happy looking animals. £4 each adult at the time of visit. Easy to get around with buggy. Hanwell Zoo is completely charming and appears to be run by a small but very dedicated team of friendly zookeepers
A. L.
I went to Hanwell Zoo last year taking a 2 and 4 year old and we loved it! As it's quite small we could go around it without rushing to try to see everything like you would try in a big zoo not missing out on anything so you can spend a very relaxing time knowing you'll have time for everything :) Staff are very friendly, the biggest hit was the pink flamingos and wathcing the red ants going around the room in a see through tunnel so you could fallow them. It has a playground and picnic area and also just outside of the zoo an other playground with a park and in the summer when we went they even had a huge bouncy castle plus an even bigger blown up slide with really fun blown up steps to go up on(most kids just coudln't stop going up and down untill they were exhausted :) ). We can't wait to go back again!
C. H.
It was ok, be warned though, their toilets are closed and you have 1 hour in the zoo, not quite long enough when you have a toddler. I use to love this place before lockdown. Quite disappointing, the guy ushering you out comes across a bit rude too
J.
Very small but inexpensive Zoo, nice for little children
P. C. L.
It is a cute city farm. I can't really consider it as a petting zoo because you are strongly advised against. Don't get me wrong, it is ok for a little visit (1 hour and it's done) and you have 3 playgrounds in the area. Plus the maze.
S. L.
A wonderful local zoo. It's recently been refurbished so a few more animals. Great staff as always!
P. S.
This was a lovely place, unfortunately cleanliness let it down. Bins were overflowing, toilets needed a serious looking at. Lack of staff meant long queues in café.
T. S. D.
Old family regular get away, which has changed over the years. Still has the same layout such has, carpark (approx 40 cars), maze, playground and animal park. Prices have jumped up massively since being re-branded Hanwell Zoo as well as having fewer animals than what i recall. Still a nice day out if your looking for a half day activity.
D. O.
It's small and local and needs support. I went in winter time so there wasn't much to see but still worthwhile. Its cheap so offers good value for money and has a café attached to it that sells ice cream. To introduce very young children to animals this is a good place to go and has a small free car park nearby.
f. h.
Parking on site but limited. Paid parking can be found in local areas. The zoo is inexpensive for London and there are a nice variety of animals for kids to see and learn. There’s a play are and clean toilets. A cafe with a decent selection of food. Outside there is a huge play area for kids of all ages and a lovely maze. Hanwell Park is a surprising little gem in Ealing.
B. T.
It's a small zoo. We have visited twice with our little one. The first time was when it was cold so not many animals were out to see. The second time we went, it was warmer weather so more animals to see. It is ok for very young children but older children will get bored extremely fast.
I.
This is not a free zoo, quiet, with some sites, the play area is the best part for kids
M. B.
My 3 year old enjoyed it, I thought it's looking a little tired and lack of maintenance there, it also looks like there is a lot of small projects started and not finished. Would I recommend it? Yes. Has a little play area with sand plus the animals there, just outside is the park and maze. We was there approx 3 hours.
M. V.
The zoo has decent price entry you can get tickets online the cafe is outside the zoo with a outside seaging area and a park and play area opposite. There are fish, meerkats, donkeys at the zoo and a small gift shop on your way out. There is also a small play area for kids at the zoo
R. F.
A small yet lovely little zoo with a nice assortment of animals for all to enjoy.
A. B.
This must be the only zoo with no animals of any kind.
Cages look derelict and deserted.
Beautiful place, but not a zoo.
N. J.
It has always been a lovely place to take the kids, but now they have done some renovation work and it is better. You do have to pay to see the animals, but it is a really cheap fee, and you can get a stamp so that you can leave and come back. They have recently added some more enclosures and animals, and a little play area inside the zoo part. It makes for an amazing day out with the kids and there is a cafe so that you can grab a bite to eat. Enjoy!
N. M.
Nice little zoo for the kids. Being so cheap it is worth it. The maze is great fun with the added extra of the park and bouncy castle. Lots of greenery for a picnic if you bring packed lunch but there is a cafe. Only downside is the tiny car park down a one way road. Easier to find nearby parking and walk down, overall a great day out. Spent around 2 hours here with 7 kids ranging from 11 - 1 and a teenage couple. All were entertained.
T. T.
A nice place for young children (under 10 years). The butterfly house is a kids favourite. Parking is free but spaces are too few so avoid weekends. Inaccessible by public transport. Take a picnic and enjoy the adjoining park and streams.
S. P.
Nice little visit for the young ones.
R. C.
It was a nice little zoo with very friendly staff!
N. M.
Atm you have to pre book, you have to plan ahead as it's almost impossible to find a slot to book on the day. Tickets are very cheap and under 3's are free. Nice variety of animals and surprisingly spacious.
R. A.
Nice zoo for relax and look to animals which cannot be seen everywhere.
O. G. S.
We loved this place! It is not too overwhelming for a small child, the fee is friendly and there is a lovely play area inside and outside the zoo. A great place to go if you only have a morning or an afternoon to spend. We will definitely go back.
S. B.
The zoo is small, you can walk around it, at a child's pace, in about 20 minutes. Lots of different birds, highlight for my kids was the meerkats, and seeing "Nemo & Dory". Theres a small sand pit/play area too. It's good value for the money but we only spent about 2 hours here and covered everything.
There is a maze and playground outside that the kids also enjoyed and you can have a walk along the river, also outside the zoo, so you can make a day of it.
M. J.
Used to go here as a child myself then took my own children now am taking grandchildren. The last time I visited it had been turned into a zoo and whereas before it was free to walk round you now have to pay to see exactly the same animals nothing has been changed or nothing new added. Still a nice place to go for a family 2 adults 2 children I think it was around 8.50 to £10 which is still cheap. Worth going to have a look.
M. R.
Small little zoo with a range of animals. My kids enjoyed playing in the sandy playground with the water feature.
E. B.
Very nice place, perfect for families with kids. Zoo is not too big but You will spend Your time there anyway :) Great playgrounds around the zoo. We had a great time there.
M. D.
A great little petting Zoo with flamingos, meerkats, pigs and various other animals. Its not very big bit is just about the right size for young kids and toddlers who usually lose interest at larger venues anyway. There is also a children's sand play area within the Zoo which is very popular with youngsters. The entry price is also very reasonable.
G. B.
Nice little place to take young children if you ignore the fact it is a bit run down. Really needs a big makeover, but the animals and birds seem happy enough. Lovely colonies of flamingoes and meerkats. Cheap to get in.... 2 adults and 2 children £10. Kids loved it.
B. P.
Lovely place and worth visiting. Lots of birds and animals there and some aquariums, too. There is also a playground, a cafe and a souvenir shop.
H. W.
Love this life zoo 💜 sandpit is amazing. It's a safe place for kids to run around. They have a few animals, some unusual like capybara. Cafe does great ice cream.
£4 zoo entry for adults
£3.50 double scoop ice cream
L. B.
Lovely tucked away gem.
Perfect for the little ones
It's not a big zoo but yes a perfect size for little little ones
There is a decent size sandpit wth a water thing for they kids to play with which they loved
There are a few parks surrounding the zoo perfect for a picnic in the park which is what we did.
Spent the whole day there
K.
I saw many different types of animals ! Pink flamingos, colourful parrots - just a few to mention from many different types of animals there 😀 it's really worth to visit . Beautiful parks and surrounding fields - beautiful nature and great landscapes ! ☺️😀
K. E.
Lovely local zoo, perfect for the younger children and in a lovely tranquil setting. Small cafe that serves children's menu at reasonable . Lovely walks as well as a maze that the children will love, all in all a great day out with the young grandchildren.
C. D.
Lovely secret zoo not too far from the centre of London

The zoo was lovely, plenty of animals to look at. Not sure u can call a room with 2tanks in an aquarium. My son loves the sand play area. There were a couple of broken units in the playground but on the whole a lovely day out
R. B.
Children really enjoyed this place when we visited in the summer months. There are animals, a park and play area, ice cream and a maze and when we visited they had bouncy castles although these were expensive the children were thoroughly entertained. Not a huge variety of animals like a zoo but for a few pounds there is plenty to see. The highlight being the meerkats and butterflies, although it is very hot in the butterfly shed so didn't stay in there long. Overall nice place will definitely re visit in better weather
B. U.
Really nice little zoo with some exotic residents...
Always fun for kiddos and with new additions
The sand play ground always keeps them entertaint for a while so you can take a minute or two 😁
V. A.
Great compact zoo, close to a limited selection of animals + birds. Very good for children, not overwhelming for them and not
too costly for family. Parking gets full but available at Golf Club short distance walk away.
Also great play area and good small cafe. Pleasant walk down to river and across Church fields to another play area for older children. Interesting church by entrance to Brent Lodge Park. St. Mary's. Unusally Jesus is depicted in stained glass window as
being realistically, definitely brown skinned.
another playground area for older children
O. T.
Hanwell Zoo is well worth a visit. It may not be very large and you should expect to spend more time on the playground than watching animals but young kids will still love the bright pink flamingos, prickly porcupines and monkeys.
T. F.
Great little zoo, perfect for young children. Very affordable and annual pass available, fab water and sand play area, free parking nearby. Some enclosures need work, but this was a great place to visit.
R. B. A. R.
Great park with plenty of space, substantial area for families to picnic, play and generally lounge about.
My reason for rating Bunny Park a 3 is simple, this park HAS THE WORST POSSIBLE FACILITIES I'VE EVER COME ACROSS! The disabled toilet lacks an actual toilet, the gents toilets are absolutely horrendous, they lack cleanliness and even ventilation....it's so bad even the flies were going crazy trying to leave! According to my wife....the same can be said about the ladies!
I physically felt sick and genuinely have a concern for any parents who'd have to use this for their children!
Coupled with the lack of parking....this place deserves a 3!
J. C.
very nice little zoo in a beautiful park.
P.
My daughter loved this place. Although less animals to see, but it is mainly for kids to see some birds. The play area for kids is a added bonus. Been living in isleworth for over 3 years and didn't even realise this was so close to our place. Good place to visit and a kids day out. Would recommend this place.
N. T.
Recently renovated, it has added an entry which is low, and you can also pay £15 a year for an adult. It has some great animals like maras, lemurs, a butterfly house, with lizards, rabbits, peacocks, flamingos, alpacas. It is great for kids. There's also a small but very good playground inside (though there is a good playground immediately outside too.)
A. W.
Nice place to visit. Well kept. Healthy animals. Good food in cafe outside.
A. K.
Glad to see it open, with new additions very good for young children and babies outing...
M. M.
Lovely place to go with children, diversity of animals and plants
I. B.
Lovely park, well maintained. The zoo is investing well in upgrading facilities and animals, a joy for my kids to visit.
On the flipside, we always struggle with the smell of sewage in the river. Parking can be a nightmare!
J. T.
Nice place for families and yong children
Hanwell zoo for adults is £2-50 and £1-00 for a child
J. M.
Nice little zoo. Price £3.50 per adult ot 2 adults and one child for £7. The zoo has: birds like flamingoes, it has rabbits, iguanas, a butterfly house, an aquarium (small), goats, meerkats and lemurs. It has a small play area with contraptions for children to explore. Overall it is very small but worth the money. Staff were friendly. The gift shop was nice. After or before going to the zoo you can explore the rest of the main park for free.
G. B.
Like most small zoos some of the infrastructure is in need of a little TLC and it could definitely do with a good weed, but there's a good selection of animals for the price and the play area is really nice if the weather's good.
H. C.
Great place with good descriptions of the animals. The animals seemed to be kept in spacious environments. Nice play area off children. Good value for money. If I lived in the area I would buy a yearly ticket.
N. C.
Lovely place for children. It has also a lovely playground which my children enjoyed.
x.
Very nice zoo lots of animals
S. B.
Formerly Bunny Park, they have made a few upgrades inside, like the sand park which has been made very well. Whilst a small zoo it's perfect for a short day trip and kept my little one busy most of the day. My dad, son and I got in for £5. We took a picnic with us, and there are plenty of places to sit outside the zoo. The park and walk way around the zoo has been tidied up and looks great. Avoid eating your picnic on the terrace outside the zoo coffee shop as this is frobidden. They also have a huge playground outside the zoo should the one inside not cover it. Parking is free.
C. B.
Quite a nice place to spend a few hours with the kids. Play area was good. Café sold good coffee but the food was no more than OK to be honest. Entrance fee is very affordable!
L. G.
Come for the meerkats, stay for the capybaras
l. a.
Great place with a lovely sandy children playground. Meerkats, capybaras, owls and leaf cutter ants among many others..
U. Y.
Great little zoo. Needs more signs and directions
O. O.
Great place. Little zoo with great playground and a lot of space for a picnic. All you need with little one's
No giraffe though. My 2yo was looking everywhere but didn't find 😜
A. P.
Firstly, let's put this into persepctive. 'Community' zoo's are rare. To find one in a gem of a park is even rarer. For it to cost less than £10 for a family of 3 is even rarer still! It's a must visit because it is so unique. The animal selection is 'ok' but broadly don't expect anything more substantial than birds, rodents and a couple of nice oddities e.g. a porcupine! It is always quiet. This place is tiny...arguably perfect for small children. Plan to spend 45 mins or so in the zoo itself, a little more if you like animal watching. There will be the odd empty cage and the place is fairly rundown but... It's a 'must go' for the experience and uniqueness of the whole thing. The cafe next door is also a welcome addition. Parking is a nightmare...so be prepared to walk for 5 minutes or so. Just go and experience it for yourself.
B. J.
Beautiful little park bit with animals... For a adult £2.50 and children 3+ £1. Little playground inside and out, bouncy castle out side the zoo £2 10 mins also a ice cream /cafe with outside park area. Will definitely come again
H. S.
Lovely little zoo, cheap prices and excellent play area for kids. Can happily spend a whole day there. Only gave 4stars as the only cafe there is overpriced, best bet would be to take a picnic and enjoy the garden out front
K. P.
Superb zoo! Kids will enjoy a lot! Few animals but theres a sand pit and also a small play area. The way leading to zoo is marvellous! The meadows make a great impact of sight!!
B. T.
Great little zoo, only problem was the stinging nettles around the enclosures! Please get them strimmed ! Both my daughters were stung by them, I did mention it to the lady at the payment desk. Other than that we had a great day.
K. G.
Such a lovely little zoo! I’m local to the area and have been visiting for several years now and each year the zoo takes on more interesting animals and upgrades their enclosures. For no more than £3.50 per adult (and less for children) its well worth the visit. There are no large animals like lions but there are a few exotic/interesting creatures like capybaras, maras, flamingos, meerkats, and alpacas to name a few.
A. P.
Lot smaller than I expected, probably worthwhile if it is local to you but not worth travelling for. The Aquarium is basically 2 medium size fish tanks.
Family ticket for 2 adults and 1 child was around £7
J. C.
Hanwell Zoo is an amazing community asset. Cheap admission, and even cheaper if you get an annual pass. Lovely and dedicated little team of zookeepers, but it's the animals who really steal the show, especially the meerkats and the ring tailed lemurs. Don't let anyone tell you that ring tailed lemurs aren't the best kind of lemurs- they're awesome!
The new playground is a big hit with the kids too- and no visit is complete without an ice-cream from the lovely cafe and a run round the maze.
j. p.
Great place for a Sunday walk with a family. Little zoo with a fair amount and variety of animals. Does need some work here and there, but you can tell loads is being done to keep this place fresh and exciting.
R. A.
Beautiful place to take kids!
E. N.
This is a great venue for taking young children. Mine (age 2 and 5) are obsessed with the relatively new playpark which has some unusual play equipment such as a trampoline, water play and a handle which makes loud animal noises! There aren’t loads of animals but they have some unusual ones such as capybara and flamingos. The most entertaining are the lemurs but they are not always out of their house. Recommend taking a packed lunch and sitting on the bench by the flamingoes or up by the turkeys. Nice little shop on the way out which is not overpriced.
C. F.
A small zoo with a play area for young children. Meerkat, flamingos, goats, rabbits and many others but no lions or tigers. Very tiny aquarium, you'd see more fish in many garden centres. Inexpensive and set in a free park.
H. T.
An excellent little gem in Hanwell. It has a lovely range of animals and insects and is located within a beautiful park. There is also a lovely little cafe next door, which serves hot and cold drinks, hot meals and snacks and has an amazing range of ice creams. It's a fantastic little day out. It is about 10 minutes from Hanwell rail station but could be served a bit better by transport, owing to the regularity of trains at Hanwell station.
P. P.
Lovely for toddlers. As you would expect the variety of animals is limited but the cost is so low which more than makes up for that. They also have a nice play area and a car park
B. W.
Cute little zoo for kids. The maze is good fun to run around in
M.
Charming little zoo with plenty of interesting animals. It is very cheap and so it is great value for money. There is also a park just outside of the zoo as well as one that has just been added inside of the zoo so it is great for children.
T. S.
I really liked it! Tickets are so cheap and it's worth it to go and see the animals with a group of friends or your family. The hedge maze is very fun too and overall this place will make for a thrilling experience!
w. R.
A mini zoo with lovely animals, and alot of ducks
v.
Fun and manageable for an afternoon with kids. Great garden maze and the animals, though not exotic, are enough to hold the attention of younger children (3-10).
K. H.
Lovely little zoo, but very strick on the time you have booked for, due to the car park & someone jumping in my spot as I was parking in it, this made us late & we only had half hour in the zoo...
Shame they dont have a carpark :(
F. C.
Fantastic community zoo, fun for all ages. Lemurs, meerkats, flamingoes, butterflies, reptiles, goats, pigs and ducks as well as many more animals apparently arriving soon! Can't wait to see what they do next! Well worth a visit! Parking available but limited so would recommend using public transport to get there.
C. H.
The Museum is a fascinating place to visit, with so much history of Barnet to explore. Barnet is such a historical town. I have even donated a few pieces that I 'gathered' over my life time. This is a free local opportunity to get a sense of local history from war, family, sport, outfits, etc. Nice group of volunteers.
N. B.
Really good fun for the kids and great value. Highly recommended as a good way to spend an hour.
E. B.
Wonderful little zoo, great value at £2.50! The animals all seem happy and well looked after. Set in a nice park with a maze as well so you can make a day of it.
M. B.
Fun cheap different
Now £2.50 entrance fee, but better experience.
Cafe serves limited food, lots of ice cream and coffee.
Children's playground and large shrub maze
O. S.
Great selection of animal and day out
E. G.
For £4 entry can’t complain really, compact little zoo but quite a lot to see, some parts could do with a makeover including the toilets, place is over run with rattus norvegicus still all god’s creatures, nice little cafe also.
L. H.
Lovely little zoo. Only £4 for an adult ticket and a lot better than the price suggested with quite a few unusual animals. Loved the leafcutter ants!
P. R.
Zoo is basic but the area is a good place for kids. The hedge maze brings us back when we visit the area. Cafe is fine, good icecream and coffee.
N. P.
small but nice place, sand playground for the kids and very reasonable prices at £7/adult and £4/child. great day out. can walk around the place in an hour
L. B.
Very nice place for the damily day out. Everything there, country side walk, playground, cafe. The zoo is not big, just the right size for kids to enjoy.
B. H. (.
Really enjoyed coming here with friends, thought it was really cheap to get in and such a lovely place. What a lovely thing to have in Hanwell.
We were all pretty in love with the Porcupine and the goats!
We'll be back again soon!
L. M.
Good
D. S.
What a lovely surprise to find this zoo in the middle of our walk.
B. B.
Great little zoo, perfect for kids. Some areas in need of tlc, but now entry fee will help re-investment. Definitely worth a visit.
P.
Great place for young kids, zoo, playgrounds and maze.
S. D.
Small local zoo. Not many animals but improving all the time. Inexpensive and fun for an afternoon out with kids. Cafe and play park on site as well.
M. D.
I used to live very near the Bunny Park 6 years ago, and really liked it, but it was a bit run down. Heard about the new Hanwell Zoo, and thought I would go and see what it was like. Didn't park in the car park, as it was full. Parked further away and walked to the zoo, but it was a beautiful sunny day, so didn't mind. The zoo is very organised and looks so different. There are so many different animals to see, from butterflies, birds to goats and flamingoes. I liked the reptile / butterfly house, just wished they had made it bigger. Loved the meerkats; I know that you can organise a 20 minute visit with them, but I think it was quite expensive, but it might be one to cross off my bucket list. All in all, for an entry fee of £2.50 it was a great place to visit, and I know that some of the enclosure are yet to be filled with animals in the near future. Would recommend.
A. B.
Nice little zoo with some cool animals and a clean play ground and maze nearby. Also has a cafe onsite.
N. P.
Great fun with small children. Dedicated staff clearly put in a lot of effort to care for the animals. Meerkats are hilarious!
N. A.
Staff in the zoo are very friendly, it's a nice little place to take the children for a relaxing afternoon there's also a good cafe with nice food ice creams etc, reasonable prices and staff there are friendly too
M. R.
Very nice place with very nice cute animals to see. Perfect for kids and family.
D.
Lovely day out for the children, especially now it has been refurbished. The food is nice and there is ample space to sit outside, however parking is a nightmare and the bouncy castle is over priced.
D. B.
Been there a few times now; it's cheap, and a good start to getting kids into nature. But really rubbish cafeteria, and regularly empty enclosures each time we've been.
B. W.
Fantastic small zoo set in a huge park. Good cafe by zoo entrance. Small entrance charge but free re-entry all day. Rabbits, alpacas, goats, butterflies, small reptiles, budgerigars,...
h. e.
Well maintained space with some exotic animals like Capibaras within a lovely, green spacious park, with interesting attractions for the children such as a fun maze, a zip line and several playgrounds.
m. B.
A great little zoo. We went with 3 of our children aged 3,8 and 11 all of whom enjoyed their day out visting rhe animals, playing in the park and zip wire
P. W.
Lots of animals and staff working hard in a cage were goats were too
D. M.
Our favourite place. Love the lil zoo... we enjoy sitting in the park. Not far from cafe and park. Kids go in the maze and park.... ice cream from cafe. They happy as Larry.
R. H.
If you like looking at limited amount of animals during coronavirus would be good to take the kids. Not my personal first choice.
L. J.
Brilliant little zoo. Lovely small sand playground that my 2 year old really enjoys playing in. Staff are very friendly and animals look well cared for.
L. A.
Great choice of animals to view
Very well looked after
Cheap entrance
And plenty of help and information points
F. J.
Relatively small Zoo but you aren't charged much to enter and there's other things close by you can do after like the Millennium Maze, sand pit play area and inflated bouncy castle and slide
H. G.
It's toddler friendly especially in good weather
M. M.
Limited space in free car park,2 minute walk past the church entrance to entrance to small zoo,2 adults ,2 children £8.50 reasonable price, cafe adjacent to entrance, drinks and food available to eat in or take out, seating area on the patio, sand pit slides etc in the zoo area ,grandchildren had a great time. The park itself has plenty of swings slides climbing frames etc .Gem of a place once you find it not signposted properly but head for the church, very peaceful park, you will not be disappointed .
R. H.

I have visited Hanwell Zoo First time with my two Daughters age 5 and 3 it was really awsome weather sunny day we spend 3 good hours there every thing was so good , I have worked in similar envoirnment in Pakistan about 3 years i waas marketing Manager of Safari park called Rana safari park.
I saw in Hanwell Zoo its written please do not feed the birds and animals which i belive due to Hygenic products which may be cause of sickness to animals
My Kids and i belive every ones kids will love to Feed the birds and animals by themself and my kids were insisting me we need to feed them biscuits pop corn etc etc whatever they are eating they want to feed the birds but unfortunately we cant as its written Do not feed please.
I will suggest if on the entrance some Quality aproved birds feed snaks should display on sale which we can buy and feed them approved products it will really increase the revenue and we will fullfill our satisfaction as well .. i know birds and animals have certain feed time so its an another oppertunity to bring kids on certain time of feeding . I hope management will have think about this suggestion.
Thanks
Khurram Khan
K. R.
This is is ok, not the best range of animals probably the best animal it has are the flamingos. If your thinking lion tigers elephants etc then it's not that kind of zoo best you will get are boars goats and birds
M. D.
Not too shabby. But run down but getting back up
A. H.
Small zoo, nice and well maintained! Nominal fee for entry, which I welcome as it helps keep the riff raff out and the money goes towards maintaining the zoo.
E.
Wonderful zoo with such a great range of small animals. Excellent playground and the Cafe is really good too.
S. Q.
Went there today .It is nice. It is better to advertise it as a petting zoo. Kids had a nice time. As a family of four, it costed us £8.50.
