Wonderful old Anglican Evangelical church - the original home of the Clapham set, can lay claim to be the modern birth places of British Evangelicalism. Continues to provide a warm friendly welcome in the 21st century

This church has a great history behind in freeing the slave trade back in 18 century. Check out Zachary Macaulay and William Wiberforce to learn more..

A community who come together regularly to break bread, share life and worship.
An incredibly social and well resourced church.

Landmark late 18th century church located where the old village met its Common. Is it to be found open apart from times of liturgical and other events (to be fair, the pro beggars around here are an experience)? If you are into architecture and want a good laugh, look at the earlier 20th century English attempt at the Baroque which comprises the east end.
BTW, I found St Paul's nearby open at the same time (a Thursday afternoon).

A historically important church; this is where the "Clapham Sect" led by William Wilberforce and Henry Thornton met. Their campaigning led to the Slave Trade Act in 1807, which banned the trade throughout the British Empire.

A Wonderful Church In The Heart Of Clapham Common! This is a very nice, multicultural church situated on the Lush Clapham Common. You can feel the anointing as you enter the Place. On Sunday the 26th of May 2019 at the 11.00am Service, Senior Pastor Jago Wynne preached an amazing sermon on Genesis 22, titled What Is Your Idol? A brilliant, outstanding message that emphasised the fact that anything that is more important to a Christian than God is an idol. God should always come first. He referred to Abraham, who was willing to sacrifice Isaac, his long-awaited, beloved son due to his unshakeable, overwhelming faith in God before the angel of the Lord stopped him. Well done, Jago for preaching a magnificent message!

Completed in 1776 coinciding with American Declaration of Independence. Indelibly associated with 'The Clapham Sect', the abolition of slavery movement and a subsequent history at the forefront promoting and pursuing humanitarian causes.
An active community here.
