Lovely church service on a Sunday by our old Vicar Tom. Great to be able to sing again in church and listern to the organ. All finished off with tea and biscuits.

The only way to have a quiet moment of it's own in central london is to enter one of those little gems...an other legacy, daytime only! Refresh and have a think inside the church itself where you might find yourself lonely but somehow lucky or blessed...or wonder outside in the back garden slightly busier.

I sing with Sing London Gospel Choir. Last night was a workshop and as always it was amazing. Our coach knows how to bring out the best in us vocally. We rehearse at St Giles in the Fields Church.

The site of St Giles-in-the-Fields Church has a history going back to medieval times, although the the present church only dates back to 18th century. Architecturally, the church is interesting for being the first English church to be built in the Palladian style. Even if the church isn't open, it's worth a detour for those with an interest in architecture.
As others have mentioned, St Giles was the last church on the route the gallows at Tyburn. An interesting bit of trivia is that the churchwardens paid for the condemned to have a drink at a nearby pub, popularly called "St Giles' Bowl".

Beautiful Gothic church where Lord Byron, Percy Bysshe Shelley and Mary Shelley worshipped and had their children christened. John Wesley's pulpit is on display and as is an inscription for the poet and activist Marvel.

This place is special to me as it is a place where my family genealogy has one of its roots. My father's immediate family genealogy came from here and thrived here for a few years.

Well worth a visit. Good to see an active ministry to rough sleepers and other groups too.

I came to visit the plague pit that surrounds this church as I am widely interested in dark history. Very interesting and I am told there's information on this on the inside of the church. A nice spot to sit outside to get away from the busy city just beyond the gates.

Always love escaping the hustle and bustle for a few minutes here. It's effectively nothing special, but it's an little oasis if peace. We always play on the swings, and there's always someone walking their dog here. Could do with a few more benches, and it's a shame that the grass doesn't grow where the sun doesn't shine, but a much needed quiet spot in an otherwise hectic part of town!

Lovely Church, "The Poets Church" in the borough of Camden.
They put on quite a few events and some interesting stuff.
So they are really opening up with the local community and trying to bring people on in.
Really admire this as the Church of England have to re-invent themselves, once people start visiting these wonderful buildings then they may start to realise they are very good places to sit and reflect upon life for a while.

Amazing venue for intimate concerts. Seeing William Fitzsimmons for the first time is going to give me goose bumps ..but before that Hanging Valleys Thom gave an amazing performance.. definitely will follow this place for future gigs.
On the down side..very limited public restrooms and no bar ..😭😭😭 which is needed more than my prayers

Great help to the people using the hall thank you

Market days on Thursday are great!

Grade I Listed church associated with the surrounding notorious 19th.Century Seven Dials and Rookery slums. Atmospheric interior, important artefacts but a gloomy and enervated garden.
Now cheek to jowl with the Cross-rail/Tottenham Court Road 'redevelopment'.' This fortuitous new-found prominence potentially assures more public interest as this Palladium landmark is central to the narrative of the local heritage industry.

On Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes theres a world streetfood market behind the open gates...theres somewhere to sit and eat freshly prepared foods from places like Venezuela, Mexico, Thai, Greece, the US and so much more.
It's just behind the Central St Giles buildings, which you cannot miss as they are brightly coloured! It's on the St Giles Circus which means you can approach it from Covent Garden's Neale Street, or opposite the major theatres showing "Memphis Belle" or from Centre point, Tottenham Court Road, Soho, Holborn or even Bloomsbury!
It's not a huge affair, but an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the Capital amid some trees, which makes deciding between the 8 or so food artisans reasonably easy. Although the emanating sizzles and flavours makes it a tough call every time. I go with every intention of a falafel wrap smothered in homemade hoummous and fresh peppers only to find myself wiping the juicest gravy from pulled lamb from my cheeks instead.
When you ask the chefs how they made their dishes they are always happy to talk about it - unless they have a busy spell, then its order-dish- wrap-serve at speed.
It's a must try on any shopping trip. A chill out and eat well zone.
The market is curated by Epicurean Events who host more streetfood markets around London, which I intend to discover and review soon.

it's known as the poets church. it's lovely inside and if you're in the area it's nice to check out as it's free but I wouldn't go out of my way unless you're a fan of victorian poets.
