Excellent church built in memory of Admiral Nelson on the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar 1905. Built in the gothic style and designed by C H Gage, who was part of the Art & Crafts movement related to William Morris. And looks older than the actual age of the church. It has a part of HMS Victory at the back of the church, which used to be on the High Altar. The stained glass window in the Lady Chapel has been taken from a Edward Byrne-Jones design from All Hallows’ in Liverpool and Morris’ pupil, Henry Dearie, made by Morris & Co on the Wandle. The tower also houses a peal of 10 bells. 7 of which were cast at Whitechapel Bell Foundry from 2014 - 2017 before the foundry shut permanently.
