A really calm and peaceful place with greenery all around. The church is small, but very beautiful and quiet. One can hear the chirping of birds inside from the courtyard.

Beautiful old church minutes from Coal Drops Yard yet very peaceful. Interior is well worth looking at too. Also services are held every day if that's for you. Sir John Soan's tomb and the Hardy Tree are the highlights of the graveyard.
P. M.
Wonderful escape to a beautiful ancient oasis far from the railway hubbub.
E. P.
This Churchyard is very relaxing to be in, even if just for 10 minutes. I would say Heavenly Peace. So such an escape from traffic and crowd. Also a very historical spot that brings you back in time.
I thoroughly enjoy all the times and strongly recommend
T. C.
Lovely peaceful oasis in the busy city.

Lovely old Church in very historic setting!
S. B.
It is very calm, picturesque, serene and tidy place for relaxing and walking. The tombs and tablets also depict interesting historied related to the place.

Lovely church, married here 30 years ago. Went to a mass here the other day and thoroughly enjoyed the mass. The congregation all seemed to know one another and really all enjoyed one another's company. Nice to see in this day and age.
U. A.
Had the enormous privilege of photographing David Lance Callaghan and The Primitives playing acoustic sets in the Church, fabulous place.
N. B.
Historic and atmospheric church and churchyard and just a stone's throw from the new Kings Cross and St Pancreas developments. The soon to be completed level access entrance will make it more welcoming still.
G. D.
Went on the Historic tour around the grounds of this delightful Church.
M. S.
Visited in September while on vacation and loved it! Very reverent service, interesting sermon, and incredibly warm congregation. Helped us figure out restaurant choices and sights to see in the neighborhood, all while providing us with coffee and cake after church. If we lived in London, this would be our home church.

Visited St Pancras old church Jan 2020
When we learned of the Hardy Tree's existence we just had to find it and we did.
The bonus was discovering this lovely little church just up the road away from the hustle and bustle of St. Pancras station.
The Hardy Tree is well worth a look. The tree has indeed grown around all the gravestones and although fenced off there is ample opportunity for some great photographs.
The little church is a work in progress and volunteers help maintain its pristine look.
It's quite sparse inside with no great trappings of visible wealth but the simplistic decor only adds to the tranquil ambience and it was nice just to relax there for a short time.
Well worth a visit and The Hardy Tree is the icing on the the cake
I. S.
Such a brilliant venue for intimate gigs. Great acoustics. Dimmed lights. Gorgeous décor & architecture inside and outside. Fantastic atmosphere… left this place feeling very happy 😊
Loved a wonder around the church yard before the gig. A true gem at the heart of the city.
A. F.
St pancras church is based close to st pancras station and is one of londons oldest churches.
The church has grave stones on the floor inside the church and and a wonderfull chaple of jesus and woden beams on the roof, there is a small court yard, park area to sit which has a large monument in the centre.
There is also a clock tower to one side.
When the main line was built, the graves were moved and the headstones placed around the large trees.
A historical place to visit and a hidden gem of london, highly recomended and is aprox 5 mins walk from the station.
D. S.
Mainly visited as my great grandad was christened here but it was a beautifully calm spot in a busy city. I spent some time in prayer in the church and lit a candle before exploring the grounds. Well worth the visit.
E. S.
Very nice and peaceful. It's a little hidden gem of a church and graveyard.

The St Pancras Old Church is a cute little church in the heart of Central London. There's a disputed claim that the origins of the church date back to the 4th century. Which would make it one of the oldest extant churches in the world. Inside, the church certainly has a medieval feel with exposed walls as well as other less sophisticated building features.
The church grounds has some truly epic graves and monuments such as The Sloane Mausoleum, the burial place of the architect John Sloane, and the The Burdett-Coutts Memorial Sundial in memory of Baroness Burdett-Coutts for her philanthropic works.
If visiting, do hunt for the Hardy Tree, a really interesting tree that has grown around headstones!
A. M.
It was the grave of Mary Wollstonecraft that first brought me to the churchyard of St Pancras Old Church, and it quickly became one of my favourites. It manages to be both easy to reach from the nearby main train stations and seemingly cut off from the rest of the world as the churchyard is shrouded in trees. It's rich in history and seems well taken care of. If you need some quiet time, this is one place to consider.
A. A.
Love this old church. The history that oozes from every corner transport you to a.different time.
Is a beautiful place to visit either for a quiet contemplating session or to listen to music.
This is one of the hidden treasure of London.
M. F.
This is a good example that London is much more than Big Ben and all those other tourist attractions. And best of all, this is not crowded. And of course The Hardy tree is worth visit!
S. P.
Fantastic venue. We watched an Icelandic band called hugar and it was so intimate and atmospheric. It’s really easy to find, there’s an accessible loo, a cool tree with grave stones all around it in concentric circles and some pretty cool feminist history. They also sold drinks but cash only as it’s out of a kind of mini fridge.
A. P.
Very calm, peaceful and beautiful church.
A. P.
It is a small church, very beautiful and particular, in the way it was built in its time, features that makes it one of the oldest Christian places of worship in England. As the times evolved, it was restructured many times, bat its change and expansion of its structure, took place in the Victorian historical period.Tourists just arrived on the place , you can immediately notice that the sacristy of this church is very large, compared to the size of the entire arra. In this review of mine,I considered it right to point out, throughout the age, famous and illustrious people of England. Unfortunately,it’s a church that more than once is not mentioned among the recommended tourist destinations and, in this regard I want to add that I saw it and could admire for a pure and lucky case.I recommend it because it’s a beautiful and above all very interesting place from the historical point of view.
S. W.
Superb music from a real talent, and in such an atmospheric and special setting. But if you're going at this time of year, wrap up; it wad only marginally warmer than outside
S. B.
Beautiful little church that feels so out of place in the local surroundings, but allows you the time and space to just sit, relax and take stock. The gardens are very nice and a welcome break from the stress of the travel hub around the corner
M. W.
Went there to watch the amazing emmavie everything was good untill me and my friend got locked in the toilet luckily got let out before she performed my favourite song because I would of been happy having to sing from the outside toilet
M.
A place of peace a few steps from the station.
M. C.
I saw Dashboard Confessional do an acoustic set here, and it was absolutely incredible. An amazing atmospheric venue
J. B.
Not been here before - in fact I'd not really see myself as a church person - but went to see a gig here and wow it's amazing! Donate for the restoration!
C. A.
Lovely historic church with beautiful grounds. Friendly staff who helped us see the small but informative exhibits on the history. Worth a visit for the Thomas Hardy tree.
D. a. D. T.
Wandering around London today and amidst the hustle and bustle of Kings Cross, we came upon this little hidden gem, so peaceful.
c.
A small oasis in the hustle of St. Pancras. Full of history, but little of it explained. The graveyard was cut in half to make way for the railway to the Midlands. Some of the gravestones were piled around a small tree which has grown up in the centre. the Hardy tree.
M. P.
What a beautiful magical church! Today I spent my lunch in St Pancras Gardens. It was so peaceful, the birds were singing. Then Margot and I went to St Pancras Old Church carols service. The quire were magnificent and the organist played well. They sang among the flickering candles next to a huge lit Christmas tree. Their voices were otherworldly. I didn’t expect such a gift. The church was locked for the service with only a few parishioners inside. It was such peace and beauty. It was transmitted live by Age UK Camden. We were there!
D.
It was a very peaceful place full of history. Love how quiet the church is and can hear birds chirping from the courtyard
B. L.
Lovely calm , very charming , well looked after church and is open to everyone .
M. H.
Still searching for Francis Dubois and her burial as a French entire around 1850's in Kings cross area.

Lovely place and a few photo opportunities for Beatle fans.

Lovely old church in Anglo saxon style.

I feel blessed and pray for love.

I do know its great Happiness my univ.flat is located this area
M. J. H. (.
Nice little church with huge history.
C. K.
An ancient site with some pieces of old building. The best component of this hodgepodge assembly is Quinlin Terry's interior screen in a well considered Doric.
F. B.
Interesting and peaceful church and churchyard in the midst of major city. Church is beautiful - classic. Churchyard has benches - lots of mature trees - perfect quiet space. Fascinating Hardy Tree worth s look although disappointed with red and white striped tape keeping it well away .... would have liked to get closer - also spoilt photos. Lovely spot.
d. c.
Fabulous, unexpected find... well worth a visit..
A. M.
Beautiful small church in a very nice park, worth a visit
B. W.
Awesome place! Home was huge interior so beautiful. All typically the detail within the construction will be something worth going to be able to see. A lot involving history in this setting up as well. Perfectly stored and friendly people. We will definitely visit once more next time I'm throughout the area.
Y. C.
I always walk by this beautiful church.🙏
I feel blessdd and pray for love.
When I go for a walk nearby here
Its great blessing my univ.flat is located this area
M. S.
Peaceful place and if u actually read about the history of the places its actually very interesting, nice place to just unwind.
T. T.
A beautiful old church with a peaceful place to pray, and lots of guide books and information boards if you want to understand more about the history. The graveyard is small but has some very notable graves, including the Soane monument.
R. D.
I couldn't quite give this church five stars as although it is utterly distinctive in appearance, strange and sort of eccentric it is rather bleak inside. The churchyard surrounding it has greater interest in a way with a tree surrounded by so many old gravestones stacked right against each other that were apparently removed to one place to facilitate railway construction. Most spooky. The graveyard also has one or two famous occupants.
n. A.
The Church was ok but I did not like the little park in front of it. The Bin's were full. The fence looked come down. It needs for sure some work to make it look nice.
J. B.
History in motion. The Hardy Tree is there , So are. The headstones of Mary Wollstonecraft & Johan Christian Bach ( Johan's Sebastian's Son)
Find the tree , opposite the sundial, which has a remembrance plate?
R. E.
I’ve been to many gigs but none come to mind so fondly as watching Rob Lynch (and support) at this venue. So intimate and atmospheric- highly recommended if you want a truly raw concert experience
A. D.
Beautiful church and grounds. The old and recent history is amazing, make sure to read up - there is information and publications on site. A must visit if you are in the area (or not). Make sure to see the tree growing through grave stones which photos of don't do justice.
L. E.
Beautiful small and warm church :-)
D. S.
A beautiful venue, with very nice acoustics. Now, there are toilets indoors! Can get a bit cold, so wrap up warm. Sat on low, church chairs, which can be a pain, but there's plenty of space between rows.
D. L.
Interesting neo Norman church a stones throw from St Pancras station.
R. V.
Lovely little cemetery (a park, really) definitely stop if you're near by.
J. G.
A delightful and quiet churchyard, considering its location. It contains Sir John Soane's family tomb, designed by himself, the top of which was the inspirations for G Gilbert Scott's K2 telephone box. Here also is the Hardy tree with many gravestones embedded in its roots. Hardy worked when a young architect to move the graves from the eastern part of the churchyard when it became part of the St Pancras railway line.
P. W.
As we were going there late, the church itself was already closed. The outside of it, the garden, where you can walk around, is very beautiful though and I believe the church must be amazing too from the inside. Recommended
S. M.
Lovely building. Great evening gig with phildel
N. D.
Beautiful old church ⛪️
B. C.
It's a quiet place in the middle of a busy place!
B. S.
Nice church and interesting graveyard.
A. K.
Good place great mellow astomphere family 👪friendly place 👌great design COVID-19 friendly ticks all the boxes 📦😀👍👌😊
A.
The oldest Christian Church site in London apparently and has the only Grade 1 Monument in London, upon which the ubiquitous red telephone box was based! Has to be seen. A truly lovely backwater worth visiting.
H. O.
Well preserved church. Not far from the station.
A. A.
Best performance ever and loved the atmosphere
A. H.
Nice little live music venue, just behind St. Pancras station
E. A.
My favourite place in the area to take the dogs for a walk. Unfortunately a few other dogs owner had issues as some dogs were poisoned. Always keep an eye out!!!
D. R.
This was God's house apparently! I'd have expected it to be bigger. Nice enough. Sells candles for 20p.
K. G. D.
I’m here with the singer-songwriter:
Logan Parker
I’ve been before. It’s a great space, a sacred space with a historical and spiritual heritage down the ages.
Now has a multiplicity of functions.
V. S.
I was married here in June 1958. A wonderful day, sunny and warm in a beautiful setting. The Vicar who married us was a kindly man. About 100 guests enjoyed the ceremony. Unfortunately, my husband died after 54 years together - we had happy memories of the day and a very happy marriage.
G. J.
As ever, as non religious, am not equipped to give a meaningful review. I tend to visit churches to look at plaques and gravestones. This is a treasure. It is 12th century CofE church and has Sir John Sloane's mausoleum. Also has the graves of Mary Wollstonecraft, Johann Christian Bach, Samuel Cooper / Cowper and William Godwin. The church site may date back to the 4th century and their are theories about it being originally Roman. It is named after the Roman martyr, St Pancras.
H. A.
Very nice located very popular place close to King's Cross and St Pancras International.
J. H.
If you stand between Kings Cross and St Pancras Stations and look north along Pancras Road, the view is very 21st Century. Modern, shiny and new. Even the old buildings have been polished bright. If you follow the road the shine disappears along with the noise of Central London. Ten Minutes walk and under the railway bridge you'll pass the St Pancras Old Church Yard. Watch you don't miss it, hidden behind a wall and up some stairs.
You might be changing trains or stepping out of the office for lunch. You might just be in the area and looking for a moments peace. Whatever your reason, it's worth taking the walk to this remarkable place. Well shaded by the trees on a sunny day, you can almost forget that your close to the centre of London. Trains to the Midlands, the South Ease and The Continent pass by just a few feet away, but you just don't notice them,.
A place to sit and relax, you'll find yourself fascinated by it's history. One of the most imposing sights as you walk through is the Tomb of Sir John Soane. If you think there is something familiar about it, there is. It inspired Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in his design of the Iconic red telephone boxes. The Churchyard has connections as varied as The Beatles, New Jersey (USA) and Mar Shelleyy
You might spot a whole bunch of grave stones piled up around a tree, This is because they were excavated and moved when the railway was built. The tree is known as the Hardy tree after of the young man who was in charge of the excavation. Thomas Hardy, known best for his novels and poems. Not surprising then this really is a place to get 'Far from the Madding Crowd'
M. A.
Even though am not a Christian. Obvs...😆. I do admire and appreciate beautiful church architecture. Here’s an example.
C. C.
The churchyard is more interesting than the church, containing, as it does, the mausoleum of architect Sir John Soanes. This small structure is the inspiration behind the classic red British telephone box.
M. T.
A treasure of a place. A sanctuary in the city. The hardy tree, sir John soanes mausoleum and the grave stone of one of my heroes. . Mary wollstonecraft Godwin. Definitely worth the short walk up from the station.
J. D.
Who knew this was here! Found it as part of a free organised walk. Very interesting. The founder of the RSPCA and NSPCC is buried here. Her mausoleum has 2 lions and 2 Collie dogs around it. It also has the Hardy tree.
D. M.
Very cool venue. Was here for a Bird on Wire event. I like the decor and the information boards in the foyer are interesting to read. Good luck with the restoration
j. b.
Mystical and melancholic mound shrouded in a disquieting atmosphere. Offering a ruminative respite from the hectic resurrected Kings Cross/St. Pancras travel hub and the allurement of consumerism.
Here numerous historic associations and reverberations redound through the ages. Evocative.
London's ancient beating heartland.
“we late lamented resting here are mixed to human jam and each to each explaining in fear I know not which I am.”**
** Thomas Hardy.
L. S.
Lovely and ancient church in a beautiful spot
T. O.

A tremendous place that I’ve labeled home for 13 a long time now. From the amazing welcome towards the inclusive community it's a place you’ll be recognised with open arms.
T. K.
Just discovered this calm oasis fe minutes from busy King's Cross. A 11th century church, the bell tower was added later. There is a lovely park around it.
M. A.
A deep rooted history, surrounding graveyard has many surprising aspects and a wealth of history to be uncovered. A gem within the city😃
J. G.
Beautiful 12th-century Church that doubles up as a great intimate music venue. If someone you like is playing here don't miss it, it's special.
R. D. G.
The tree that grows among the gravestones is one of the most striking shots I´ve ver taken in London. Sir John Soane´s tomb is also a must stop destination
R. R.
I'm led to believe this has been a religious site since pre-Roman times, not being a praying man the interest here for me is the actual building and surrounding grave yard which i found to be most interesting.
B. D.
Beautiful and quirky, memorable visit and emotional atmosphere at the concert of Belle Scar!
I. K.
It's an embassidorial building, nice and quite place to meditate/worship.
M. S.
One of the oldest sites of Christian worship in England. Open every day. Plenty of luminaries buried in the churchyard.
T. T.
Nice old rural church which used to be on a riverside North of London, unfortunately modernised by Thomas Hardy before he became a novelst, he managed to remove much of the original mediaeval atmosphere...
A. F.
Beautiful place! It’s surrounded by nature and in the middle of the city. Also really peaceful

(Translated) This place that we found almost by chance turns out to be very interesting, with gardens full of tombs stacked around a tree because the train tracks ate space for the church. A place to visit if you are in the St. Pancras area.
