Reviews of Church Ruins

St John's church ruins are in Boughton Green Northamptonshire dating back to the 14th century and it is said to be one of the most haunted graveyards in the country.
The day I visited was a sunny, but breezy day and the snowdrops were in full bloom.
I spent around half an hour walking in the graveyard and ruins and have to admit it felt very peaceful.
The graveyard and ruins are on consecrated ground, so please be respectful if you decided to visit. The sat navs seem to have issues finding it, which is spooky to say the least!!!!

I was expecting a little bit more of ruins around but it was a really short visit. For sure making the place a little bit creepier.

I remember visiting here as a young boy, and was frightened by absolutely everything about it. Revisiting more than three decades later, I found it quite peaceful, and well maintained. I did feel I was being watched all the time I was there though...

I didn't experienced any ghosts activities here. However it's nice place to visit during Sunday walk.

Lovey little secluded ruins, really rustic and and wild (in a good way) I was very surprised to see wild british river shrimp in the spring 10/10

Very pretty church ruins, that is said to have the most haunted graveyard.

Run by the English Heritage, these old ruins are ticked away, hidden from view and truly overlooked.
Rumours of ghosts, sightings as well, the stories told about this ruin, will have you running scared.
Suggest you go during the day.
Pay attention to the hand carvings on the walls, with the exception of a few modern items, most are old "vandalism" type carvings that will make you smile.
Definitely not for the front hearted, and more definitely not for wheelchair users. Sorry.

This is the old St. John's Church Broughton. Currently covered in scaffolding so there is not much to see at the moment, but I am sure it will be worth a visit when the work is completed. To the rear of the church is an interesting well.

A very interesting and eerie location - I'm sure there is plenty of history here, and I would love to find out more about it.
Unfortunately, the place is under surveillance lockdown so no chance to view the ruins up close.

Spooky yet tranquil place to come to to see the ruins or to visit a loved one that is buried here.
