Extensively renovated in the 19th century the tower is the oldest part of this church. Can be seen from the road as it is on a disused airfield. Not open to visitors but one of the 123 round towered churches still existing in Norfolk.

A round tower church in the middle of the fields, which is pleased to celebrate its WWII RAF connections. Such a peaceful setting, often surrounded by horses. Visit when the church is open to truly appreciate the wonderful, mostly Victorian, interior. Beautiful stained glass windows. Ornately carved pews. An impressive organ for such a small church. The WW1 roll of honour is a small brass plaque behind the font. The churchyard, which is surrounded by a flint wall, is a wildlife conservation area with mown paths through the grass to the graves. Just beside the church wall is a memorial stone for RAF Swannington, plus a line of trees forming the "Avenue of Remembrance". There are just a handful of services and other events each year. The church is easy to access along the former RAF perimeter track, with car parking. There is a fairly level track from the car park, but just a grass path across the churchyard and a step into the church. Well worth a visit.

The church itself is most often locked with only a handful of services each year. A nice churchyard with a wild flower patch and some very old headstones. Impressive stained glass windows. The church is based around a Norman round tower and is being increasingly used for community events. Ample off-road parking through gates off Haveringland Road opposite Stump Cross farm. Short walk possibilities although all land around the church is private.

'The church in the field'. Beautiful tranquil setting and tree lined avenue of remembrance for the men of RAF Swannington (1944-1947)
