Reviews of St Julian's

Small place so it's a great self-contained visit, and I really enjoyed the display that showed the ways that the chapel changed after the bomb damage. Worth taking a look at the postcards on sale!

This is the recreation of the tiny church and cell where Julian of Norwich devoted much of her life.
Though locked into her cell, she was a popular figure in Norwich and the fame of her wisdom and insight into the nature of God was such, that folk would come from far away to converse with her.
She is remembered today for her visions, that are collected in her book: Revelations of Divine Love; the first book published by a woman in England, and the book is still in print.
The church is small and feels as if there still lingers, something of the spirit of Mother Julian. Go there, light a candle and feel.
As Julian wrote: "Jesus answered with these words, saying: 'All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.' ... This was said so tenderly, without blame of any kind toward me or anybody else".

Have been to St Julians many times before for services, saying the Rosary on Monday morning, and the old Evensong and Benediction on Sunday evenings, or just sitting in the garden.

For some time away from the weird world for self reflection this church with St Julians cell is perfect. Rebuilt after the war the building has a real mishmash of features and glass from other churches that were bombed out.

If you need like to read the writings of Julian if Norwich is a must visit place. Unfortunately Visitor Centre closed for refurbishment on this trip. Church open every day and also the Julian cell. All built on the site where she was an Anchorite. Also a hidden garden through side door to right of church as you leave.

A quiet place, a recreation of St. Julian's church and monastic cell, to contemplate her teachings. While the actual church had been bombed, this is a faithful recreation. Julian's alter and cell and her church and garden are not to be missed. Also, visit the gift shop next door to meet her faithful followers.

Beautiful little Church, very spiritual place. There is a lovely little garden. There are a few parking spaces outside and a massive pay and display car park close by for those who need to find somewhere to park. It is walking distance from the city centre. I love this church. It is one of my favourite places to seek out peace.
