M. P.This Anglican church was built for Blessed John Henry Newman in 1835 and 1836 when he came to live in Littlemore while still a member of the Church of England; he used his own resources to pay for its construction.
There is a plaque for his mother Jemima on the wall inside the church; she laid the foundation stone in 1835 but died before the church was completed.
The main doors are opened during the day to reveal the inside of the church which is protected by a barred wrought iron screen with a locked gate.
