Reviews of Holyrood Church
I’m quietly taken aback by the long history and significance of this church. For the past and present I stood in silence and paid my respects.
I would like to have seen more than just a plaque to commemorate the recent Falklands anniversary. Perhaps a statue of some sort.
♿️
It’s free to look around.
It is small but inside lot of things to see
You can easily go in and take photos. If you are fan of historic monuments, this is the place for you.
Not a lot left of it. But when the clock chimes it seems very popular with the tourists who have just got off their boat.
A special memorial place & a bombed out {by 1940 Blitz} church building together.
Nice place to sit for a quite evening.
It's well worth having at. I found the place most interesting.

A Sad yet beautiful memorial to people of the past...
Built in 1320, this beautiful church was destroyed by enemy bombing during the blitz in November 1940
A whole host of history if you look hard enough.
Old bombed church, now a memorial for Titanic and Armed Forces.
Good and can be visited once

Magnificent
It is located close to the anchor. It is very visible even from a distance.
It gives you a sense of history.
Memorable place
Another atmospheric place in the center of Southampton.
Spectacular church that is in ruins
The remains of an ancient church are also a place to commemorate the heroes who died fighting fires and saving lives.
A very nice ancient church close to the center of Southampton
An interesting place, worth a visit
Ruins of a church bombed in 1940 and dedicated today to those killed at sea. As soon as you enter there is peace and tranquility in the environment
Part of the city's history. It is located in the old town.
Lots of history in this place
All ok
So nice. Loved it. Must see.
Okay
Lovely old church and information
I don't know the history of this church, but is a beautiful place to visit in Southampton. It's actually "what's left" of a church, but has some nice details like a tree with red colors and an interior square that's completely a relaxing and unique place.
The church was build in the 13th century and bombed by the Germans in 1940.There is a memorial dedicated to the people who were killed. The church was known locally as a sailors church. There's also a memorial to the RMS Titanic, and several more, including the Falkland's War in 1982.Well worth a visit. The area the church is in was heavily bombed in the second world war.Peaceful now.
Must see this awesome ruin surrounded by all the bars and life.
Visited during music in the city and was nice venue for that apart from street noise at some times. Very nice place for contemplation as memorials adorn the walls
My son is inspired by the story of the quarterbacks that ring every 15mins. It also houses an anchor from the Titanic
