M. R.This has to be one of the finest decorative churches in England. Built and decorated to the design of the Victorian Gothic revivalist AWN Pugin, it is a sumptuous feast for the eyes. A showcase for his phenomenal talents as architect and interior designer. Collaboration with leading craftsmen and manufacturers of the day combine to stunning effect.
Encaustic tiling made by Herbert Minton cover both floors and walls. The variety of design and colour is truly amazing.
The whole interior is decorated with intricate patterns in a variety of different materials using stained glass, paint, intricate carving and more.
The creation of Pugin funded by the Earl of Shrewsbury, a celebration of their Catholic faith and to the glory of God.
g. s.Grade I listed Gothic Revival church was designed by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin.
F. F.I'm not religious, but this church interior is a must to see. Its breathtaking, totally not your run of the mill church interior. It's an incredible piece of artwork.,one not to be missed!
T. C.Magnificent building with a very ornate interior, designed and built by Pugin who was also responsible for the Houses of Parliament. We were there for a family funeral, a lovely service which was very fitting to the memory of my Father in Law who served on the alter for most of his 91 years. 🙏

Even the ceilings and floors are beautiful.
The stained glass windows are gorgeous.
Designed by Plugin and called "Pugin's gem". Wonderful Catholic church. Well worth a visit.
L. H.I have never been anywhere like this. I didn't even know it was there. It seems unassuming when you first see it. Then you step inside and wow..... Every surface is so beautifully decorated - floors, walls, ceilings. You don't quite know where to look. If you are close take the time to find this place. You won't be disappointed
C. T.A beautiful hidden gem of Cheadle. Certainly worth a visit. The colours are splendidly preserved in comparison to other churches of its age. You can make a small donation to turn the lights on and enjoy the beautiful colours more, and you can light a prayer candle. Do not confuse this with st Giles the Abbot, also in Cheadle, they are different places.

M. S.Having visited thousands of Churches in my lifetime, a hobby of mine, I was excited to visit St Giles. What a disappointment, there was no atmosphere and I would call the decor, average, anyone who has visited Maltas vast array of Churches would surely agree. In Staffordshire, the people are delightful, so warm and friendly, but that was not the way the "Church Flower Ladies" behaved, when I firstly asked the History of a Painting and was told, "You need to buy a Guide Book", in a very uninterested manner, then I asked if I could borrow a lighter, to light some Candles and was met with a big sigh and "It is behind that Statue, the lighter" as if I should have known! I actually felt as if I was intruding. I had to smile though when one of the Women, so keen to suck up to a visiting Priest, virtually fell over her own feet following him around like a Puppy!

J. L.What a beautiful interior the detail of the designs and art work are amazing worth travelling from Coventry to see it and may l say the warden that my wife and I met was very informative and friendly he made our visit worth it.
C. P.My son didn't go but we visited to collect a friend we did go to catholic feeder school st Thomas's tean so found st Giles on same Parr which is excellent.the church is gorgeous and well worth a visit, even if just to see the outside of it.

Point to note is that the entrance is around the side which is not immediately obvious.
M. C.St Giles is a Pugin designed Church symbolically standing in the village of Chadle. The stain glass and the beautiful architecture signifies Pugin style. It's indeed a marvelous piece of beauty and you feel the spiritual depth while inside the Church. St Giles is a Cathy Church and the faithful participates in the liturgy. There is a small number of Indian community who also become part of the parish.
S.l had always wanted to visit St Giles and when l did so recently l was not disappointed, l was blown away with the splendour of the interior, the beautiful colours are amazing, l love the statues and especially the floor tiles. l am a big Pugin fan so l'm abviously abit biased, but l thought it was well worth the 2 hour drive. A must for any gothic revival fan.
