Stunning view back to Ampleforth Abbey and College from top of Yearsley bank, the road from Wass to Oswaldkirk has some of the most scenic views of the Hambledon Hills in North Yorkshire. . .

Enjoyed our guided tour by a brother of the Abbey. Tours take place weekly on Thursdays at 2.30pm. Free, but donations welcome. The onsite museum is also informative. Pleasant tea rooms (serving the Abbey's own beer and ciders) worth a trip too. Well stocked shop.

We went in for a retreat, it was a very peaceful environment. the residents are so warm and welcoming. They gave us a little tour of the Abbey. the food from the restaurant/ canteen is so freshly made you can taste every bit of its freshness.
Walking around the Abbey, you can feel the unpolluted air and hear the nature rejoice in not loosing its originality to human activity.
A very good place to freshen up from the hustles and bustles of city life

You need to go down past the Abbey and turn right into car park .Not overlarge and would be difficult for large motorhomes .lovely walk around grounds

Amazing views both at the site and the drive to it. Everything was closed but still worth the visit.

I recently stayed at Ampleforth Roman Catholic Abbey and it was a most enjoyable experience.
I attended the midday prayer service with the Benedictine Monks at Ampleforth Abbey and also a Mass in the afternoon.
I spoke to a few of the Benedictine Monks at Ampleforth Abbey and it was interesting to learn more about the Benedictine Monks community at Ampleforth.
I also walked around the grounds of Ampleforth and walked to the Orchard at Ampleforth.
Each evening I ate and had drinks at the White Swan in Ampleforth.
Ampleforth Roman Catholic Abbey is a spiritual experience which I would recommend.
I would recommend a visit to Ampleforth Roman Catholic Abbey.
